  1. I do wish we'd seen more of the guests, but given that it was her show and she was helping AW with publicity I can't blame her. Knowing how much she loved her husband and her mother it warmed my heart a little seeing them. Thanks @watson71 . I'd never seen any of the party, never saw that clip either.
  2. Thanks for letting us know. That explains some of the rare clips. Very kind of them to do this for Andrea's memory and for fans.
  3. Lucas' reaction was very funny. It was one of those moments that gay indie movies from the '90s or early '00s would have imagined for a soap. So hard to imagine this is the same character Ryan Carnes played. I would say Ron would have had fun with those scenes but Lucas wasn't sexually harassing straight men... I saw someone on Twitter saying they wished this was the Guza era as he would have slapped her back. I wouldn't have wanted that here, but I guess a lot of people will always miss that certain dark energy his '00s run had compared to the show since.
  4. I do hope they upload everything themselves. They always delete the old episodes from Youtube anyway, although I imagine these will not have the pop songs that were often in the earlier episodes, which takes away the flavor. The old theme is exquisite, especially the closing credits. That they've had the current godawful version for 15 years tells you all you need to know about everything in that period of time.
  5. 5-6 minutes into this you get the very funny fight scene with Josh and Kelly. It gets funnier any time I watch.
  6. Nick did have some interaction with Michael, but not enough to warrant making him Michael's son. The most interesting element was after Michael died and Donna began to turn to Nick. The show never would have gone there but I was kind of hoping they'd sleep together.
  7. I remember Michael Logan and others at the time complaining about the story, saying Sharon Wyatt was sitting around doing nothing (and then fired) while dogs had storyline. Did they ever say what happened to them? For some reason I thought Luke mentioned Foster dying.
  8. They should have brought Clarice back. Maybe they could have brought her and Robert's son in for the teen scene. After learning the full extent of the Robert/Iris relationship, his warmth toward her was tough to believe, but I did appreciate Iris having someone in her corner for that night.
  9. If any of you are big fans of the Fox sitcom Costello, you're in luck, as three unaired episodes (along with a few others that did air) have been uploaded by Costello herself, with more on the way. At least it's nice to see Jenny O'Hara and Dan Lauria. Does anyone know who the two double date guys are in the Double Date episode? The comic relief one in particular is familiar to me.
  10. I didn't think Marley becoming obsessed with him was bad in of itself because she was clearly not in her right mind and they did even discuss the rape (I think the actors insisted), but they did a poor job with the aftermath by having him be such an [!@#$%^&*] to her rather than sympathizing. Jake and Vicky definitely should have just stayed friends.
  11. When someone asked on Reddit I remember other responses being a Native American episode and one with Jenny Lewis involving a piano teacher.
  12. Danielle's the performer I remember most from the show. I had no idea just how much she'd suffered in her life. I hope all the animals she'd cared for over the years were there waiting for her, along with her friends and family.
  13. Thanks. That partial 12/18/86 is a nice little missing piece.
  14. Thanks for all the time you're taking. I also watched the partial ATWT from that same day which I didn't see on Youtube.
