  1. Yes, and she got pregnant. Previously, she had a drunken one-night stand with David Martin, also resulting in pregnancy. Yet she was always considered the "good girl," and treated sympathetically. Shows what good writing and acting can do.
  2. I remember Stanley Kamel playing Eric Peters. I thought the storyline of Susan Martin having sex with a stranger (who turned out to be Eric) in a park was very interesting. Susan convinced herself and everyone else that she had been raped. I still remember Eric's brother, Greg, beating him badly when he learned that Eric was the man in the park. I'm trying to remember how Susan finally remembered what really happened. Maybe in her therapy sessions with Laura.
  3. Deidre Hall with Bill Hayes and Susan Seaforth Hayes at the time they recently taped the Christmas episodes.
  4. Susan Flannery was my favorite Laura but I liked Rosemary Forsythe too. I don't mind Jaime Lynn Bauer but Laura seems like a totally different character than the one the others played.
  5. Looks like an interesting documentary. Susan Oliver was my least favorite Laura (I don't remember Floy Dean) though. She just came across as kind of cold to me.
  6. I was holding out hope that it was a mix-up. Very sad news.
  7. I feel the same. Michael Logan from TV Guide said he's trying to get information.
  8. I'm looking for further confirmation. I found that the Charles Keating involved in the Savings and Loan scandal in the 80s died earlier this year so maybe there is some confusion. None of the soap media are reporting it.
  9. Alicia Coppola announced on Twitter that Charles Keating has died. alicia coppola‏@alicia_coppola Charles Keating has passed. I am so very sad. Along w/ @LindaDano he was my very first acting teacher. The actress I am is because of them. https://twitter.com/alicia_coppola/status/498136070400143360
  10. Make-up artist Dick Smith who did the make-up for Barnabas when he suddenly aged on the series and in "House of Dark Shadows" has died at age 92. That scene terrified me when I was a kid. Smith also did the make-up for "The Exorcist" and "The Godfather," among many others. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/dick-smith-dead-godfather-makeup-720160?utm_source=twitter http://www.collinsporthistoricalsociety.com/2014/07/dick-smith-dark-shadows-make-up-artist.html
  11. Is this the promo? I don't believe this is Robert Webber. I've seen the actor in other things but can't think of his name.
  12. Don Matheson who played Cameron Faulkner (Lesley's husband) in the 70s has died. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/don-matheson-dead-land-giants-716821
  13. Just read that "Dark Shadows" producer Robert Costello died on May 30. He also produced Ryan's Hope, Another World, and Strange Paradise (and many prime time shows). http://easthamptonstar.com/Obituaries/2014626/Robert-Costello-TV-Producer-93
  14. I'm sorry to hear about Michael Maitland. I remember him well on Dark Shadows. His character was a little terror. I'm just a few years younger and I remember that he was a bit of a teen heart throb and was featured in the teen magazines that were popular at the time.
  15. Yes, Nola was still pregnant in the "early months" clips. She started working for Quint around Sept./Oct. 1981 and had the baby in late Dec. so she wasn't pregnant for very long after she met him. I meant to say in my earlier post that Nola was pregnant when they were in San Francisco, not Hollywood.
  16. Nola had already had her baby when they were in London. She had her around New Year's Eve of 1981. It was while they were in London that we learned about Quint previously being engaged to Helena and about his rivalry with Silas Crocker. I think Nola was pregnant when they were in Hollywood so that would have been earlier. Agree about the inconsistencies especially regarding Mrs. Renfield. I think Gracie just changed her opinions based on what Nola was telling her.
  17. Oh, nice find! This is when Nola and Quint went to London. I think that's when Nola first met Helena. The maid's name was Effie and Nola became friends with her.
  18. This is from an October 1972 "TV Dawn to Dusk" regarding Ed Zimmerman's death. Nice tribute from Mart Hulswit. I found Zimmerman's book referenced in the article on openlibrary.org where it's available to borrow as an e-book.
  19. I'm enjoying your reminiscences TimWil. I always liked Geraldine Court very much, on both Guiding Light and The Doctors.
  20. Thanks for sharing the Robert Clary interview. Never saw him on B&B but he was right about Robert on Days and Pierre on Y&R being very much alike. At least Robert wasn't murdered!
  21. You're welcome. Peter Brown was on Days longer than I realized too even though I was watching at the time. I read his autobiography recently and his heart didn't seem to be in acting on soaps no matter how long he was on them. He definitely preferred the westerns.
  22. Tom and Alice were great people but most of their children were messed up in some way. Tommy was probably the most well-adjusted. I think Addie had some regrets about her first marriage. Doug seemed exciting to her after being married to a stuffy banker, although the banker provided well for her. She seemed very snooty to me at first but Doug loosened her up. Before they got married she always called him "Mr. Williams" in sort of a sarcastic tone and then after they got married she would call him that in an affectionate manner. I wanted Doug and Julie together but I did like Doug and Addie too, and Doug genuinely loved her in the end.
