  1. The scenes I've seen of her 1st replacement were good (SUSAN harney). However, when she left in 1979..the character should have been rested until Ms. Courtney was available to return.
  2. Clayton Norcross and Winsor Harmon both had chemistry with KKL. I couldn't imagine Carrie Mitchum's Donna doing all the honey bear stuff with Eric, or cat fighting with Pam.
  3. Guiding Light: The golden age of 1991 to 1993 was good, but I much prefer the Pam Long years. More heart and enjoyable. EON: Lee Sheldon wasn't a bad head writer. Skye and Raven were over rated ATWT: Lucy Deakins, Heather rattray, and Noelle Beck were better Lily's than Martha Byrne.
  4. I think Lemay's original instinct that Steve/Rachel/Alice was played out was correct. Anytime a story is dragged out, characters are diminished.
  5. Garcelle should have one of her friends on the show...but maybe she isn't willing to risk that friendship.
  6. It seemed like Cendrella had to move away from the Steve/Alice/Rachel story..partly due to Jacqueline Courtney taking time off the show. It kind of appeared that Rachel kind of moved on somewhat to Ted. I know Vicky Wyndham came in to play the last months of that marriage. Did Lemay resort to Rachel chasing Steve again, or was that already in place when he took over?
  7. The only one I rooted for was Eleni when she was held hostage by George
  8. I think the pill would work best for >65 year olds and the immunocompromised. However, I would also put some of the vaccinated in the lacking common sense field. Too consumed with fear...just as much as the unvaccinated.
  9. I always thought it was short sighted to kill Ivana even though it was a good story with Macy fighting Anthony for the gun..and Sally being shot. Mid 90s is the last time the show had multiple stories going on.
  10. Unfortunately Cecile became too campy when early Cecile was more lethal and successful at her schemes.
  11. AW: I much preferred Carmen Duncan as Iris over Beverlee McKinsey. ATWT I liked Katie (fluffy). Santa Barbara: I didn't like Julia and Mason as end game. Felt it diminished her character. Ryan's hope: The Ryan's weren't all that interesting as a family especially after a few years.
  12. I wonder if Kimberlin and husband sided with Michael Tyler during that event over Hunter
  13. From doing a rewatch, I enjoyed when all 3 were tight...witches of Eastwick style. @Cheap21 didn't the show tease Drew vs Kenya? From what I recall Kenya dragged her with less effort than she dragged Porsha
  14. I wish I could find the scene of Cynthia trying to teach Mynique how to read and explaining that Phaedra had read her even if she didn't think so. Guess Kenya was right again....Porsha has nothing interesting to say unless there is a **ck in it. Now that Kenya vs Porsha is over...and Cynthia no longer is bringing the looks. What is left? Drew also needs to say she's leaving as well
  15. I will say I actually liked Barbara Crompton as Mindy. It's just that the show kept her in the Nick.and Alexandra too long. The last few months of her stint, she felt more like Mindy..and had a good rapport with Robert Newman at Lewis Oil when she was working there..and had chemistry with MOL (who came back a few weeks before she left). I would have preferred Simms be the Mindy to make visits in the last several years. She had matured Mindy..and I always felt KT regressed Mindy maturity wise.
  16. I remember my mom telling me later that she was in complete shock to see Jacqueline Courtney with short dark hair.. and saying that seemed wrong LOL
  17. And I figured the Lumina story was also supposed to include Marley since he mentioned being intrigued with her..and wishing to know more about her. And didn't Felicia vanish, only to be found in a different costume as well?
  18. Sometimes characters that were supporting in one story became the main player in the follow up. Bobbie Gerald was a minor player in the Emily pregnancy story..with a more supportive role in the Bryson story..before becoming a bigger player in the faux Sky Whitney story. Same with Emily and her maid...each played a big role in future mysteries once the initial Draper amnesia story concluded(and I think the Emily thread was dropped before its natural conclusion thanks to Draper/April leaving and the writers strike).
  19. Strasser I've seen give subtle performances (i.e. in a miniseries called Baby M)...and her Dorian when she came back in 1993 was loads more low key. Jess Walton was more subdued as Kelly on Capital. But she did make Jill more OTT the longer she played her. And I did see Lucci play more subdued in a few of her tv movies (double edge and Bride in Black). I wonder if playing the same role for so long, the actresses play them more broad to keep from being bored?
  20. Sky and Raven were annoying and helped killed Edge of night Marland was only good as head writer on ATWT for only the first two years. And his dialogue..yikes..so unrealistic. Claire Labine should have been removed as head writer before 1981. Cruz and Eden were over rated on Santa Barbara.
  21. I assumed it was an ABC mandate to de age the character. I think I read somewhere that Karen Gorney auditioned in 1981 for it..but she was deemed too old. I think she was 9 or 10 years older than Jayne...and 7 or 8 years younger than Maeve.
  22. Lisa Sloan seemed more mature as Nicole than Jayne was. She wasn't quite as sophisticated and mature as Maeve's Nicole...but she was moreso than Jayne's.
  23. @Cat, @Taoboi Sutton...if I didn't love her already...I'd love her just for being close friends to the iconic Jennifer Tilly. And there is photo evidence of this on Jennifer's Instagram.
  24. I remember when the show toyed with pairing Brooke with Conner Davis. It was interesting seeing him pursue her, compliment her, etc. Her reaction was priceless because she had been pursuing Ridge and Eric...so she wasn't used to having someone pursue her. Shame the show was insistent on keeping her stagnant
  25. From the clips I've seen, Henrietta had a unique presence. I think I recall Carl Hutchins also trying to take over her pie business to stick it to Mac. Did her character run it's course, or were there other avenues to explore with her character? Quinn was sexy and her voice was soothing. She could have easily fit into the late 80s/early 90s AW
