iI think that's April's Aunt, Marty Edison (Isabel Glasser). She was a photographer. That looks like Geoofrey Ewing, but I'm just not positive.

I just looked Lyman up on the AWHP and that's correct. Everything I have prior to 2010 in my info was pretty much scribbled on paper before added into my list, so I likely mislabeled Hank with GL. I'll fix it. @Xanthe Will Lyman ANOTHER WORLD Hank Jeeter The Vietnam Vet 1995

C. Ligon 12/31/1976 - 3/23/2009 (Her Death) From The New York Times (Paywall) He Used to Be on Police Dramas, Then He Met a Bad Guy in Real Life By Michael Wilson Aug. 16, 2013 A 72-year-old man stretched his tall, thick, worn self onto the little bed in his Greenwich Village apartment for an afternoon nap. It was Aug. 1, hot outside. He was awakened by a noise. In the next room, a window to the street was open for the breeze, and through it, a stranger was climbing into his home. The intruder filled the man in bed not with fear, but fury. How dare he? The man in bed was Tom Ligon, who was born in New Orleans and then made his way to New York in the early 1960s to try to act for a living. He fell in with a kindred spirit named Sam Waterston, and the two shared a $25-a-month sublet until they lost that, and Mr. Waterston found this spot on a quiet block of the Village. One night, the two went to a party, and by the end, the way Mr. Ligon remembers it, Mr. Waterston was mooning over a young lady. He moved out and married her. And Mr. Ligon stayed put. (Mr. Waterston went on to great success, and the two remained friends. “He says, ‘You married me off to get the apartment,’” Mr. Ligon said.) In 1969, Mr. Ligon landed a role in the film “Paint Your Wagon.” Around the same time, a friend visiting the apartment brought along a young lady, and now it was Mr. Ligon’s turn to moon. She was an actress and dialect coach named Katharine Dunfee Clarke. “We were a special pair,” Mr. Ligon said. They married and lived on and off in California pursuing roles, but they never gave up the apartment. “I closed it up,” he said. He was handsome and muscular. He ate raw food and practiced yoga and meditation. Fans of 1970s police shows have Mr. Ligon’s face stamped in unconscious corners of their minds. He played bit parts in “Baretta” and “Police Woman.” In an episode of “Starsky and Hutch,” he played a character listed in the credits as Young Man, a mumbling, brainwashed prisoner in a castle. He played Cadet Ted Miller in an episode of “Charlie’s Angels.” In 1978, Mr. Ligon stepped into the role for which he is widely remembered to viewers, mostly women, of a certain age: Lucas Lorenzo Prentiss on the soap opera “The Young and the Restless.” He was game for anything the show threw at him. (“Lucas discovered ‘Priscilla’ as a stowaway on the jet,” an online fan site wrote in a description of his character.) He spent more than four years on the show, until 1982. (“Lucas left town for parts unknown.”) In the Village, he remained accustomed to shouts of “Lucas!” In 1989, he acted in “Cutting Class,” playing a father. His son was played by an unknown, Brad Pitt. Mr. Ligon told his wife, “He’s going to be a big star.” He had a recurring role as a prisoner in “Oz” on HBO, and there were several appearances on various “Law and Order” properties. He also visited his wife’s dialect and voice classes at the Circle in the Square Theater School. His wife was blunt. She was said to have told James Gandolfini, cast in a stage production of “On the Waterfront,” that he wasn’t having a dialect problem, but an acting problem. In 2009, she died of a blood disorder. She was 60 and terribly ill, spending her painful final weeks at St. Vincent’s Hospital Manhattan. Mr. Ligon came home around the corner to an empty apartment. “It’s the first time I’ve lived alone,” he said. He drank heavily. His solid frame softened and he grew a pot belly. St. Vincent’s closed. “I’m glad it’s gone,” he said. Bad memories. It has been four years. This is the man who was napping Aug. 1. “Who comes through the window?” he said later. “Maybe one friend back in the ’70s, back when we were smoking a lot of dope.” He leapt up from bed. “You don’t think, ‘Oh, I can’t move like that,’ ” he said. “I did this purely on reflexes. I take 10 minutes to get out of bed in the morning.” Mr. Ligon yelled “my Japanese yell — ‘Hi-YA!’” he said. “I hit him in the top of the head with my fist.” The intruder fell to the sidewalk and ran away, losing a sneaker in his escape. The police took it for evidence. He remains at large. At least his wife was not there. “She would have killed him,” he said. Last year, after I posted his updated profile, he sent me a dm with a few more roles, which I did verify, and he messaged me for three more days. He appreciates attention. 🤣 So an account like that wouldn't surprise me. He kept thanking me and the group for remembering that he used to be on television every day.

