  1. Clearly Cassie paved the way for the non-blonde gals. (and that relationship was so horrible she cured him on younger women, for about a decade anyway)
  2. Thanks @Vee Jake appeared so infrequently by this point I didn't realize he was used in a fantasy sequence.
  3. Thanks for sharing what was in Susan's book. Sounds good and no holds barred. I'm glad they could mend fences. I suppose all that started around the time of some of the cosmetic surgery McTavish alleged with RSW...also such a fun period of time that Hillary asked the show to kill Nora off.
  4. The show seemed to lose interest in male/female friendships by the '90s, aside from Alex and Buzz for a while (Bridget and David were spoilt by having him fall in love with her). I'm glad Reva and Philip got to have a scene together when he returned from the dead.
  5. I can see it, but I think her hairstyle makes a difference. It's also just an odd photo, aside from the graininess. Thanks for the article @jam6242
  6. That is what I was thinking of, yes. He joked about crawling in the vents or something.
  7. I don't watch the show, but I watched some clips of his romance on there and he does a wonderful job with the whole stoic widower finding new love routine, especially when he told this woman that if his wife came back from the dead he would still choose her, even though she was less attractive than this woman (which on paper sounds awful but he sold it). He really does look like his parents combined.
  8. I thought Beverlee and Jay had chemistry, but I also got the sense that most of the writing for Fletcher and Alex emphasized how they could never work together. He was more of the man who would never be part of her world, and loudly had to tell her that, even if he did care about her. It made sense to me that they were only together at the very end of the show when she had no reason to obsess about the Spauldings anymore.
  9. Weren't there rumors of some GL actors in the mid/late '00s having fights in a dressing room (or sex in a dressing room, or both)?
  10. That should be on the jacket.
  11. Did any of you read that Lorelei book? My only memory of it was Carolyn Hinsey complaining about the book signing in some context of not being respectful to firefighters post 9/11.
  12. She has a few strong or worthwhile moments but many moments of degradation. Reading the recaps here just remind me of how many...and we're not even in the mid/late '00s yet...
  13. Speaking of DAYS, Susan Seaforth Hayes allegedly did not get on with Brenda Benet and Kaye Stevens, although she may have made up with Brenda before Brenda's suicide. There were rumors that she and Kaye came to blows.
  14. Erika had a lot of respect for Clint but also a lot of problems with him, understandably so (at one point he accidentally hit her with a chair). I know Michael Levin had an up and down relationship with Kate too. I didn't realize Catherine Hicks had such beef with her. I will have to look for that. I think she may have been friends with Ilene Kristen too but I may be wrong. In the RH thread there was an interview with a guy who worked on the lighting for a number of years. He got there after Kate left. He said Lela Swift, the show's main director, never stopped praising Kate. One day he asked another crew member and said Kate must have been wonderful. The guy said no, they all hated her, or something along those lines.
  15. ATWT: There are any number of rumors swirling around about Colleen Zenk in the '80s, that she did not get along with Hillary Bailey Smith at the time, and that she did not get along with Jacqueline Schultz, the latter allegedly leading to an exit for Ariana Munker, who was tired of their issues. Schultz also left within a few years. OLTL: Jessica Tuck and Joe Lando, IIRC, discussed that they did not get along initially. I think Jessica said that when Megan had to slap Jake in a scene she was happy to do it for real. Clint Ritchie hated BarBara Luna. There were rumors that HBS and Robert S. Woods had issues for years, to the point where production had to push them hard to agree to let Bo and Nora reunite. They got over their differences. B&B: This one was heavily covered by the soap press. Hunter Tylo and Kimberlin Brown were close friends, so much so that they even joked at the time about tabloid speculation that they were lovers. In 1994, Tylo went through an absolutely insane year, including leaving B&B and leaving her husband, Michael Tylo. They later reconciled, with Hunter, IIRC, claiming that while filming a TV-movie she had been bitten by a snake and this caused her to go wild, but her relationship with Kimberlin did not recover as Kimberlin and her husband had sided with Michael during the split. I think there were rumors of restraining orders flying around and bodyguards being hired? Y&R: Jeanne Cooper wrote in her memoir, IIRC, about Melody Thomas Scott not speaking to her for a year or more, and she never knew why. I think some in the cast had issues with Brenda Dickson and Margeurite Ray. Some also had issues with Victoria Rowell and did not treat her well. DAYS: I think Kristain did not get on well with Peter Reckell for a while, but this was nothing in comparison to how she felt about RKK, which is one of the reasons she was fine with him returning. Falcon Crest: Jane Wyman had legendary feuds with Lana Turner and Robert Foxworth. She could not be filmed in scenes with Lana for much of Lana's run due to their tension. She supposedly demanded that her contract let her direct, even though she never intended to do any directing, just because she had learned that he was going to be directing episodes. She also insisted she get a larger trailer when she learned his trailer was larger than hers. Dynasty: Joan Collins and John Forsythe were not close, and the cast was allegedly divided between them.
  16. Zimmer also allegedly had issues with Cynthia Watros and Michelle Forbes. There's a promo (I don't know if it is around now) from 1997 where Reva and Annie were arguing in the nuthouse and a purse goes flying. That was, allegedly, not a scripted scene and someone got confused and put it into a real promo.
  17. Thanks. At least Rick and Annie got a scene I guess. I probably undersold Reva and Josh's part in SC. They are definitely very active in the first months of the story and it leads to serious consequences for their relationship, it's just for how much of the story was initially built around Reva and her past, it gets away from her more than you might expect. Cassie is a big reason, yes.
  18. I still don't understand why they have left Adrienne dead and just kept her doppelganger. Kind of them to keep their charity work for JPL up...
  19. Thanks so much @slick jones The show had such a fantastic guest cast in those anthology years. I wish some of those episodes that survived could be put out. I never knew Mia Farrow guest starred.
  20. This is one of the best '90s challenge/throwback posts I've seen (Isabella Rossellini's is also lovely). I'm very glad she started it with her SNL episode as that's a genuinely strong episode where they write a great deal of wonderful material for her, especially compared to how many hosts are used.
  21. Thanks as always @alwaysAMC Those party guest lists are an example of how generic the show made Reva and Josh by this point. I never remember how friendly Josh and Rick are even meant to be (although they share an ex-wife - speaking of that, did Rick ever react to Annie's return?). I know they were friendly by this point, but I never quite believed Vanessa and Reva could be friendly. There were parts of the San Cristobel story I enjoyed, but Reva probably got the least from it, which is ironic as the whole story is originally about her. Nice of Reva to ask about Holly. They often sort of circle each other. I wish they'd had a story together but even when they interact, they never have the material they could have. I had to laugh at Beth talking with Jim about how long it had been for them sexually when she'd been porking Ben only months earlier.
  22. It's funny you say that as whenever I'd read through SOD at this time, even though I didn't watch a lot of Passions, Simone's fashions would catch my eye.
  23. THE EDGE OF NIGHT - FEBRUARY 17 1981 the Lost Episodes
  24. Considering the mayor likely loves Sonny more than her own kids, I don't find that difficult to believe.
