Mart was in a holiday TV movie in 1983 opposite Lee Remick..and he was handsome (and slimmed down some as well. And I think Mike/Carmen would have been interesting. Carmen was a character who could have been a viable character long term...shame the show went caricature with her. One of Long's strengths were male friendships..and male/female friendships.

Dallas: Brandi had a rough year, but she needs to get off the cross because there's a wood shortage. Kam vs Tiffany... they're more alike than either would like to admit. Both like correcting others, both attack when hurt, and both love to badger (and both can't let [!@#$%^&*] go). D'andra would be better off cutting ties with Mama Dee. She's a great person and her mom will never see that sadly. Jersey reunion sneak peak: Pigtails (margie) did seem unfazed in episode 1 when Teresa spilled the rumor talk so no surprise if she started it..or helped spread it. Jennifer vs Pigtails...what I didn't know I needed till this season of Jersey. 😀😀

It seemed like the Dobson's seemed to kill off any story that had potential that weren't Cruz/Eden. Santana was an interesting character...she was the maids daughter, determined to attain status on the same level as the Capwells. Ava L was sensual and tortured with a strong backbone. While Santana #2 was a decent actress that handled the Channing is gay story well....I wonder how Ava would have played it. And I don't think the Santana being drugged and sent to a mental hospital would have occurred had ava played the role (though she did want to kill someone in the early episodes so Santana was certainly passionate. One of the few positives of Long's stint was wrapping up Santana's arc..with the character leaving to start a new life..and reclaimed her identity...and meeting the handsome guy on the plane was a nice end to the character

I remember Linda was originally tied to Javier..the antagonist. But she helped out the police with catching Javier..and she stayed as a talk to thereafter before being phased out. I know Javier was the one to get Rachel hooked on drugs..and it seemed like the show was pushing them as a toxic couple...but I think the actress playing Rachel wasn't accepted by the audience (she'd been recast) and was written out quickly. I do wonder how Andrea Evan's would have paired if she returned during this more gritty era. She did well in the more low key late 70s era of OLTL when it was still psychological and a bit gritty so I think she might have adjusted to this era. And Gabrielle...not sure how she would have faired. Fiona did do well on GL in the late 90s being in the Cooper orbit..so maybe she could have done well in the Angel Square era of OLTL.

Parks and Rec in the top 10? Hell no.

She could have stayed on long term...she would have been an interesting spoiler to Mason/Julia. It's a shame that drugs took over her life....she had so much potential.

The one thing PB's Jack did capture was the sarcasm TL infused Jack with. Also, early PB's Jack was more elegant than sensual/sexy.

The thing about Ramona is she's reality TV gold. She inserts foot in mouth and she provides fodder for the other women to react to. When I heard Eboni was joining, my 1st thought was how Ramona would react to her, how she would insert foot in mouth and how Eboni would react to her. Season 5's one saving grace was how Carole, Aviva, and Heather would react to Ramona (and their reactions were memorable). Vicki G on OC didn't illicit that type of response.... but Tamra did. Season 14 of OC would have worked had Tamra remained imho. And would have been interesting to see how Elizabeth and Tamra would have meshed.

I'm stoked! My mom used to talk of the trials of Peggy...and how seeing Peggy and Roger marriage fail made her realize that no one can change a man unless he wants to change. GL used to have the long suffering nurse character ranging from Peggy to Katie to Lillian to Annie.

If Marie could fix her wifi issues after the 1st interview, so can Frank. I did love how Marie realized who Nancy was on Matlock, and all the talk of older 70s and 80s family shows

Paul/Cassandra... and the George Rawlins saga was what got the show to #1. And I did like how when Paul faked his death...Victor comforted Nikki..and was conflicted because he knew Paul was alive and couldn't tell his ex Nikki. And Carl/Mary were featured quite well during the story while we never knew how involved Cassandra was in her hubby's death. After all, didn't he want to kill Paul and that served as a motive for pinning the murder on Paul?

Kristen didn't accept Ramona's apology...and it was semi genuine. It was the one time I was happy an issue wasn't just swept under the rug. Husbands make NJ...imho. and I didn't realize how much I missed the pigtails till Margaret was sporting them

NY 5 wouldn't be too small a number if the original format of their day to day lives were focused on in addition to group dynamics. And it sounds like TPTB agree since Heather and Bershawn join later. Leah is evil. She and Ramona look the same age still. Dallas: Kary obviously assumed D'andra was like Leeanne...boy was she wrong. And I knew @Taoboiwould like the shade D'andra threw at Stephanie. Kam is offended by Tiffany correcting her because that was her niche. (Miss manners 21st century gone wrong). And her lecturing Tiffany about micro aggressions against Asians....Wow..no words.

I think it depends on when one first started watching GL. For me, my earliest memories was 1984/5... and thinking it was a cool show. But I would say 1989 to 1993 was the period I most enjoyed. My college room mate thought fall 1998 to 1999 was pretty good (he was intrigued with Blake and was surprised that Sherry Stringfield previously played the part).

I don't understand why the show didn't move his character out of Kelly's orbit? I'd forgotten that he first encountered Julia when he showed up. Not sure why that angle didn't get explored more.

Bert and HB....now that would have been fun.

Kenya had my attention. I didn't know Kyle was there tbh..same as with BH. She's as useless as Stephanie on Dallas. Teresa looked as confused as always. Ramona..never change lol Cynthia and Luann were just chilling.

I don't know if Marland could have written Maggie well..tbh. She didn't seem like a character he could have written well.

Wasn't Addie thought dead when Dorian was really young? If so, she became the de facto older sister to Melinda. Melinda and Addie both struggled with mental illness, but in different ways. Melinda had years where she did live a semi normal life..and I could have bought Kelly being her daughter...but maybe she should been older (closer to Cassie's age)

I will say watching some of summer 1984, Bert was featured quite a few times..even saying Philip was acting like a jerk to Beth lol The show did lose something when Charita passed. Even in those last weeks she was on,she was the center of the show. I would have loved to have seen her reaction to India..and had more than one scene with Alexandra.

Now I get Leah's remark about Heather being lucky there was a camera since it means had there not been..Leah would have done way worse than assault her. Why exactly was Leah so popular last season?

From what I recall, Dan and Roseanne gave Becky money to go back to school...and she instead enrolled Mark in school. And he failed out of school and wouldn't go back. Ever since season 1 of OG Roseanne, Becky always was drawn to the bad boy and was willing to do anything to be with him (remember how she snuck out in season 1 in 8th grade for a guy?).