Elsie ___ Miller Franklin Ethel Remey 1956-57 Bertha's mother Albert Franklin ???? 1957 Elsie Miller's second husband,; Bert's step-father died I reached out to a certain former Soap Opera Digest Writer that was well known for histories (the one that sent me his cast lists while he was moving.) Here's what he had.. I recently discovered that Elsie and Dr. Carl Miller appeared on screen in 1953. Do you think Ethel Remey was in the role then, as well as in 1956 and 1957? Have you ever seen that anyone portrayed Carl -- Maybe Carl Low? Hmmm... I don't know about Carl Miller but there was another actress who played Elsie at one time. GH: Character Recast
🤣 😂 I see he started laying the groundwork for Howarth's arrival as Sean Butler today. Just kidding... I hope. He wasn't backstage when #firefrank was auditioning the Ford brothers on his casting couch, so unlike Howarth and Easton (maybe even Patrick Gibbons) I don't think he'll get another role once this one fizzles( coughs- already has- coughs) so...

GH: Character Recast
I don't see this as a character that should be on contract for longer than a 13 week cycle. I'm not dissing Harrington as an actor, but the character is John "Jagger" Cates in name only. As many have said, they could have cast him as a randomly named FBI Agent, or Sean Donely's son Connor, Sly Eckert, or any number of relations to legacy families. Like it or not, ASJ is still remembered as Jagger. His personal statements have made ASJ radioactive. The character has sooooo few connections left on the canvas (Anna, Robert, Scotty, Sonny) and aside from being Stone's brother... meh. I do think he'd have made a great Stephen Lars, which would have given Elizabeth a story not revolving around Dawgy Daddy.

She seems very "with it". I honestly think she'd be perfect as Blaze's religious Granny. I don't need them to stick around, but 3 - 5 episodes scattered over the course of a month woud be good. Long enough to play out the story, but not like a Gladys who stuck around for years.

If this Natalia is a short term role, then I love the casting. She and JGL (Blaze) is great casting. I like the Blaze character. I was glad they found story for her. The thought of changing her to Maddie would be difficult to do, as she gave her real name as Alison back in 2023. As Vee said, Jackson and Nora popping in as lawyers is acceptable. Building stories off character histories from other shows just because #firefrank feels like it just brings up the anger in a lot of GH fans. It's not THE ABC chumming pond, it's General Hospital. A show filled with it's own history and characters that Valentini refuses to mine. Since she has discussed her religious Grandmother, I have a suggestion for a brief casting: Margarita Cordova (not as her Santa Barbara or Sunset Beach characters, either. I'd love her back on our screens, even briefly.

