  1. I don't think so. At least that's not what is being described here. It seems as though Asderaki blew the whistle via signaling to the umpire. She's Greek, and no doubt, understands what Stefano's father is saying.
  2. The right-winger and covidiots are mocking Neil Young for giving Spotify the ultimatum and are now mocking Barry Manilow and Peter Frampton for taking their music off Spotify in solidarity with Young. Whose work will be listened to well after they're all gone? I don't see see loads of millennials and Gen Zs on YouTube doing reaction videos of Rogan's videos.
  3. Legacy heroine narrows down the possibilities. Across the remaining soaps, how many are there? Which show has the most to spare? Also, reading some of the initial responses under the tweet makes me wonder if many soap fans know what actually constitutes a legacy character.
  4. Next, I expect to hear something like, "Irna Phillips, what did she really do anyway?"
  5. That seems to be the consensus among fans who watched the match. I didn't see it because there was no way in hell I was going to get up that early to watch a Keys/Barty match, especially knowing Keys' reputation for choking in big moments. People are now comparing Keys to Dementieva but I don't remember Elena playing this poorly in majors. I remember in a Wimbledon match (QFs or SFs?) against Serena, she had a bit of a choke but it was a brief moment of constant pressure that Serena put on Dementieva's very shaky serves. I just remembered by the time I was able to tune into that U.S. Open final against Sloane, I looked at the score and was glad I only had to watch a few games and of those few games, Madison couldn't put one ball in the court. I could only guess what the rest of the match had been like. And it's really become a pattern for Keys.
  6. The eyes and the pressure will definitely be on Sinema and Manchin. Both will have hell to pay if they decide to gum up the SCOTUS process. People already have their eyes wide open to all the tactics that some are already trying to use including this ridiculous one. Also the "move VP to AG and Merrick Garland to be the SCOTUS nominee" as though there weren't enough white males in the Supreme Court. Although this one seems like a fever dream that originated from some corner of the far-left. The one that usually refers to Black voters in the South as being "low-information voters".
  7. That comment about "stanning" Bill Bell has me screaming 🤣! Is the implication that the creator and original HW/showrunner of Y&R is somehow...uhm, overrated??
  8. Collins handed Swiatek the smack down and she did it without living up to her nickname "DanYell" 😂 Between having an Aussie in the Women's Final and an All Aussie Men's Doubles Final, I think the Australian tennis fans are feeling like not a thing is missing from this year's tournament for them. Speaking of an Aussie in the Men's Doubles final, for someone who claims not to care about tennis, Nick sure looks like he cares... about tennis.
  9. While the aspect of networks, producers knowing exactly how many people are watching and being able to target ads to viewers is a bit creepy and intrusive, having each viewer actually count, instead of the selective "Nielsen family" system of ratings is something that could have potentially Impacted soaps in a lucrative way when they were in their heyday, but it is likely too late now with the quality being demonstrably lower.
  10. Didn't want to quote my earlier quote about the Williams Sisters but speaking of them, their portraits are going into the National Portrait Gallery. This is so special ❤️.
  11. Oh, good grief!😔
  12. One day, people will have to fully realize what it must have taken for the Williams Sisters to succeed in a sport like tennis and how truly remarkable that is.
  13. It tickles me that a judge with the name of Rademaker re-instituted the indoor mask mandate in NY. I know the spellings are somewhat different, but still.😉
  14. Japan seems to have a plan that actually puts meaning behind what it means to "live with the virus". A plan that I am pretty sure many Americans would complain about and refuse to do.
  15. A couple years ago, I seem to remember tournaments proposing changes happening with the majors, except as is usually the case, each major tournament set their own policy as to when the tiebreak set would kick in. It was tested in doubles first, I think, before some tournaments adopted it in singles matches.
  16. Kaia Kanepi prematurely celebrating winning the match and then realizing she had only just arrived at match point was kind of funny. Luckily for her, she won the match soon after, that could have been painful for her. I definitely don't miss ole boy.
  17. With everything that Jelena Dokic has gone through in life and her career, it seems like she would genuinely appreciate more hugs.
  18. This makes me so mad. There should be more environmentally conscientious non-profit organizations stepping up to counteract these greedy companies by simply handing out some LED bulbs in low-income and underserved communities.
  19. Wasn't Moore filming a Tyler Perry movie at that same time? I think Y&R just let him keep it on, rather than be bothered. It has Tyler 'King of bad wigs' Perry's handiwork all over it.
  20. You taunt me @Soapsuds man, how I wish Roger were hosting these reunions, but we soap fans are always having to be satisfied with less than.
  21. Watching these early seasons, it's easy to think of alternative storylines. What if Margo's baby had actually turned out to be Bill Spencer's instead of Clarke's? I think the writers would have gotten a lot more leverage out of that, especially down the road. The only factor would be Don Diamont playing $Bill decades later would be tricky considering Daniel McVicar's age. Seeing Ethan Wayne getting scraps of storyline here and there, it's not hard to understand why he left. He was as capable as anyone else on the canvas not named Susan Flannery or Joanna Johnson. I keep wondering whether killing off the character, instead of it being an attempted suicide and hospitalization, was a mistake. It just seemed as if beyond a year, the storyline had little impact long-term. Whereas having Brooke, Donna and Katie have to make the devastating decision to put someone who, for much of their childhoods functioned as a de facto father figure in in-patient institutionalized care would have had painful repercussions, like an open unhealed wound. And it would have left things open for Ethan Wayne to one day make an appearance, for a anniversary episode, which many longtime fans might have gotten a kick out of. It's just a shame that the show cut off any chance of many of these actors from the early years coming back. When I watched soaps, I always got a kick out of seeing actors From the show's past "way back when", even if they had been on before I began to watch the show because the actors all genuinely seemed thrilled by it.
  22. Seriously, he has asthma and decides to practically roll around in COVID and flout all sense of reason?
  23. My heart and condolences go to Regina King and Ian Alexander Sr. Regina had just recently celebrated a birthday and was in a career high with her latest movie "The Harder They Fall" to now losing her only son. No awards or accolades can take away such a pain.
