Jesus! I LOVE [s.W.S.N.B.N.]! Candid, uncensored, classy! I am ten minutes into this and I just LOVE HER. Love her passion for daytime, love her enthusiasm, love her, love her, love her. PLEASE KEEP HER DAYS! PLEASE KEEP HER!

She seems like such a team player also.

I am so happy this is about DAYS! Finally!

I desperately need TiVo to keep up with my soaps this fall. DAYS is just gonna rock my socks off!

GREAT INTERVIEW!!!

Toupss brought up most of the points but my favorite was her wanting to add realism to soaps. I also liekd her thanking boards like SON for having people write in.

Two things have be thinking:

-the thing she mentioned she wanted to do about a husband beating his wife I think was when Abe caught Lexie. I know she likes those characters and the way Abe went nuts in those scenes I think she wanted to go there but they wouldn't let her.

-the other thing is she was talking about a show with latinos. I am thinking she is talking about Passions there but I am not sure. She mentioned a maid so I immediatelly thought Pilar.

I love this woman to death. Very passionate and open and just a great personality. Her, Hogan, and Beth are going to be awesome and I feel so excited now about all this. They are going to bring alot of great stuff to Days. The only part I hated was her liking Mimi .

I loved her wanting to focus on the vets and wanting to bring back Mickey, Doug, and Julie. I also love her wanting get Sami an emmy and thinking Jim Reynolds deserves one. Her loving Julie Pinson and Matt Ashford makes me smile too.

I just loved her talking about the crappy stories and I could tell she was trying not to bash JER . She really beated around the bush there.

Loved it-definitely worth listening too.

Here's a synopsis of the interview but I really suggest listening to it. I typed them up as I listened to it, so if there are any mistakes, please tell me and I'll edit it.

- Thinks DAYS has a great cast, they just need good material

- Everybody has different tastes; she wanted a certain character to get

beat up by her husband; her real life reaction to the situation

because of her background; some ideas will not be accepted,

a lot of people will have to agree with it

- Writers can't always get vision on the show because of budget

- Admires Hogan's work at ATWT; loves his Emmy speeches

- Thinks Reilly is gifted and is about to turn Passions around

- Loves that Hogan is unpredictable; is sure he'll bring strong characterization

- Wants better dialogue, less repetitiveness

- Loves Beth's romanticism; Beth made the women stronger;

- Wants all characters more complex

- Wishes to bring Mickey back, wants more Hortons

- Wants older characters on, Mickey and Maggie should be new Tom and Alice

- Wrote brilliant stuff for Ali Sweeney in her shadow bible; wants her to win an Emmy.

- Hoping to stay with DAYS but you never know what will happen

- Thinks Daytime isn't competitive enough; writers/producers need to be more scientific

- Talking about Passions a bit.....give them Latino women to hook up with Latino men (Luis and Miguel)

- Each show recycles the same crap (ie: people coming back from the dead)

- Wants to have new stuff but sometimes networks say no

- Daytime needs new blood....people who are hungrey

- Soaps to be more family based and realistic

- Idea for another show: female newspaper reporter being caught of tape having sex with two brothers, then she gets blackmailed by the brothers' sister! Sister starts to blackmail woman. Blackmailer going to expose woman at church but woman stands up in Church and tells every that she enjoyed having sex with two men.

The networks told her that you can't show a woman having sex with two men at the same time.

- Can't let audience dictate writing

- Bring cutting edge characters

- Sonia did in with two men (talking about OLTL? GL?)

- Let's have some reality.

- Soaps to be more gritty and faster and compelling

- wants writing like Karen Wolex (Sp?) story on OLTL back in the 70's

- want more grown up stories, "lets talk about sex" LOL

- She loved Cory Publishing on AW...loves AW sophistication

- Says teens do want to watch older characters

- Wants to write for everyone....every type of characters...wants to write for Jewish people....wants people to clash.....

- wants to see stories on colourism.....reverse racism......

- ratings will go up if people are talking about it

- Stories have to make sense....can't be stupid. LOL

- She is not a whore....was never Brian Frons girlfriend..never slept with anyone for a job.

- She visits WoST, SON, and SoapCity boards and appreciates people who support her.

- Joined WoST website

- She may have her own cooking show with the Food Network!

- Two novels to be released in 3 years

- her Egyptian grandmother gave her up for adoption because her skin was too dark

- Pain from rejection of family, seeing her parents murdered

- Her novels are raw, deep and compelling, almost all forcus on black women

- women who are more succesful then men in Africa are accused of witchcraft!

- Her life is true, she has no reason to lie

- Cares about people in Sudan..what's happening there.

- Thrilled to be working at DAYS. Loves the fans who say 'give her a chance.' Wants to live up to expectations.

- Wants to bring strength, beauty and integrity to the DAYS

For some reason, I thought the show she was referring to in terms of Latino men and a mother who is a maid was THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL. But perhaps it was PASSIONS.

I sat and listened to the WHOLE interview. If you haven't, I definitely recommend it.

And I LOVED the "jab" at pop-writer Terry McMillian. Never met her, but I took a class under someone at my school(won't mention the name of the author in this post) who does this type of pop-writing and he/she was just NOT interested in studying REAL contemporary fiction from people of color(like Ms. Boof). Most of our assignments were NOT from literary writers. And the writing class was FAR worse, because the class was never taught how to write literatute. My final assignment was a bible for a telenovela-style serial, if that gives any indication to how loose the boundaries were for this class.

I hope she ends up teaching someday, because I think she could inspire so many writers to pursue their craft and to recognize what is good writing and what is bad.

I really hope DAYS keeps her after this interview. She is so pumped and passionate about daytime, and THIS IS WHAT WE NEED! Not the same cycle of writers digging through their old scripts and looking for their next paychecks.

I don't think she meant to bash Reilly during this interview, but she is simply pointing out what every fan knows. Reilly is overworked and stretched thin. During his first run at DAYS, he was magic. Hell, I started watching soaps because of it. My hope is that he can make magic on PASSIONS.

And she mentioned SON. Hehehe. Gotta love that! We are a rowdy bunch here, that's for sure.

"So many other soap opera sites I never knew that existed until now, you know -- Soap Opera Network -- I've seen alot of things written on there, good and bad. But, I just want to thank people on your site, Soap Opera Network site, the other Sony picture boards, all these sites, the ones who have really championed me and said good things and, for instance at one point when I was fired, people were writing in from these boards, something I never expected because I'm like, 'They don't even know me. How have they heard of me?' So it came as a shock to me that there were people on these boards saying, you know, "She's new. Keep her around until we see what she can do, don't fire her." And it really means alot to someone like me, who has been kind of hit over the head. But the fans, I think, can smell a soap fan. They're like, "Her life was a soap opera. She wanted to write soap operas. She's crazy, and she's new.' I think they really are plugging into my spirit, and the soap fans know that, if given the chance, I could do good work."

I hope she goes so far in daytime. What a smart lady.
