  1. He seems to have been a casualty of the show wrapping up the whole story with Ava and Kristina. I would rather not see him wasted in the dross Martin gets, but they should do more with him while they have him.
  2. Totally forgot this was today.
  3. True. Tame isn't a bad thing in some cases - the emotions were there, a sense of love and connection. I prefer it to Joss and her romps.
  4. That was a nicely done scene. Compared to some past years it was tame, but for today's climate I thought it managed to be tasteful yet also sexy, with genuine chemistry between the actors carrying the moment.
  5. I remember that meeting Kim mentioned where JFP told her the show didn't need Reva anymore. I'm sure it must have been very satisfying for Kim to be asked back (even if the story was putrid).
  6. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-features/george-rr-martin-interview-thrones-winds-dragon-knight-1236473519/ If you can skim through a lot of GRRM angst this has some details about the extremely grimdark Jon Snow prequel that never was and attempts to revive the show, possibly including Arya (for the moment Kit Harington doesn't seem interested).
  7. That artist did not love Lucy... (courtesy of the @televisionaryzw.bsky.social account)
  8. Long was also completely overridden by JFP, probably even more than Labine was at GL. So many writers had their voices snuffed out. I guess one positive of GL's last decade was most of the writers had their own voices...but a few of those voices I didn't want to hear.
  9. That would have been a fun idea. (and they couldn't have cast Red Buttons in that part)
  10. Oh I'm not complaining - and they still give Sonny his fair share. Just surprising to see, especially with Carly. It's their own fault for making the character too powerful and too audacious. Just building a brick wall around her.
  11. 44 years ago today (give or take a few hours), Laura vanishes. GENERAL HOSPITAL - JANUARY 15 1982 FULL ABC W/ ORIGINAL COMMERCIALS Who is the woman with Tiffany. She looks familiar to me. Oh right it's Nita Talbot. Forgot she was already mentioned.
  12. Thanks @Soapsuds For a character I had no interest in, I do have a lot of questions, like whether they planned a Mark/Lily pairing, what he thought of the treehouse stuff, T Jones, the Connor recast, having to cut his hair, if he blames cutting his hair for being fired, and so on. I doubt most of that would be talked about though.
  13. That Olivia/Holly story sounds much more interesting to read about, although I'm sure Maureen would have played the hell out of it. I would have been interested in seeing Claire write for Lisa Brown, but Mae, Stacey, or a de-aged Trudy Bauer, that character was never staying around long.
  14. I think she needed strong partners. She seemed to have that at GH, and of course RH. She wrote some beautiful individual moments at GL and OLTL, but the shows themselves spun wildly out of control.
  15. Sonny would have done and said much worse to Alexis once upon a time. This story just reminds me again how left behind Sonny and Carly feel, especially Carly. I don't think she has a single genuine relationship on the current canvas.
  16. She brought mob stories into all her soaps, even when they were not on the canvas at the time of her arrival (like OLTL).
  17. Rauch likely sabotaged her, but I think her work was just too dark (and yet simultaneously aimless). I can believe she didn't get all of her own ideas on - I can't imagine her wanting to write for San Cristobel - but most of the mob material seemed like her and I thought it was unwatchable. Cigarette girl Mae and the questionable decision to make Blake into Lucy Coe also seemed like her. She did use Mary Stuart very effectively, along with characters like Claire (maybe the longest-running GL character that no one ever seemed to know what to do with).
  18. He missed her by about half a year, I think.
  19. Along with Derek Martin, a few more Classic Who losses. Tina Packer - Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marcus_Gilbert_(actor) Gilbert has an upcoming Big Finish release where he reprises his Battlefield role.
  20. I don't watch enough to know well either. I looked up Holly and see she is the daughter of Nicole and Daniel, two characters we will never see again, so that alone tells me there's no need for her. Tate was likely aged to give Brady more story and for a generic teen scene, but Brady seems overexposed as it is. Boatman has one of the nicer bodies on any soap in a while. The half-claims that they were going to spice up DAYS content for Peacock were never believable but now they've been fully nailed shut.
  21. I think the DNA of GL was damaged before either story. Both stories went on for too long, although it's not until the Labines that the stories truly sour on me. I think because they tried to add a grit which was just ugly rather than increasing the depth. The SC characters added more to the canvas than the mob, where, aside from getting to see Miriam Colon do her thing, the only positive was Paul Anthony Stewart. Olivia, Edmund, and to a degree, Richard were all good additions. I liked the Richard/Cassie relationship and Bradley Cole as the dashing prince, even if the inherent racism and colonialism in the SC story was noticeable at the time, let alone now. As others said, the nadir is Cole as Jeffrey. That character, and hambone Jonathan, are the moments I'd say corroded what was left of the show's DNA. No matter how much Rauch and B&E loved Annie, they knew she was not the rooting party. Jeffrey and Jonathan were somehow meant to be our heroes. It was like two Todd Mannings being dumped into Springfield. (yes, there was Roger, but the show was always much more honest about Roger than they ever were about those two pieces of [!@#$%^&*])
  22. This is one of the choices that suggests there was little left for Lilimae on the canvas. I just wish they had given her a better exit and that Valene had been a stronger character to where losing her mother would not encourage the show to make her increasingly dumb and irrelevant.
  23. Finally, the end of this story, the final moments having Laurie Ann going home with her parents. I wonder if the other patient with Liz and the one who died (Maria) being Laurie Ann was not the original plan and was something that Lee Sheldon changed when they knew the show was ending. Do any of you know? Judith Barcroft does some wonderful work here. And happy birthday to Sharon Gabet.
