Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Jersey does it right with the looks...tailoring the color theme to their personality. Dallas: How did Stephanie not here of Dallas? She would have been 10 or 11 when the show ended. Even I as a small child in the 80s recalled the show. D'andra needs to not call her mom before doing anything major. Her husband is a saint lol

Dallas Discussion Thread
Sue Ellen in later seasons did display some humor..and I think Pamela was an awesome character even during the victim years (due to Victoria Principal's likability). Pamela leaving threw the show off balance...Jr vs Pamela was a consistent thread throughout the show...and no one really replaced Pamela despite the show changing April's grey character into a goody goody

Kary may have an ugly personality, but she is beautiful. Stephanie's dress looked like a grandma dress in the pic D'andra has the Katherine Parker (Working Girl) vibe going on with her outfit. I mean she did steal Leeanne's look and story after all Kam looks like she's going to Prom Tiffany looks nice. Brandi is motivation to quit drinking. Drinking plus a newborn, toddler, and 2 mouthy girls...no wonder she looks older than 42.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Problem with Drew was that she tried too hard. First seasons should be about being yourself, being authentic, and observing the crazy around them. Also, Drew just lacks charisma or the wow factor in photos..and in her talking heads. With Nene gone, the show needed to find someone interesting to help with the transition (i.e. Porsha and Kenya in season 5) and they failed. I can't recall any successful new additions since season 5 on Atlanta. Potomac: I'm ready to hide...but I don't like Karen.

Coronavirus/Covid-19 Discussion Thread
I prepared for side effects both of my Pfizer doses since I had Covid last May/June. Dose #1 was done on 3.17.2021 (St Patricks Day, plus got my stimulus check)... 99.4 temp the next day, stiff arm, and slept 10 hours that night.. and felt better by the 19th. Dose #2 was done on 4.7.2021 (Got my tax refund on that day LOL).. 99.4 temp the next day, no arm pain, but slept 8 hours... than within an hour after waking up (after having a cup of coffee) I fell asleep again and slept for another 6 hours. Good as new by the 48 hour mark. So I'm almost fully vaccinated... it's surreal.

I noticed on SFT that the writing team switched. I wonder if that had any impact on the Jennifer killing Eunice story and aftermath?

I always believed in strength in numbers...so Porsha and Kandi both could have banded together..but Porsha is just not a nice person. I recall during Kenya vs Kim Fields..lots of people despised Kenya. However, I have the ability to be objective and the fact is...Kim Fields is condescending and talked down to everyone..and she and her hubby gave off a weird vibe to me. So even when Kenya is right, the audience won't believe her because its Kenya. She was right about Porsha, Nene, Phaedra, Apollo, Kim F, and Kim Z. Also, Kenya isn't a villianess... she's the anti heroine.

Coronavirus/Covid-19 Discussion Thread
Problem with Brazil is that the president seems unconcerned with Covid whatsoever.. so even if we helped Brazil.. it could be to no avail. From what I've read, it sounds like Pfizer might not be strong enough to protect fully from the South African strain.. though it appears the majority that have been fully vaccinated have gotten milder symptoms to almost no symptoms. I did read that Moderna's booster shot research with mice has been promising, while continuing booster shot trials with people.... and tentatively might have a booster shot for Moderna by fall for the variants.

Is this a surprise? Remember how he treated Joyce in season 4 of BH?

I was surprised Chelsea/Philip were planned all the way back when Bolger was playing him. His Philip was more suave and less tortured..I recall. I'm excited for the Harley Jane K reunion. She and Michael Woods played siblings on Texas...and than on GL they were teased as a couple when she was married to his brother Tony lol

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Before filming of season 5 paused last spring...Jackie opted to leave to start a family, Gina was back, and Lydiot had opted to return once Jackie left. And only 3 newbies were hired. A lot has changed since Covid..and maybe Gina took stock of her life and decided reality tv wasn't for her anymore and opted to leave when filming was set to resume. Just a theory. @Taoboi Kameron is just..well Kameron. While the pet psychic was a bit extreme...I do recall her little one passed while she was on a trip. So she's feeling guilt and a lack of closure since she didnt get to say good bye. Kary is entitled...and I think it stems from being a child of an alcoholic...and she seems a little too eager to drink..which concerns me a bit. D'andra has a fascinating family life..and I think having Jeremy in her life helps give it some light.

Would it have been better to have rested the character of Liza for a bit instead of quickly recasting? Sherry Mathis seemed so identified with the role that anyone stepping in would have struggled..imho.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
With Kathy Hilton on the show, I don't think Kyle will truly win. Kyle was over showed by Kim as child actresses, by LVP and Kim on the show, and now big sister Kathy will be on part time...and is getting buzz and a little focus on the trailer. Kyle wants to be adored and #1...but never can attain that...so she loses.

Crystal comes across like a bitch. She's also friends with Maria Arena Bell...so I side eye anyone that's friends with her...just like I side eyed Kyle being friends with Faye resnick Sutton vs Crystal seems promising though. And I would have demoted Erika. Keeping her diamond is like rewarding a child for bad behavior.

I haven't kept up with Atlanta this season..but what was the reason for Drew getting a peach? She doesn't seem memorable at all..and seems like she's trying too hard (based on interviews I've seen of her)

Dallas: Kary and Brandi filmed the reunion virtually because Kary has covid..and Brandi sat next to her on the plane. Silver lining is Andy can mute them:)

Characters you think writers struggled to write for
I think the Bianca coming out story was the last time Erica was written as a fully realized character. I loved the irony that Bianca was exactly like Mona..and continuing the tradition of mother/daughter conflict. If we're talking of a character AMC had trouble writing...it was Jack. He was Erica's + 1...in the same way as Dixie was Tad's +1. Anytime the show tried to write Jack outside of the Erica orbit..it never worked. Either cause of lack of chemistry and/or effort from the writers.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Watching Jersey always reminds me of how the OC used to be in the first nine season. Fun moments, husbands that were interesting(not necessarily likable though), family scenes, and some good fights. I'm hoping during OC's hiatus, the producers study old episodes..and watch NJ to remind them of what they once were. And I co-sign that Evan is eye candy. Can he still appear even if Jackie is dropped? Also, while it's nice Sutton got the best diamond on BH, I'm still remembering how well Brandi came across in her friend of season..and how nasty she was once she got a diamond. So proceed with caution. I haven't watched Atlanta this season..but seeing Drew in interviews...why was she given a peach? She doesn't pop nor have that special thing that makes you want to watch. Season 14 needs another revamp..imho

When Kary was slamming Charles..she also was slamming Stephanie since she's from Oklahoma. I was surprised Stephanie even said anything..tbh

Guiding Light Discussion Thread
And I thought Jim and Hilary made a good couple as well. When watching Reva's slut of Springfield episode...Jim/Hilary were featured as well..talking about their relationship and where each wanted it to go. Shame the show killed Hilary off...while Jim languished for a few months before being written off. Least the show could have done was have them leave together so Hilary could have returned later.

News & Gossip from the mid-1980s per The Soaps of Yesterday
It seemed like once Ryder was solo..that's when the show went off the rails. And I wonder if he would have listened to his writers or not that might have given him info on characters to use, etc. He seemed dismissive of the Bauers...and I doubt he would have done Nola justice even if Lisa brown opted to come back. How was Simon on Search?
