  1. ^ So nymag.com is doing the full both-sides strategy for magazine sales and website clicks: A cover featuring both Harris and Trump. I posted the links but haven't had time to read them, as my day today is busy. But just the title and the magazine's description of Nuzzi's piece, and that quote that @DRW50 found -- it all sounds so vomit-inducing.
  2. New York (*not* The New Yorker) "New York" magazine (nymag.com), "Vulture", "The Cut", "intelligencer", and a few others are all the same magazine. Owned by Vox Media. The latest issue of New York magazine features two articles on its cover: https://nymag.com/press/article/nuzzi-interviews-trump-traister-on-harriss-rise.html a piece on the Harris campaign by Rebecca Traister for "The Cut": "The Joyous Plot to Elect Kamala Harris: How a women-led movement, born in the devastation of 2016, put Democrats on the brink of making history" https://www.thecut.com/article/kamala-harris-women-movement-voters-organizers-grassroots-fundraising.html and a piece by Olivia Nuzzi for "Intelligencer": "I Examined Donald Trump’s Ear — and His Soul — at Mar-a-Lago: Still reeling from a changed race, Trump contemplates his campaign, his new opponent, and the miracle of his continued existence." https://nymag.com/intelligencer/article/donald-trump-ear-campaign-assassination-attempt.html The nymag web page about the cover had this description of Nuzzi's piece: "a revealing and intimate conversation with a man on the brink of self-reflection as he reels from his assassination attempt and the changing shape of the race and grapples with the existence of God" From the "about" blurb for Intelligencer: https://nymag.com/intelligencer/about-us/ "Intelligencer’s staff of writers, including Jonathan Chait, Zak Cheney-Rice, and Olivia Nuzzi"
  3. from Kevin Costner https://www.instagram.com/p/C_tomc0y8Ol/ kevincostner Just hearing the news of James Earl Jones’s passing. That booming voice. That quiet strength. The kindness that he radiated. So much can be said about his legacy, so I’ll just say how thankful I am that part of it includes Field of Dreams. If you’ve seen it, you know that this movie wouldn’t be the same with anyone else in his role. Only he could bring that kind of magic to a movie about baseball and a corn field in Iowa. I’m grateful to have been a witness to him making that magic happen. Rest in peace, friend.
  4. I haven't been motivated to watch at all. I'll see what happens when the new writers' material begins airing several months from now.
  5. yes James Scott's EJ called every person by their proper name, except that he called Nicole "Nikki".
  6. News outlets tend to focus on new material. While some outlets may be inclined to fact-check a false Trump claim the first, second, third or even 10th time he utters it, they are far less likely to devote precious resources to a claim on the 100th or 150th utterance – especially because he is constantly mixing in dozens of new lies that require time and resources to address. And so, by virtue of shameless perseverance, Trump often manages to outlast most of the media’s willingness to correct any particular falsehood, eventually getting that claim into news coverage and social media clips nearly uncorrected. (intentionally posting this on both the politics and media threads)

  8. See the Y&R September spoilers thread.
  9. Bringing this over from the end of the prior thread. Thanks to @dragonflies for finding it.
  10. My mistake. You are right that JFP was never at AMC. Apologies. I must have confused some unrelated things. So sorry. My apologies. I usually look up references before making claims; but this time I didn't, and I remembered wrong. ......... Edit. Found the interview. MEK was talking about Chuck Pratt, not JFP. Chuck Pratt was at AMC and Y&R during MEK's roles at both shows. https://www.tvinsider.com/42993/all-my-children-vet-michael-e-knight-dishes-his-new-gig-the-young-and-the-restless/
  11. I tried to type a post here commenting on Weigel's tweet ... but, no words can convey...
  12. JFP brought a few other of her faves to Y&R: She brought Jason Thompson from GH to Y&R to play Billy Abbott. She brought Michael E. Knight to Y&R to play the shady doctor Simon Neville. Thompson and Knight each gushed about how great JFP was when they were brought to Y&R. Knight thought his other (notTad) role on AMC was wonderful and thanked JFP for that character. I don't know of any viewers that liked that, but he did. (EDIT later: I got that wrong. JFP was not involved with AMC.) In viewer conversations, JFP's favorites were/are referred to as "FOJ" (Friends of Jill).
  13. I know nothing BTS. I can only *SPECULATE* that GH wanted to put Sam back with Burton's Jason -- and Kelly was unenthused? Just speculating.
  14. The show released that pic approximately January 4, 2024 with the GH primetime special featuring the announcement of Burton's return. The pic says so much. Kelly M. seemed to be doing well in recent months with the Sam/Dante blended family. The impending recasting of Lulu, with Lulu awakening from her coma, would put Dante back in storyline with Lulu. Theoretically, Dante and Lulu *could* coparent without reuniting romantically, and theoretically Sam/Dante *could* remain a couple... but instead they chose to kill off Sam?
  15. Thanks to @carolineg for the clarification.