Marriages Sarah Browning 2 Daughters (2006; 2011) Chrissy Lucia Tins- on and daughter, their son died shortly after birth. Between Takes: Catching Up With Actor Chris Browning By Kurtis Bright From 2019 From Westworld To Sons Of Anarchy To Getting His Hand Chopped Off By Denzel Washington In The Book Of Eli, Bosch Regular Chris Browning Has Seen It All. While little kids have the luxury of dreaming about being a huge movie star, actors who have been around for a while understand that becoming a mega-celebrity is a foolish thing to hang all of your hopes on, at least for all but .001 percent of us. Having outgrown childhood fantasies, what most actors with any experience are hoping for is to be steadily employed, to get opportunities to play fun, challenging roles and create a solid body of work that they can look back on with pride. That’s why to the up-and-coming actor who understands the reality of the business, someone like Chris Browning should be considered a hero, even more than a Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt. That’s because Browning epitomizes the hard-working, “regular guy” actor. He’s the actor who has learned the craft, knows what he’s doing, and makes a great living by learning his lines, hitting his marks and grinding every day. That work ethic and dedication to learning the craft has landed him gigs like improvising with Denzel Washington on the set of Book of Eli to being burned alive in 3:10 From Yuma under the watchful eye of Christian Bale. And it’s given Browning a depth of knowledge about how the business works and what it takes to be a part of it that he’s willing to share. Catching up with Browning for a phone chat from his Los Angeles home, the first thing you learn about him is that he’s a natural storyteller with a great sense of humor. Even his first tentative forays into the world of acting were fraught with missteps and humor. “I wanted to write screenplays, and I had this friend who said he knew someone who went to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts,” Browning said. “And I said, ‘Good, that’s where I’ll go.’ Because I wanted to learn ‘the dramatic arts.’ And after I got enrolled and everything I was talking with them about how I’d like to focus primarily on screenwriting, and they were like, ‘What are you talking about? Here’s your schedule, you’ve got voice and speech, and Shakespeare, and comedy, and movement…’ And I had already paid, so I said why not give it a shot?” But even given Browning’s roundabout way of getting started in the business, he says he immediately fell in love with performing, and worked hard to learn how to do it. One problem he sees with hopeful newbie actors rolling into Hollywood is they haven’t really put in the work to give themselves a solid chance at succeeding there – or they haven’t put in the right kind of experience. “The biggest mistake is when they say they have experience, they have experience at what?” Browning said. “I think the thing on the West Coast is a lot of people who get off the bus out here and think they’re going to be big stars, they think because they have a little experience in doing some catalog work for the local mall they should be a star. That’s two different sports. That’s someone who’s really good at ping-pong who thinks they should be in the NFL.” And while there are always going to eye-candy type roles for people who are “really, really, really good-looking” on a the Derek Zoolander level, Browning cautions against relying solely on your appearance to land you work in LA. Even if you are stunningly attractive, Browning says, you’d be better served developing a strong tool kit. “People don’t realize this is a rare skill,” he said. “There’s so many people that think because they have a certain look, they should be famous. But this isn’t a job about just looking good. Now, granted there are exceptions, but it’s usually on a really low-brow show that people make fun of. They’re not going to be on an Aaron Sorkin show unless they know what they’re doing.” And to Browning the importance of learning the skills a professional actor needs on set isn’t only about how you perform when the cameras are rolling. Knowing what you’re doing gives you a confidence that is unbeatable, especially when it comes to acting. Because acting requires the psychological near-trauma of auditioning, confidence in your abilities isn’t optional, not if you really want to succeed. “If you can go to school and learn [the skills], that’s what puts the bounce in your step,” Browning said. “If I can go, ‘Hey I was in Henry VI Part 2 and I played Suffolk and I crushed it,’ then when I go into this toothpaste commercial and have to make a fool of myself, I’m not going to be intimidated by it. And not just confidence, but just knowing how to do it. That’s big.” Browning also wanted to impart the