What's crazy is that Paula Cwikly was co-head writer when Lexie cheated with Brandon. I mean, NC is no help, but Paula should know more about Lexie's characterization in order to at least try to write

I assumed Paula was probably around at some point when Lexie cheated because it happened so often lol. They really had two different options to go with here-the way you are describing or they could ha

Bringing this over from the June thread

I particularly enjoyed Javi and Gus' first few scenes today. We got a really good insight into both characters, and about the experiences they've had in their lives. Their scenes were really sweet... until they started talking about Leo, and Javi's jealousy was foreshadowed. I really, really hope that there's a shift in this storyline at some point, especially since I did see a little chemistry between Jacob Martinez and Michael Ocampo, and their kiss was really nice too. I also liked the way that Javi and Gus were there for Gabi. They felt like a real family. But yeah, even if we couldn't see Javi, we should've at least seen Gus build these relationships with the Hernandez family.

I also enjoyed Roman and Kate going head to head, but I do think that we should've known before today that they were sleeping in separate rooms. I did feel bad for Kate though when she found out Roman had given her room to Ari, and now has to find somewhere else to stay. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens once she moves into the Kiriakis mansion.

I'm also looking forward to seeing if Gabi does something now that she knows that Anna was the one that ratted her out.

As for Leo, I just don't care. And him possibly being the one to blow the whistle on Xander and Kristen totally feels a shoehorn situation, where he's being forced into a storyline that he has no business being in. I would rather Philip be the one to do it (despite his stupid faces lol) either intentionally or unintentionally. And it would add another dynamic to their relationship, now that they know that ARO changed the terms of their loan payments.

Random Thoughts

  1. Poor Gwen is always the last to know. That character really needs a win in the romance department, because she’s become the Salem equivalent of Debbie Downer.

  2. If Lexie gets pregnant, I may fall into hysterical fits of laughter. I don't assume it, but it did cross my mind.

  3. I’m very intrigued by ARO Wealth Management — the letters have to be a clue — and the number of literary references is genuinely fun (Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre, Gabi's use of the Emmerson quote. etc).

  4. Also amused that Kate can stroll into Maggie’s house with one carry‑on bag and announce she’s moving in today. Peak Kate Roberts energy.

    1. But, I mourn the missed opportunity to make a new family unit out of Joy, Kate, and Ari (I love a naughty girl group).

  5. Do you think Javi’s drug‑addicted baby momma knew Liam’s drug‑addicted baby momma? JK, (too soon?)

  6. I assumed Coriseal is an additive, not a drug itself? Like a preservative that they add to pharmaceuticals. And the 2024 batch got contaminated by arsenic. So, I'm waiting to see if they show Coriseal pills, or like a power (just to understand the logic).

    1. The four-day rule has got to be the big clue. Because I thought Holly's symptoms were related to taking Sophia's meds (remember she still had lingering symptoms). But, it seems like there's a plot rule that whatever was ingested causes immediate nausea, and may be lethal within four days.

    2. I appreciate when they commit to plot rules in a mystery.

  7. Somebody's got to either renovate or sell The Horton Cabin on Smith Island. No TV, no bridge, no WiFi, shoddy cell reception, a well and a septic tank. No, thank you. And half of the women in Salem were kidnapped there. The Hortons need to sell that shack and buy a new space for their extended family and Christmas tree ornaments.

    1. I wonder who owns it now? Jennifer (since she owns the family home)?

    2. At least they should get a Ring Camera..

    3. The funniest would be if we ever got to meet the ferryman (ferryperson?) who seems to have multiple trips per day to this one tiny island.

Javi's baby momma was not a drug addict. Javi had too many beers the night before and was hungover so they switched up routines for the morning and the mom left the little girl in the car by accident. Javi was usually the parent that dropped Solana to daycare everyday.

The mom is in jail currently.

I wonder if that means we'll be seeing her at some point. I kinda hope not though 😂

I think we might. Today's dialogue made me wonder even if it wasn't super obvious.

At least we know you actually watch this soap and don't go by recaps. 🤪

Hoping it's a two-episode drop in.

Too bad.

Losing Trey last year was the best opportunity to get good conflict for Javi that could have been tied to his daughter dying. Possibly bringing that back now just kinda feels like they're beating a dead horse.

It was such a tragic story that I couldn't forget it. Like the little baby died in a hot car because the mom was tired and confused and didn't drop her off and went to work instead.

Idk how you would do that, but I guess it's not unheard of. I think someone pulled up the stats on that and it actually happens.

I'd be okay with the mom coming back I think? I would almost immediately take her out of Javi's story, but I could see a character with such a tragic past being okay in Salem.

That's pretty much the only way the character would work, IMO.

I've recalled them with a father who forgot his child was in the car and went to work, etc. Like, how do y'all forget your children?! Damn. Forget 'em at home. At least that would be safer and cooler than anything else.

You would think the child would make noise, but I guess being extremely tired or deviating from your routine could make that happen.

You would assume so. Still baffling to me.

I don't know what those (since-deleted) conversations were about, but there is no need to bring discussions, screenshots or commentary from another forum or other forms of social media to the SON Community, particularly those that are disparaging toward one or more members. I don't see why anyone needs to talk ill of anyone here elsewhere, specifically how it benefits anyone in any circumstance, but it's unnecessary and uncalled for.

People can talk [!@#$%^&*] about me here or elsewhere, but I do not take kindly to others shitting on the SON Members, especially when one can't or has no means to defend themselves.

Please keep this in mind with future postings.

Enjoyed Kate deciding she's returning to the Kiriakis mansion without anyone's approval and glad that the (off screen) Henderson still has her back and will arrange for her belongings to be moved back in.

Why the Brady Pub has a country twang soundtrack at all times is puzzling and detracts from every scene set there.

FauxLexie needs to go. This is one of the worst stories the writers could have come up with. What a rotten egg of a storyline.
