With all the problems of the Daytime Emmys -- and they are many -- I will say it's nice that we're not here today to blast them for ignoring Beyond the Gates. I was worried GATES would get only a few

Not a fan of his either, but I'm glad to see credit where credit's due. MVJ is an inspiration to every person of color who dreams of creating, writing and running their own show. Really pulling for

I never pay the Emmys much attention, but in my opinion Daphnee Duplaix gives the most confident, nuanced performance of all the females I've seen on soaps this year. And she's not mentioned at all.

I didn't know Patricia Darbo was getting inducted. Loved it and looking gorgeous.

Congrats to Francesca James as well.

Adding Tamara Tunie to the canon of Lead Actress winners makes most of the nonsense worth it. For a few minutes, it actually felt like the Daytime Emmys.

But now we have to immediately give a statuette to “A Different Breed,” whatever the hell that is.

Tamara Tunie giving a lengthy speech but I don't mind it. Her mom looks fabulous! She gave a shout out to the great Douglas Marland stirred my heartstrings.🥲Congrats to Ms. Tunie!🥂🏆

I am so happy for Tamara and the entire BTG show for this amazing win (and all their wins). Tamara's speech was perfection. And y'all - her 92 year old mother looks amazing! How in the world is she 92? I'm so happy she could be there to see her daughter win.

My heart is so warm watching Ambyr and Tamara win tonight. I know the BTG cast will be celebrating hard back in Atlanta on-set next week. I can't wait to watch their Insta stories )

but, and i know this is a minor nitpick — micki grant was actually the first — another world in july 1965. cicely tyson joined guiding light in january 1966.

I knew Tamara Tunie would win and I figured that Ambyr probably would too but T.T's name was etched on that Emmy.
