  1. Eileen Davidson to be interviewed on Michael Fairman live youtube Tuesday May 21 at 2pm Eastern (11am Pacific) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omrjZlsWYNg
  2. In the Lynn Martin interview I cited (Link) at about 16 minutes into the interview she says: Especially, you know, and I love the Writers Guild -- they give me my insurance and my pension -- but they were like yeah “go on strike and they can't fire you when you get back”. And we went back -- and they were like “you know what your contract is up” because our contracts go in 13 weeks. Every 13 weeks, our necks are on the chopping block.
  3. A writer (Lynn Martin) from Y&R said in February that she and other contract writers were let go three months after they returned from the strike. (Link) She pointed out that writers can be let go for whatever reasons every 13-week cycle, (same as actors). The implication is that writers who were on contract as writers before the strike, would be brought back after the strike, but they'd only be guaranteed to be kept for duration of their 13-week cycle. (It wasn't clear if the cycle reset from the beginning after the strike, or if this meant cycles that started before the strike would finish out after the strike.) My point being that maybe they had to bring firedguy's wife back after the strike but they probably don't have to keep her longer than whenever her 13-week cycle ends. We'll see in three months who is on the writing team then.
  4. Oh yes I understood that *your* post was intended as such, because it was a demonstration of the obviously ridiculous findings of AI, a quick moment of lightness. My issue was with the other poster's post, which seemed to be intended as a serious question.
  5. AI is a bad source for who was writing during the writers strike, for Days or for any show. AI just surfs the web like we do and grabs whatever is out on the internet but has no way to verify anything. Can we please not bring random stuff to this thread?
  6. Personally, I will never find dark and misogynistic to be entertaining. I never want that type of writing again.
  7. I hadn't heard of Sri Rao before. So I searched and found this 2022 interview. https://www.soapcentral.com/soapcentral/news/2022/0301-interview-gh-nightshift-head-writer-sri-rao-chats-diversity-in-daytime-working-with-kelly-ripa-his-netflix-series-and-more.php "I am so thankful to those GH fans that expressed their appreciation for my writing and who reached out to me and who were vocal about it. And still to this day, I still see occasional posts from people who remember my work on Nightshift and appreciate it. It means so much to me because I have such a fondness and respect for those characters and those storylines, the ones that I was writing on Nightshift. The fact that there was such a legacy for those characters and for those relationships from GH, I wanted to do justice to them, and I wanted to give them more juicy stories to work with and more interesting storylines to play out, and I am so glad that the fans appreciated it, because I was very much writing it as a fan myself. And then, yeah, I did hear those comments afterwards wishing that I had an opportunity to write on GH, and I also did really wish that that could have happened, and I tried for many, many years, but unfortunately, I never had that chance." "I will always have a soft spot in my heart for the ladies of GH, whether that's Finola Hughes, who I did have the opportunity to write a little bit for when I did Nightshift, but she is someone who I have always adored. Kristina Wagner is someone I've also always admired from afar, as well as Genie Francis. I think that GH has some amazing actresses that I would love to write for someday." I see that Sri Rao wrote for Night Shift. I know it was a GH spinoff but I never saw it. Was it well-written?
  8. Meanwhile ...
  9. From SOD (Link) Material crafted by the Mulcahey/Korte team will air through mid-summer, a source at the show shares. The source adds, “There will be more news to share at a later date as to the composition of the new writing team.”

  11. All of this. So glad I didn't bother to subscribe to Hulu. I have zero interest in Korte's vision of GH.
  12. Conner Floyd (Chance) had been on contract. Now apparently dropped to recurring? He was listed in his usual place in closing credits as contract on April 26 CDN (April 29 US). Removed from contract closing credits as of May 7 CDN (May 8 US) Latest credits aired May 14 CDN (May 15 US), still no C.Floyd.
  13. On another thread, someone mentioned Erika Slezak being a guest on Linda Dano's podcast. It was in August 2023. Here's the link: https://open.spotify.com/episode/0fLILqOsR5y5ZKFGpo10aS Fairman summarized pieces of it here: https://michaelfairmantv.com/one-life-to-live-erika-slezak-talks-prospect-park-clint-richie-in-with-linda-dano-podcast/2023/08/18/
  14. Here you go: Posted the link on the OLTL thread here: https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/40180-oltl-tribute-thread/?do=findComment&comment=1926356
  15. I know this is the GH thread _ I'm just replying to comments about who could potentially be cast as Lulu Spencer. I disliked Marci Miller's portrayal of Abigail on Days. I found her style to be dull and it literally put me to sleep. Yes I know she had an arc of episodes that were more intense; but still just not my cup of tea at all. I found Marci Miller's acting style to be the opposite of spitfire and my personal opinion is that she's NOT the right casting for Lulu. The actress Marci seems like a genuinely nice person and I sincerely wish her the best. I just don't want to see her as Lulu. It's been interesting to read through the years, on various messageboards and social media platforms -- it seems like Days viewers were evenly divided about whether they preferred Kate Mansi or Marci Miller as Abigail. Non-scientific, just my observations, LOL. Just that there's no "right" or "wrong" opinion about the Abigail actresses.

  18. That's why I start my daily news reading at Guardian/news/world https://www.theguardian.com/world That has a few of the most recent headlines from several regions/countries, and the places are in alphabetical order: Africa Americas (includes Central, North, and South America) Asia Pacific Australia Europe Middle East South and Central Asia UK US Click on any of those places and it gives more stories. I really like this because it reorients my brain away from the U.S. news. It's not perfect -- because sometimes the latest headline from a place might be a random unimportant thing or entertainment/celeb stuff, and some things are written from a Western perspective; but still it really helps me see stuff I wouldn't usually see. And I try to click on each place/region to see more. But still, even then, I don't know what's happening in the Sudan, so thanks for mentioning it, and I'll go look.
  19. input the article URL here https://archive.is/ It might show a bunch of green code on your screen while it's loading, and then when ready, it appears.
