Topics I've Started

  1. Y&R: Victoria Rowell returns to CBS primetime

    Posted 19 Nov 2009

Tweet: Just wrapped with Jennifer Love Hewitt on Ghost Whisperer at Universal yesterday. How appropriate I portrayed a social worker. Had a BLAST!

From her official Twitter page @VictoriaRowell!

Good to see her in a new role. Hopefully this mean she's out there auditioning and getting her name out there again. I hope we start seeing her pop up more regularly in some guest spots then maybe she can score a new primetime series.
  2. ATWT: Eileen Fulton's 50th anniversary wish: Kill Lisa!

    Posted 21 Sep 2009

Of all the vets, she's certainly the most neglected, which is strange since she IS on contract and still recieved top billing. Here's a quote from Daytime Confidential:

    Quote

Once every three months I get to show up to support other storylines. I have a contract until 2010 and that's exactly when I started on As the World Turns 50 years ago. I hope the producers will let Lisa die. A beautiful, exciting storyline and then an ending where everyone will be talking about. That would make me very happy, but I doubt it will happen. I've presented story ideas before, but they were just pushed aside. They might find me difficult, but they don't have the nerve to fire me either.

I agree with her. If they aren't going to use her and she's still on contract, just kill Lisa off. Give her a big story fitting the character and send her off. Maybe her other son (who is much younger than Bob) could return and actually have a storyline. It's a shame they don't use her more, because I think her comedic style works well with the younger actors on the show.
  3. Y&R: Is Kristoff getting fired?

    Posted 8 Sep 2009

Hopefully Nelson or someone else gets an interview with him or that racist EP/HW combo and clears this up! Apparently, Kristoff mentioned on his Facebook page that he'll be taking three months off, not the six weeks he was earlier told. 3 months is just about a contract cycle so they could easily fire him or drop him to recurring. Is that whats coming next?

I think it's obvious that certain vets aren't being featured so we'll forget about them which will make it easier to write them off. I wonder if Kristoff's comments in that interview about how bad the show is now cost him his job? There is no justifiable reason to let an actor have three months off on top of six weeks. He's being paid to sit at home while Neil's daughter has cancer. Why would they write him out of that storyline?

Hmm...I imagine he'll be going to way of Colleen by February sweeps. Shame that Emmy win didn't at least get him an uninspired pity story like Christian LeBlanc got.
  4. Will ATWT be given time to properly end things?

    Posted 15 Aug 2009

SOW is saying that we could learn as soon as December if ATWT is canceled. I think it's a done deal after the CBS press tour comments. Just as I predicted, they'd begin trying and the show would improve dramatically when it's too late. When there was time to fix things Goutman was running away viewers by removing the soap from ATWT (just like they did at GL) and saying viewers don't wanna watch five days a week. But if their time is up in March of 2010 and they tape two months in advance, is that enough time to wrap things up? To bring characters back and plot a proper final episode?

It'll be a shame if the network delays the decision too long and we don't get proper closure.
  5. ATWT: Legacy character returning for anothers exit

    Posted 15 Aug 2009

    From WeLoveSoaps: http://www.welovesoa... bonnie-out.html

According to them, Jessica is returning for Bonnie's exit. Chauntee's last day on set was yesterday and he starts his new storyline today. Knowing ATWT, I'm not sure we should expect Tamara Tunie to be playing Jessica. I'd hope so, but lets not forget 3/4's of the cast is recast right now, lol. While it'll be nice to see Jessica, I don't understand why Bonnie has to go. I liked her with Dusty and it's a shame now that he's paired with a black character he gets little screentime. She brought him down to earth a bit. I hated the horrible, insulting wigs they'd put on Chauntee, but other than that she was enjoyable.

Oh well! At least the black characters are getting some kind of send off. This is probably the end for them until the show is canceled.
