It really is a mess -- and they've made it worse than ever.

Game shows were removed from the Daytime ceremony, and that makes no sense. But then they inserted all these instructional/reality/cooking/judge shows -- many of which air on streamers. Almost none of those shows say "daytime" to me.

Give those shows their own ceremony. Give us one with the soaps and talk shows and game shows. Make it a 90-minute ceremony. I don't even care if it's another no budget thing on You Tube. Just give us something that doesn't reek of incompetence.

Emmys red carpet. It would have been nice to see some of these actors present awards, or at least be shown on camera.

Vincent Steib's title at BTG is "Director of Photography"

Vincent Steib also works with (or used to work with) Lighting at BTG--
because he shared the Lighting Direction Emmy with BTG Lighting Director Victor Bland, for Episode 104 (Articulettes reunion).

This is Vincent Steib's third Emmy --
he previously won a Daytime Emmy in 1984
for Outstanding Achievement in Technical Direction/Electronic Camera/Video Control --
for the Los Angeles Olympics.
And he has been nominated several times for GH lighting,
and won the Lighting Emmy in 2011 for GH.


The Emmy announcer says that Victor Bland is accepting the award, and the chyron says it's Bland speaking ...
but it's actually Vincent Staub giving the acceptance speech,
with Bland standing next to him.