  15. This episode is up on Youtube in partial form but I don't see the full one that was just put on Archive. Capitol 1986-12-16 : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive
  16. @dc11786 I was so looking forward to your thoughts on these clips and episodes. I wouldn't have even considered the comparisons to Ellis' Search work as I have not watched most of it. I suppose both he and Nixon would have common ground in their takes on that prostitute trope. You are absolutely right that many of these stories would have improved with Curtis' involvement. Maybe he was just too complicated for them to write. I love the idea of Rick being Mike Donovan's son. They never do much of anything with Clay being his father anyway. As @Kane mentioned, Shana falls down the stairs. This episode has a flashback. I do wonder what the pre-strike plans would have been for Shana and Jim. Did SOD do spring previews at that time? I wonder what they would have been for most of the stories. By that point they'd already brought in Mark Pinter, who is a charisma void in most of his roles, so that wasn't a great start. I have never quite connected to the Lily recast, so I'm going to need to watch some of the scenes you kindly pointed out to help me understand her more. It would have helped if they hadn't written her out by the end of the year instead of trying to develop her. I wonder if they had Cecilia shot as well as miscarrying was to have viewers feel sorry for her, which just makes me wonder even before if Colleen Dion abruptly left. The mention of the strong little scenes makes me think of the scene where Ava quietly says goodbye to the boarding house right before she gets married. Roya and a subtle presentation help you to forget Ava had already "escaped" that place twice before with rich men, but it's also some good dramatic irony for when we learn she isn't even marrying a real Alden. One moment I like in the clips from right before the wedding is Alex showing support to "Annie" over not wanting to attend the ceremony due to Harry. The story of Alex being much nicer or nastier to certain members of the family than Clay always interests me. I wonder if Ann even has much interaction with the real Clay before she leaves Corinth. These old Ava/Alex clips take place in the 1987 material.
  17. Happy that he sees their chemistry too. I did think his contract move was odd as he is clearly still in story rather than being dumped. Glad to know it was his choice. Thanks @Liberty City
  18. The Wiki doesn't seem to give a reason for the change other than her deciding that mass poisoning went too far, but they probably missed something. Geez I had no idea about any of that with the actor who played Antonio. It feels extremely spiteful. And the ending of her forcing herself to believe that Antonio is her soulmate after everything with Luis is almost like JER admitting just how toxic living your life based on a "soulmate" is.
  19. We did know it was coming, but unless ABC has heard they will take the case, I wish they hadn't run this story. Now if they don't (yet), people will again be naive and complacent, even though it's obvious they are overturning gay marriage within the next few years. I deeply dislike the gossipy and empty tone of that reporting, especially the framing that somehow implies it is justified to overturn gay marriage because public sentiment is "softening." And they don't even bother to show any of the evidence, which they could, given the election results and some polling over the last few years. Instead, they just all but say that because the Southern Baptists and "nine states" are mobilizing (are those states mobilizing themselves? who is doing that in these states?), overturning is understandable. They seem almost disappointed at any possibility of the cast not being taken up. Much of the media has long been anti-gay or at the very least partial to bigots who platform anti-gay views as some bastion of "real America," and they struggle to hide it. I still remember ABC News and their big "expose" about Matthew Shephard and how he wasn't killed due to being gay.
  20. I'm glad when the show remembers Tracy and Cody. That and Tracy's bond with Stella were my favorite parts of Mulcahey's brief return.
  21. Those are great ideas, incorporating Sonny's decline and reformation, along with an AJ return. This could also put use to the story they did nothing with about Carly being reported to the feds by Nina. Maybe have somebody embezzling from various rich GH characters too and that could be used as part of an umbrella story.
  22. I'd always be glad to see Sarah. Maybe regarding money, they could do a story that a lot of "rich" people go through where her money is all tied up, she has bad investments, and she has to keep up appearances. She might end up going into debt, and if they want another story about a mysterious rich person taking over the city like Stefan back in the day, he or she might end up taking over her properties.
  23. They have put Carly in such a box to the point where it now feels like a coffin. Laura Wright has always had a very strong presence, but she doesn't really have any interesting relationships left with her family or with her ex-lovers, and she is surrounded by wealthy and powerful people so that means the story I wanted to see (her losing everything and having to rebuild) wouldn't work now. I don't even know what you could do with Carly anymore. It would be extremely crass, and the show wouldn't be able to handle it but the only thing I could think of is if she gets some kind of brain injury and becomes a different person. I know they did that with Jason, but at least that would be some dramatic irony and he'd be around to see how it feels on the other side.
  24. Impossible to believe this is the same character for most of the show's run, although Mackenzie Westmore does a good job with such a hideously dark turn. Needless to say this is all one big trigger warning...
  25. Thanks @Huntress for keeping us in the loop. I'd have no idea otherwise. I'm glad Germany is still trying new soaps, as most places aren't.
