I hope Hogan has some good stuff planned for Austin, Carrie, Sami and Lucas. Otherwise, I might as well watch tapes from 1997 (just add in EJ in place of Franco).

As for the “young crew”…I think they are decent actors, but they characters are unremarkable. I do wish they would show Abby more. I will take a Horton girl, over Georgia/Chelsea Brady.

The Patch and Kayla scenes were nice. I am starting to warm up to them again. However, I am anxious to dig into Patch’s backstory.

OMG...Stephanie's intro was lame. With JER gone, I hope the drop this Race Car stuff.

Stephenie debuted yesterday? I wasn't expecting her until the 10th!

I didn't like the intro for Stephanie. When Kayla was telling Steve and others about Stephanie, I don't think she mentioned anything about race car driving. Where did that come from? I hope this whole race car thing ends, and that was just a way for her to connect with Max. There could be something good there between the two of them.

I can't take Mimi anymore. It's the same thing with her everday. It's annoying! She needs to either confess what she knows, or stop thinking of it.

PREACH! I hate the Salem Speedway, which is why I'm introducing Stephanie in a whole new way in my fan fiction, and I'm also getting Max and E.J. the hell out of this profession and into a new occupation.

I just don't get it. WHY all the hate on racecar driving? It seems irrational.

I know. I think it is annoying how they do this every summer but if you have a character who is a race car driver you kinda have to focus on that. It doesn't bother me. The only year it bothered me was in 2004 when Kirsten Storm's Belle was at the track with Philip for like no reason that I can remember. Otherwise, not so bad to me. NBC deals alot with NASCAR so it is only natural to cross promote and that is what soaps do alot of these Days. ABC does alot of it too. Promoting racing may be helping Days and alot of young people like it so it may help in that area.

I don't hate it but I don't like it either so I am in the middle. I just don't understand the venom concerning it. It just seems like people just hate and despise it  .

Who knows  ?

I personally love teh racecar thing because it's something no other soap has and it's not overtaking the show.

Exactly Keith. We see like only once a year anyways. We may see it more now with 3 drivers on the show but it is unique to daytime and it is nice to have some different occupations on a soap rather then the usual doctor, cop, etc.

I dont like the race track stuff because if a real race were ever to be shown it would look beyond fake. With all soaps have budget cuts it would be impossible for a race to look even half way real. I hate the SFX on DAYS, so I wouldnt care if they dropped this race crap tomorrow.

They never have to show an actual race,

I don't know how true that can be. I mean, "Days" has a bigger budget than "Passions," and yet "Passions" in 2002 had some amazing racecar scenes with Briantonio.

Passions actually went to a real race track to shoot those scenes. Passions has done alot more location shoots then Days. I think the last major location shooting Days did was during the teen summer island story in 2001. Days had the Rolling Stone concert but I don't count that.

I don't see why Days can't go to a race track and shoot something like Passions if they wanted too. Days, even with cuts, probably still has a bigger budget then Passions.

Chelsea needs to get some meat on those bones...

I'm not a racing fan at all and it's just not an everyday household subject either, meaning it's got only a localized fan base. I don't like the racing suits and truthfully, I don't like people who think taking their own lives in their own hands, even others lives is smart at all. It doesn't show due respect for life imho. So, no I do not like the racing trend on Days. There are more everyday careers that are worthy and respectable and acceptable. I loved the Rolling Stone's concert. It surely made me want to be right in the middle of it all..yea. More of that sort and getting a rocker character would be the TOPS. I even enjoyed Rex's attempt to serenade Mimi LOL.

Well, Jean, I'll have to honestly disagree to an extent. Everyday, real people don't show due respect to life, so it's very true to life. It's beyond wild that the show is now full of 'stars' of the track, minsd you, but this is Days, and there's been something fanatical about it since the 80's, has there not? Always a new trend.