importance of knowing how to improvise, and having the confidence to create on the fly. “If you’re an actor, and you’ve done some work with improvisation, and you come up with your own bit, hopefully its funny. And if they have you do it again, do something else. Don’t do the same thing you just did. Come up with a second thing. That’s what they’re looking for. They want to know that this guy can think on his feet, he can roll with the punches,” he said. And for younger actors who can’t imagine a time when they won’t get nervous anymore before an audition, take heart: even an old pro like Browning still gets the nerves now and again. The difference, he says, is having done the work to prepare for the audition, and having the confidence to know you can deliver. “A lot of that comes from experience,” Browning said. “I mean I still get nervous before auditions. Most of the time I don’t, because I’ve got what I want to do. I don’t go in there knowing I have the JOB, because it might have something to do with, say, my eye color. But when people ask ‘How did it go?’ I always say, ‘I did what I wanted to do.’ And that’s all I can do.” Another auditioning tip from Browning has to do with understanding what you’re truly up against when you’re in that audition waiting room and you’re sitting with 50 other guys who look just like you and start to feel hopeless about your odds of landing the part. “If you can sit close enough to the room they’re auditioning in, and you can hear what’s going on through the walls, you start to realize 90 percent of these guys have no business even being here. I can tell they’re terrible through a wall! Imagine how bad it is in the room, if it’s hurting me that much through a wall! The competition isn’t as great as we think it is,l” he says. Browning also advises actors to know what they’re auditioning for, and to bring the appropriate amount of emphasis to the lines. For instance if you’re reading for a small role as a paramedic who gives the lead and the audience a bit of exposition about an accident that happened, maybe don’t bust out your Suffolk from Henry VI at that moment. “Especially the smaller roles that people are auditioning for early on when they don’t have a lot of credits, they want to put all this mustard on their five lines because they want to be really memorable,” Browning said. “But that’s the one thing that’s going to ensure they don’t get the job. We don’t ever want to go, ‘Oh my God! Did you see that paramedic? He just stole the scene! He was so mesmerizing!’ No. That’s not the job. Don’t try to draw so much focus. We want to focus on Tommy Lee Jones as he’s listening to this. You have to understand what the part is.” However, that understanding can cut both ways. Browning related the story of how his creativity helped to make what might have been a rather cut-and-dried scene with Denzel Washington in the post-apocalyptic action thriller The Book of Eli much more memorable. In his role as the leader of a band of thugs looking to steal from Denzel’s character and likely kill him, Browning got the green-light from director Allen Hughes, “who is more of an actor’s director,” to play with his delivery once it became clear in on-set rehearsals something a bit different was called for than what was written in the script word-for-word. “So it was definitely a good time to steal it, to go big and have fun and be entertaining, because I was supposed to be the focus of that scene until Denzel’s character takes over and wins it. The bigger I am the better of an opponent I am for Denzel. And at the end of the scene, I’m still alive after he’s killed all my guys, and the script says he slashes me across the neck, because I’m on my knees.” At the end of the day, Denzel argued that that type of death for Browning’s character would make the audience side against Denzel’s own character, even though they were adversaries. “Denzel said, ‘He’s put so much personality into this instead of just being ‘evil bad guy’ that the audience is going to kind of like him. So if I kill him like that, they’re not going to like me.’ So he goes down on his knees, kind of hugging me, and I kind of give him this little nod and he slowly just slides the knife into my chest and puts me out of my misery – because I’m bleeding to death anyway, he cut my hand off.” But Browning is quick to note that beneath it all, there’s nothing like having a solid base from which to work, starting with simple scene study classes. “That’s where I got the most help as an actor,” Browning said. “Just being in a scene and listening to somebody and listening to different ways of saying the lines and doing that back and forth. That gives you the improvisation that you need, because you can play with the dialogue.” He also suggested actors just starting out do whatever it takes to get themselves a solid reel. “The trick