I'm not sure if that or the Emmys is more degrading.

October 31Oct 31 Member Ok I take back what I said about Frank. I've never seen this man before, I've only heard about him. But was he drunk? If so, fine, enjoy your night... but that looked like Weekend at Bernie's the way they had to hold him up on stage. Someone check on him later haha.Well, what an interesting ride. I'm so happy for the winners, particularly BTG's first wins!

October 31Oct 31 Member I legit think it looks like serious anxiety to me, not drunk. He always looks ill in front of a microphone. Interesting about the 6 months thing. I know he was originally going to do the online OLTL but it got delayed. But i thought that was before he went to GH.I cannot believe I watched this whole show. They really did me dirty by being so bad and also putting Genie’s award so late in the show. Edited October 31Oct 31 by titan1978

Was that show an acquired taste? Yes, but it didn't want to be everyone's cup of tea. It knew what it was and ran with it. I think it was a great experiment that did a lot of things well, including Mills' character. -- Not mad at Scott Clifton winning, but as with Beth Maitland and Roger Howarth, Clifton won because of sobbing scenes.-- GH winning? I guess that's ok, as long as I try to forget how bad the last few months have been. -- This was an awards show from hell.

And back then, wasn't soaps getting at least 6 months notice to wrap up? Though I also found that bit of tea being confirmed interesting as well.

Most cut off the speaker in mid-sentence.I used to look forward to the Best Show packages they used to pepper through the broadcasts in the 90’s Emmy’s. Always a blur of explosions, sex scenes, tears, slaps, etc. They were often fun.
October 31Oct 31 Member Wow...that was a looooooooong show, and it looked like they had about $500 to put it together. I actually got to attend the awards twice when they aired on network. Once was at that the (then) Kodak Theater in Hollywood. The production values were huge! But, I guess they worked with what they had. That being said, so many of the service show awards dragggggged on. The awkward salutes to soaps of the past would have been way better with clips from the actual shows.Already from the start with Eva LaRue stating that AMC had the first Latino family, and I was like...wrong girl!...that was the Andraes on Santa Barbara. So glad BTG won two of the acting awards. I was really hoping they would win writing or best show, too. Edited October 31Oct 31 by 1974mdp
