  1. True. If DAYS can afford her, why not. I think Kristina was best left to just showing up a few times a year and Lexi Ainsworth fans could get their best 2011 on.
  2. Thanks. I can see why. Brook and Donn Swaby got to have much more fun than they ever did the rest of the time.
  3. I wonder if DAYS would want Abby back while Cat is around. I could see her just going to recurring or popping up occasionally on GH and moving more into directing.
  4. Michael and his ex (?) hooker girlfriend nearly !@#$%^&*]ed on Nina's desk.
  5. I always forget about Erica's disco, although I shouldn't due to the iconic shot of her posing in the shower curtain dress. And of course there's GH, sadly famous for one reason only, beyond Richard Simmons.
  6. I think Wired for Sound worked a little better, because by that point GL had a lot of characters I could see going to a disco/supper club, and the set didn't seem as claustrophobic. It's difficult for me to imagine ATWT characters in 1978 going to a disco. Melinda maybe...and Lisa if she was in the right mood, but who else? I suppose Jay might go to get some ass, but that's a whole other version of Oakdale we were not going to be seeing. Annie and Dee by this era would be more likely to drink some milk and tuck in at 8 PM than live their best life to Donna Summer and Sylvester.
  7. Frank Valentini, 2024-2025.
  8. Maybe you can reboot it now. The market seems to be there.
  9. Apparently, this happens for approximately 25 million other Americans too!
  10. Elizabeth getting eyelid mites, complete with Bill Bell-esque PSA dialogue, feels like the writers trolling fans who wanted her to have a storyline. At least it isn't as bad as Corrie years ago where they gave an actress that they were about to fire a nits storyline and she then had to go around with a shaved head that made her look like a Mad Max character.
  11. Not always a bad thing - it is a soap after all - but I'm not too sure about that scene. Sorry if the earlier reference didn't make any sense, but here's Randy: Slim Jim ad with Randy "Macho Man" Savage
  12. Thanks @Maxim That Todd and Marty scene is one I remember being mentioned quite a bit. I forgot Leanne is still there. A character who was surplus to requirements by this point. Ellen Bethea is a treasure. That scene with Asa and Blair is a great example of melodrama for the sake of melodrama. I shouldn't laugh, but Phil Carey sounds just like Macho Man Randy Savage. I kept expecting him to yell for Blair to "snap into a Slim Jim."
  13. @Huntress Thanks for sharing all these channels. UU is geoblocked for me but the rest are available. A shame as I wanted to see what they were doing with Ringo and Easy.
  14. @janea4old Thanks so much for sharing that here. In such a dark world I do hope it helps people, even for a moment.
  15. Thanks for the extra details @Maxim Being ashamed of poverty and her mother and sister is a very old school melodramatic choice but one that is still more common today than you'd think. Something that soaps should tap into instead of the fantasy world of everyone looking perfect. The show has very polished visuals - it looks much better than a lot of stuff on now with their cheap, flat HD and/or being filmed like someone is peeking out from a closet.
  16. A partial 1978 episode came up a few days ago, although that one has been around off and on, I think.
  17. @applcin It's not inappropriate at all. Maybe the Soap Stars Where Are They Now thread could work alongside this one.
  18. Not taking Ric back to being a heel-to-be-damned-by-our-righteous-heroes (yet) has been the most pleasant surprise this year. I hope it lasts.
  19. I can hear it now. They should have done a story where Nancy ran for city council or the PTA board. She would have run them with an iron fist.
  20. Someone should write a story about Nancy and Chris somehow ending up in the disco. Nancy would be aghast. Chris might enjoy himself.
  21. Thanks so much for taking time to find all these clips @Maxim I guess that girl is her daughter? The actress has a way with a sneaky and cold stare. I did love how she brazenly pushed that guy off the construction even with so many people around. That's a true supervillain.
  22. Nice to see you on here again. I hope you had a good Thanksgiving. They aren't "new" per se but there are a few 1979 GL episodes I'd never seen on Youtube in full that I put in that thread, and a partial 1978 episode that I think had been up but hadn't seen in a while. That 1978 ATWT episode that has been put up for years I also put in the ATWT thread, as this was the complete episode, with ads, which I'd never seen before.
  23. It's a really interesting layout change - very eye-catching. I like the different style, especially as we close the year out and bring in a new start.
  24. You aren't wrong, but this also seems to be the way of the future. It may give the soap genre the next kick forward that is needed. I'm also glad they are actually using the word "soap," which is a no-no for some in the industry, to which I say - [!@#$%^&*] those people. Thanks for the article @Vee . Whatever happens I'm glad P&G is back in the soap game, as much as they will ever be. I still like to tell myself this is a fed up Irna Phillips using her supernatural abilities but that's very glib - there are some people at P&G who are seemingly making moves and I appreciate them. This may also mean that BtG is doing well enough for P&G to not pull back yet.
  25. Ah. Shows how much attention I pay. They will probably say Marco has him held prisoner.
