Here's an idea for Brian Frons: Quit sulking in the corner because Boof ditched ABC, get off your ass, and look for other [!@#$%^&*]

Is GH going to get different writing anytime soon?

Frons is not looking for other [!@#$%^&*] Boofs at this time but I have a feeling that AMC's future headwriters will be well received anyway. biggrin.gif They're not new to soaps but that shouldn't matter at this point. Stay tuned to SON!

Wha!? AMC's future headwriters?! Is there something that I haven't stumbled across yet?

*crosses fingers*

Jack and Sami

or Jack and Billie

Both pairings would work with me.

Anyhow, the interview was interesting and encouraging. It's great that she thinks "outside-the-box" storyline wise, wants complex, shades of gray characters, has a great love and passion for the show and values the veteran characters, like Maggie, Doug, Julie, etc.

There's been some really good character interaction recently, and I have to wonder if some of it was stuff that she scripted or tweaked. Like, Frankie's conversation with Max, Jack telling Jennifer that he was afraid to die, and so on.

Regardless, the show seems more character driven now, and I'm happy about that. I never thought I'd be interested in a daytime soap again. I just wish the cuts weren't coming.

I FINALLY watched this interview. Can you believe it?!! Took me long enough! Anyway, just a few comments:

1. I wonder how Kristian feels since [!@#$%^&*] basically implied that after so many years on "Days" she's finally "come into her own" and become a real actress, as opposed to being just a pretty face.

2. Woman screwing two daytime hunks, the 'good' soap men reading Playboy...someone really wants to sex up the soaps!

3. Why did Brian keep calling it "WOHst?" I think it's obvious, and [!@#$%^&*] evidently agreed with her pronunciation, that it's "WAHst."

All that said, I enjoyed the interview, and I think she has the right idea of what soaps should include more of. I really enjoy her stance on quality writing but had to question how many times she said how "brilliant" her ideas were for Sami and other characters, and how great a writer she is. On the flip side, I'm the same way so I can't blame her. When you're hot, you're hot!

I have a word for [!@#$%^&*] if she reads these remarks. Bring the real Hope back and if you wish to pair her with another man, get a real man for her, not the self-professed criminal, mob hitman. Hope is not a stupid person. She is a cop who would never hook up with a criminal. She would be wanting to find the wanted on him and arrest his sorry butt. Create a super guy to top off John :P for her if you just HAVE to do this.

I'm not sure I necessarily agree. After all, Hope spent over a year doubting Patrick; she used her police instincts. But, whether Hatrick detractors like this or not, Patrick PROVED himself, again, and again, to be a changed man. Now, that doesn't mean he is. But he has proven himself to Hope again and again and again. I don't fault her for believing he's changed his ways. After all, he has saved a bunch of people's lives when he could've fallen back to his criminal ways. Plus, the whole "Alma" ex-love gave him a soft side that Hope finds endearing. I can buy Hatrick. Definitely.

It's very bad that Y&R is on SoapNet now because I am really, REALLY seeing how well written a soap can be. I loved Latham's work on Knots Landing, and I WISH WISH WISH she'd go to GH.

He told Hope about his criminal past. She knows it and her instincts as a cop tell her he is not to be trusted and there is no way she is going to play God and let him get off scotfree for his sorry deeds. Hope is being written like a romantic wimp who cannot think for herself, but is all doey-eye at the first soft spoken person she finds. That is not HOPE WILLIAMS BRADY who lets no one get away with not doing the right thing, even her beloved husband of 20 years....who did nothing like hire out for murder. Not to forget to mention that the letter she found from Alma was too conveniently located so what she read and what happened may be two entirely different things....but the truth is, she was murdered for people looking for the dastardly Patrick. The real Hope would not have let that escape her attention either. And whoever heard of a hitman who quit.........and didn't get what Alma got????? So why is Patrick still around. He is still under the employee of the mastermind. That would be true to the history of the show.

IA 100%, but she's not the only one. All the female characters have been written so one-dimensionally. They are either spineless wimps who will let some man they have not known a year turn there heads, or they are so evil they come off like comic book villianesses (Kate). If she spent more time getting a man as she does sticking her damn nose in everyone's business, she would be my favorite character. She doesn't listen to anyone, not even her children.
