  1. Thanks again @Reverend Ruthledge Was Irna still the main writer at this time? Interesting to see focus on therapy for Bill, Bert and Mike as this was still a period where therapy could be mocked in entertainment. I wonder if this was the first TV soap to focus on therapy. Mike really was a mess when he was growing up. They seemed to pass those traits onto Ed and clean Mike by the mid/late '60s. They should have brought Helen into Robin's story later on (unless she was killed off). Given that they only had 15 minutes a day, I'm surprised they managed to juggle several stories while still getting used to the format. It seems like Search in these years still mostly focused on Jo. There's so much focus on going back and forth to New York. I wonder if they ever considered moving the characters to New York. I wonder why they didn't have them there originally instead of LA, if there was a reason why they were situated in LA.
  2. The Mark Of Quality (1967) An educational film starring Jed Allan. @jam6242 @vetsoapfan @slick jones @Wendy
  3. Never mind that LA Law was proof his career hadn't been destroyed... I don't remember if she even did anything else. A shame as I liked Abby back then.
  4. Thanks. I thought that was him. I never really thought of Jim as being a male lead of the show, but maybe he was seen that way in these years.
  5. A 1962 Desilu pilot with Bobby Rydell (my favorite of that risible prefab teenybopper era), James Dunn, Frank Cady, and Stefanie Powers. It's charming fluff - and you get to see Stefanie learn how to do the Twist. Swingin’ Together (1962) – Bobby Rydell, Rock ’n’ Roll & the Twist in TV Pilot with Stefanie Powers!
  6. Thanks @soapfan770 I was probably watching Dear John around this time, although I barely remember the show. That lesbian kiss stunt episode is so typical of the era and set up so many other similar stunts. They were lucky they didn't have to deal with any of the unhinged shipper types back then. Both actresses deserved better.
  7. The show wasted Nadine so much in her last few years on the canvas. It still annoys me decades later. All for a story most viewers didn't seem to care about. I think people accepted Buzz over time, but I'm not sure he was ever a favorite for many.
  8. Thanks. I couldn't remember if Russell was a part of that too.
  9. A late 1969 promo for NBC daytime. Just a title card, but I thought it might interest you.
  10. A late 1969 promo for the NBC Daytime lineup. Just a title card but I thought it may interest you.
  11. This is a promo for the NBC Daytime lineup in late 1969. Just title cards, but I thought it might still interest you.
  12. Was A.J. Russell the writer who came up with Ice Princess? I wonder if he had any role with Lucy too - she reminds me a little of some of the women of that period, like Tiffany (just darker than Tiffany).
  13. That was a good promo for a story that stalled out so much. Even if they were surprised by KS' break they should have had the Nathan mystery still going - having more focus on James not connecting with him, Spinelli's instincts saying something is wrong and everyone just convincing him he was not being rational.
  14. That seems to be from the grueling DL story. I still don't know if the show needed that story (and it does seem out of step for the rest of the show in that era, as has been mentioned). I watched a clip from the Laurelton Frisco and Felicia clips with Terry finding a dead body in their living room and doing the most OTT wailing and sobbing as Bobbie races downstairs and has to console her. It's just a test to watch and does seem like an odd fit for Bobbie. I suppose this is the end result of getting rid of any older women not named Lila.
  15. That would be a blast. So many soap feuds could go on there. @Soapsuds By the time they tell him who they are and hear about his own personal and family experiences the interview would be over...so maybe that actually would be a good way to make peace.
  16. @slick jones Not sure if this is something you'd add to your files, but Joe Campanella does the narration for this 1974 educational film, Weight Training For Every Body. Weight Training For Every Body (1974)
  17. I've seen more fan passion about this beef than anything on DAYS in several years. They should pay SR and DH to do a sit-down interview.
  18. @alwaysAMC Thanks for the summary! I hadn't watched yet because, while I think Alan has gotten a bit too much hate at times, I feel like his interviewing abilities have gotten even worse. The last few I watched (Jean LeClerc and Alex Walters) were enough to make me put those on pause. I agree he has likely no history with these soaps and doesn't seem to want to try. I'm glad Wilson was such a great guest and that Chris Bruno had a lot to offer too. Bruno could have easily just stopped talking about this story given today's climate.
  19. Yes - recreating long gone episodes is something that might interest me, if technology improves enough to make that viable.
  20. A late January 1986 promo.
  21. From what I remember, it's a bit dull.
  22. The woman at the start looks familiar too.