I think is to get a reel,” he said. “Search for student films and get some footage you can cut together because these days it’s about having a link. Nobody wants to see a paper with a bunch of made-up credits. You just send out a link to your reel. Mix up the first minute to show pieces of three or four things if you can, and the latter part can be a full scene, but try to show them yourself as two or three or four different characters in that first minute.” These days Browning is a series regular on Amazon’s critically acclaimed Bosch, and he continues to write, currently at work on two pilot projects. One of those is a semi-autobiographical piece that focuses on his own time when he was homeless and addicted to drugs. But according to Browning – no spoilers – it will hardly be some simple, sappy Hallmark channel tear-jerker. “It’s called ‘In the Life.’ It’s kind of autobiographical, it’s about this homeless, drug-addict ex-con who got out of prison and started a new life and he’s been really successful, he’s got a wife and kids, he’s a treatment specialist, he’s a frequent guest on Dr. Oz. But there’s a twist at the end. You find out he’s not the guy you think he is at all. It’s really more of a Ray Donovan kind of thing rather than a family drama.” What’s certain is that Browning will continue to create memorable roles and scripts, regardless of what life sets in his path. And he says its up to every actor to do the same, no matter how tough it can be at times. “My advice is just to hang in there,” he said. “None of it’s personal. So many people in this business know even less about what they’re doing than you do. Don’t take the rejection personally because it’ll suck your soul out, because the rejection is just constant. It’s just a numbers game – just do your thing and move on to the next one.” Season 5 of ‘Bosch’ featuring Chris Browning will be available on Amazon starting April 19. From MEDIUM RICHARD KILEY: AN ACTOR WHO SANG Ron Fassler · · Dec 14, 2020 In March of 1953, on the opening night of a revival of George Bernard Shaw’s Misalliance, the thirty-one-year-old Richard Kiley made an auspicious Broadway debut by dropping out of the sky of an aircraft and crashing through the roof of a conservatory. Theatrical immortality was to come a dozen years later when he created the role of Cervantes/Don Quixote in Man of La Mancha. The much in-demand actor (two Tonys and three Emmys) worked nearly non-stop for decades until his death in 1999 at the age of seventy-six. Here’s his story in today’s “Theatre Yesterday and Today.” Richard Paul Kiley was born March 31, 1922 on the South Side of Chicago to an Irish Catholic family and received a strict Catholic education. Taught by priests at Mt. Carmel High School, it was while in a production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Mikado (appearing with his classmate, the prolific comedian and songwriter Steve Allen) he became hooked on acting, but with no intention of devoting himself to musicals. “No singing at all,” he told David Craig in the book On Performing. “ I never really thought there was a buck in it. I thought it was something like… juggling or… some little thing you could do.” Forever onward, in spite of awards and accolades, Kiley always considered himself an actor who sang. “I got into singing through the back door, through desperation. I needed work.” Kiley attended Loyola University in Chicago, but butted heads with someone he once described as “a particularly belligerent cleric.” Forsaking college, he developed hands-on stage experience with theatre companies in Michigan, Philadelphia and New Jersey (those were the days) before being drafted into World War II. He served as a gunnery instructor in the US Navy from 1943 to 1946 and, upon his release, returned to the Midwest picking up odd jobs in radio as an announcer and acting in soap operas. Finally, he made the decision to head for New York “with $600 in my pocket and two suitcases.” Times were so hard he nearly gave up his dream of becoming an actor to attend Syracuse University and pursue a career in forestry. “This was a rough period,” he later said in an interview. “I had gotten married, there was a baby on the way, and I had just about given up when I got a call from my agent. They were looking for an understudy for Anthony Quinn for the touring company of A Streetcar Named Desire.” Kiley got the gig and stayed with the production for two years, eventually graduating to the role of Stanley Kowalski after Quinn’s departure. Before he made his Broadway debut in 1953, his time in New York was filled with employment in the then-burgeoning world of television, where he garnered experience in a variety of roles, all under the pressure of live performance. His first Broadway musical should have been A Month of Sundays, starring alongside Nancy Walker, but the show