So much of those final years for both ATWT and GL had some of the most preposterous affairs.

Looking back, Guiding Light had a few well written ones... Ed/Rita/Alan/Hope Holly/Ross/Blake Mindy/Roger/Alexandra ...and also a few not so well written ones Blake and Rick which resulted in the twins Rick and Beth while Rick was married to Mel. ETA: So-so Beth and Phillip sleeping together after their plane crash/avalanche. Looking back it wasn't so bad, the subsequent blackmail, tying to Lizzie's cancer, the story had ripple effects for a good 2-3 years, even playing out at the Bauer BBQ when Phillip found out Rick and Harley slept together which produced Jude.

Oh wow, I hadn't thought about the writers strike. I wondered why a few of the recently episodes were recapping(using flashbacks) stuff that had already been revealed.

I'm enthralled with these recent uploads from the Nancy kidnapping storyline. Honestly other than a non-US soap that I frequently watch, these EDGE uploads are the only US soap I'm watching these days.

The show clearly underestimated the idea of Trina and Spencer, and clearly now with a large following, the show does not know what to do with them. Trina and Spencer are just another one of Dan and Chris's dangling threads, like the Hayden mystery(which involves the murder of her mom).

These anniversary episodes seem to be a low budget version of Final Destination.
