Thank you! I couldn't remember Bill's name, I'm terrible with names. Okay- and Leslie ends up being Rick's mother. Coming back to me now. Yeah it's just Bill's son - who is Ed- seems to be practicing medicine in 1966, and still going in the 90s lol. Doesn't ever seem to age past 40 or 50. This is what was throwing me off trying to figure out who is who. I still find the storyline- bits and pieces - around the main family really compelling. Not so much into the whole Peggy and Johnny stuff. I've come across radio episodes here and there from earlier and am always tempted to check it out but haven't yet.

Hi all- jumping in for some history help. Can someone remind me who these older characters are, like from the 60s- Leslie- who is she? And is it Bert or Meta married to the drunk guy? And I know Bert was Ed and Michael's mother, so is this drunk guy their father? Except they have an adult son interested in Leslie and the ages don't seem right.... Papa Bauer was the drunk guy's father? Sorry, I can't remember his name. I really like the Leslie character and actress, shame there aren't better quality clips around. Just trying to connect these characters to the more recent Bauers, I think I forgot it all.

Yeah I'm an SB fan, so I like Marj but it's just not the same. Also I think the writing is bad and I hate Nick lol. I'm mildly interested in Matt and Vanessa. @alwaysAMC I'm not sure about Dinah, but I'm hoping maybe I'll.enjoy the Brent story and Annie. I have seen some when Harley was with Gus but that was much later, not sure when. Then I went back to early eps, a tally I think I went back to the 50s. Peggy and Johnny? Can't remember anymore. The clip of Hope Bauer being born

Yeah I watched all the eps online I could find from late 70s to 1994. All I can say is it's a pale shadow of what it was. Tough to stick with it, I don't really like any of the stories at this point. I know soaps have peaks and valleys so I'm trying to give it a chance but this has been a loooooong valley.

I'm a newbie, have watched from the early 70s eps I could find to 1994. My q is - does this new Alex and new Alan stuff get any better? They are dragging out his return and it's a) super boring and b) really a drag compared to earlier GL. I'm ff a lot but man it's a slog. All the storylines. I'm on Sept 1994.

Thank you @Liberty City! I've been watching sporadically so I couldn't recall if I had seen him before.

Does anyone know when Pearl's first ep was? I'm watching 331 (Kirk storyline) I'm wondering if it's this but not sure. Cruz is at the police station and Pearl looks a bit rough and kind of offers to sell him a tip about Eden- Pearl had seen something the night CC's life support went down As an aside- it is beyond ridiculous that Cruz was investigating the incident. Talk about conflict of interest.

I've never watched this show much, but out of curiosity I've checked out some clips on YT. Early ones, 60s. Is there a time period that was considered the best? I'm trying to decide whether to continue or not, so far it hasn't really caught my attn. I watxhed early GL and loved it, so maybe my expectations were too high.

I agree about Meadows, just rewatched some of that, and had the same thought.

Imo the Flame scene was much better than the Lucy Coe scene. But Lynn Herring played the mousy part much more believably than Roberta. I'm just watching the Lucy Coe story now. Amy's baby storyline. I have simply never made it through that.

The scuba diving scenes with Eden and Cruz were much better than the ones in the office where he wrestled her to the ground.

I'm watching GL for the first time. I'm on 1993. This thing with Hart and Jenna is so weird. Like Hart in general is a weird character. So goes from 100% pure naive innocent, to some complete ahole, seems a bit much but ok. Still boring lol. But this thing with Jenna is weird. Were they trying to hint at some sexual tension or something? I don't really get why Hart instantly hated her, she didn't do anything to him unless I missed it. I also don't buy original recipe Hart blackmailing anyone, no matter what Roger did. Anyway it all seems weird and poorly done with the character. I won't even start on the actor

It's interesting, I always used to prefer Mark Arnold bc I agree Dane's acting wasn't great. But this recent rewatch I did - I found I preferred Dane. MA is fine, just not particularly memorable or unique. Dane at least did infuse the character with some uniqueness, whereas MA could've been any of dozens of guys answering a casting call for - male, 30s, attractive, dark hair.