closed in early 1952 after poor reviews out of town in Boston and Philadelphia canceled it. Then, shortly after Misalliance closed, Kiley was cast in Kismet, the Tony Award winning Best Musical of 1953, in which he got to introduce “Stranger in Paradise,” alongside Doretta Morrow. If you’re as fond of this album as I am (I did it in high school so I wore it out learning the songs), you’re treated to Kiley’s tenor register for pretty much his one and only time. Not feeling up to the vocal demands of the singing (he’s a natural baritone) he left the show a few months into its run. “The Caliph is not much of a part — not much there, other than having two or three of the greatest songs to sing.” In 1955, he made a memorable on screen foil as a teacher to an assortment of juvenile delinquents in Richard Brooks’s hard-hitting The Blackboard Jungle, which was a significant box office hit and earned four Academy Award nominations. And earlier that year, Kiley scored in a live TV drama, Patterns, one of writer Rod Serling’s earliest successes. In those days, tape wasn’t used to preserve programs, but kinescopes were made, mostly for legal protection (filmed recordings of TV broadcasts). That is how Kiley in Patterns survives (I own it on DVD). Sadly, when a feature film was made a year later for theatrical release, Kiley was replaced with Van Heflin, a former Academy Award winner. It had to have hurt, since his TV co-stars Everett Sloane and Ed Begley, bigger names with a longer list of credits, got to repeat theirs. By 1959, Kiley returned to Broadway in a new musical, Redhead, which won that year’s Tony for Best Musical, as well as trophies for him and his co-star Gwen Verdon as Best Actor and Actress. Not a major contribution in the long term and extraordinary career of its director and choreographer Bob Fosse, Redhead does stand as the first one for which he took sole credit in both those disciplines. And with Verdon and Fosse already well into their status as musical theatre legends, Kiley was left intimated at the prospect of meeting the recently married couple. “Gwen had seen me do a couple of plays, and Kismet, and she wanted me to play opposite her,” Kiley recalled to David Craig. “The part was really wrong for me. He was supposed to be a great big, barrel-chested strongman in the circus. I told my agent, ‘If they want me, they want me. There are records they can listen to, and they’ve seen me in plays.’ So, I went up to see them and finally, of course, after they said hello, someone said: ‘Would you just sing. We haven’t heard you do something that’s kind of off-beat and light.’” Deciding to just “wing it,” Kiley asked the show’s composer, Albert Hague, who was seated at the piano, if he knew “On the Sunny Side of the Street.” And with that, Kiley launched into the old 1930s standard, only he kept forgetting the words. Luckily, an elegant, mature woman was in the room and kept throwing the lyrics to him. After he finished, he said “Wow! You’re incredible! You must have total recall!” And she said, “With that one, I do. I wrote it.” It was Dorothy Fields, who was at the audition in her capacity as the lyricist for Redhead. In 1962, Kiley’s next Broadway musical found him opposite another wildly charismatic leading lady, Diahann Carroll. This was Richard Rodgers’ No Strings, the first musical for which the great man wrote lyrics, after the death of his longtime partner Oscar Hammerstein II. For Kiley, it couldn’t have been much fun to have had Carroll steal the reviews, win a Tony, and get to wear better clothes all evening (she played a fashion model), but he was a trouper about it all, remaining with it for a year. Kiley’s next two musicals most likely left him further in the dumps: replacing Craig Stevens in the mediocre Here’s Love, Meredith Willson’s flat musical version of the classic Christmas film Miracle on 34th Street (“I’d just moved into a big house in Tuxedo Park and I was between jobs”), and as Sam the Shpieler, a Coney Island boardwalk barker (and straight man to comedian Buddy Hackett) in 1964’s I Had a Ball, cited by theatre historian Ethan Mordden as having “left behind a cast album a notch above terrible.” It was at this point in his career, now past the age of forty, that Richard Kiley took an offer to go to the Goodspeed Opera House in East Hadham, Connecticut and play in two musicals over the summer of 1964. The offer came from the producer/director Albert Marre, who had not only cast him in his first musical, the out of town flop A Month of Sundays, but Kismet as well. In fact, he had also been the director of Misalliance, the show that had Kiley drop from the skies in his Broadway debut. That one of the musicals was something called Man of La Mancha left Kiley with an enormous debt of gratitude to Marre… and a story that needs its own column in order to do it justice.
