This interview is awesome! I love her candidness--it's so refreshing in the entertainment industry.

[!@#$%^&*] made me laugh when she said she's kinda like Kate Roberts

I completely agree that daytime needs new blood!!! Thank God someone in the industry finally said this.

And I agree with her on her comments about minority characters. I too think she was talking about Passions.

OMG. Her favorite characters are Marlena, Celeste, Alice and Maggie.

AMAZING!

She actually mentioned Celeste as one of her favorite characters?

I think I'm in love with this writer.

OMG! She wanted Abe to beat Lexie up after catching her in bed with Tek? Haha!

She wanted Abe to beat Lexie up

You've got to be kidding, right?

That would be awful...

Abe is a decent character. That would be so wrong on so many levels.

She's so intelligent!!! This interview is wonderful!!!

I do enjoy her and the interview, but it says a lot of daytime that she's saying what we say as fans dozens of times a day and she's being praised as being so intelligent and wonderful. She's US!

I think you're so right. I think that's why there's so much resistance to her by the soap press.

Then the soap press are assholes.

Well I finally listened to the entire hour of the interview and I must say, I was impressed. I love that she wants to see "more complex, multi-dimensional" characters on daytime.

LOVE that she described Stephen Nichols as "so brilliant" and that she has a lot of ideas for Matt Ashford.

I'm still scratching my head over her belief that Farah Fath and Jason Cook are good for the show but there's no accounting for taste *g*

I love that she loves Celeste. I would be thrilled to see her role expanded.

When she was talking about her childhood and said "the pain of that... to be put up for adoption by your own family, thrown away..." I couldn't help but think about Steve Johnson. I know she's watched the show for years, but I wonder how familiar she is with his story. I get the feeling from some of her comments that she might be more familiar with the early 80s and more recent stuff. Still, from the things she says (her lament about male characters being either all good or all bad and her own experiences with being "thrown away" and ostracized) I would think she might feel a real connection to his character.

Bottom line for me, anyone who wants to see better dialogue, for the show deal with more realistic issues, and wants to bring "strength and beauty and quality and integrity" to the show is worth giving a shot. I'm anxious to see the first script she write.

Well, I hope she gets to put her ideas for Matt Ashford into practice. I just have this horrible feeling that she won't get the chance because Matt will be canned. I just can't shake the feeling that no matter how much fans enjoy Jack/Steve they will take the easy way out and write him off with Missy. :(

I hope I am wrong. :)

I share your fear and also really hope you're wrong.

Steve needs Jack. And Days needs Matt.

I think the fans would absolutely accept him with another heroine.

Sad to say, but for more years then I can count, if there is a Days fanbase that is screwed over it is Jack and Jennifer's.

If there is an actor to screw over (fire), it is Matt Ashford. Fired twice, killed off so many times I have lost count frankly. And now dying yet again!

So, to keep the Days pattern of behavior intact, it just says to me that Matt's days are numbered no matter what the viewing public wants. :(

But I hope against hope that with the advent of Hogie the pattern will finally end once and for all. :)

Its heartbreaking how she watched her parents get murdered in front of her then stayed with their bodies all night :o

After hearing [!@#$%^&*]'s enthusiasm about Ashford in this interivew--I get the feeling that he will NOT be leaving the show.

Also, don't hold me to it. But I've heard "rumors" from pretty good sources that "someone at DAYS" wants Jack to become involved with Billie as well as raising his teen daughter Abby.

Boof really loved Ashford when he was on "Search for Tomorrow" and this is the 10th time I've heard about her raving about Ashford. I'm sure Hogan is listening.

YES! YES! YES!

I love Bo/Billie, but I have to realistic - they will never be - for long, anyway. With Reeves leaving, MA and JP would be scorching. This is also good news for Pinson!

I agree that if it were up to Boof and Hogie I truly believe that Matt would have a long-term story with the show. I really do. Boof sounds so enthusiastic about him and Jack is the kind of character I could see Hogie truly sinking his teeth into. However, I just can't shake the feeling that the Days execs are so money conscious now and so used to the idea of firing Matt (this would be the third time after all) to save dough, that it would be so easy to get rid of him. I think Matt's future depends on whether Hogie is willing to fight to keep him. Or if he even has the power to fight to keep him. I think I might even write Hogie at the show to show my support for Matt. It certainly can't hurt at this point!

At any rate, I hope you are right Erica. I would be more than willing to support a Jack/Billie pairing. Frankly, they are writing Jennifer so torn between him and Frankie, that it would not shock me if they just wrote Jennifer and Frankie off together. As for Jack/Billie, I thought their scenes last summer/fall were wonderful. And Billie needs to finally get away from Bo once and for all. I think Julie Pinson and Matt would have amazing chemistry.

And Jack needs to be there for the Steve storyline! No ifs, ands or buts!

I hope you are right-that would mean Pinson and Ashford are both safe and that makes me happy.

I also liked when she said about improving dialogue, adding quality to the show, and to not let fans dictate the writing. Give the fans what they want but don't let them decide how and when to do it.

I LOVE her and loved hearing her story.

She sounds like she reads alot of message boards to see what people are thinking and saying so we at SON will have to make sure we give her stuff to relay to Hogan and friends ;) .

LOVE her.

Oh and the part where she said she liked Frons irritated me too. She seems so excited and passionate about what she is doing. I am so happy about this.
