From when Suzanne discussed her cancer treatment last November on the Soapy podcast, she said she was off work for summer 2025 as she dealt with surgery and treatment. So I'd expect that Maggie will be offscreen 2-3 months total. I really hope they're moving Kate back into the Kiriakis orbit more permanently. I like her with Roman, but not if it means she's slinging order behind the bar.

Agreed.

Despite the mistakes that Paula/Jeanne have made, getting Kate involved with Titan again was the right choice.

Suzanne's last episode was April 14, so she's already missed the last 2 and 1/2 months, If she returned to work in September, then she'll probably be back on air at some point in August, which could put her on-air absence around 4 months or so.

I'm really liking what I've seen of him too. We haven't seen him in any heavy emotional scene’s yet, but he's doing great with what he's got. Honestly, it's probably the best recast the show has done in years

So, Nicole is coming back to Salem to see Holly.

It stinks that we're probably not gonna see her, but just having her be there for Holly is the right decision. Holly needs her mother. And I liked the way Tate continued to be there for her. The explanation as to how Holly got poisoned, and EJ finding out that Brady was at the Horton cabin testing the water could lead to something interesting happening, especially since Holly wants EJ to be her lawyer against Amy's lawsuit.

And it was also nice to see Tate be there for his cousin Stephanie as well. I'm glad that she had someone to talk to and that Tate used his own history with Sophia as a way of getting her to see reason about Alex and Joy lol. I wonder if Stephanie taking training sessions from Tate is going to end up meaning something too. Idk about that Tate's gym music though. I think it's better than the country twang that we hear at the Brady Pub but... idk

But I have to admit that the reveal about who's behind ARO was a real letdown. And since the reveal was so weak, I'm glad that it wasn't dragged out for a long time. I was really hoping that it was going to be a surprise, or at least, be a different, better character that was behind it. Paula/Jeanne really seemed to have inherited Ron Carlivati's mindset of being obsessed with certain characters and disregarding others, and that's not a good thing. Is it really that difficult to keep your canvas well balanced while writing?

Hopefully, the fallout of this reveal will be better though, especially since there seemed to be a lot of foreshadowing in the scenes of Xander, Philip and Alex strategizing.

They were in an extended 6 week hiatus September 18 to November 3 while Noel tried to map out some sort of plan with the writers. Suzanne had not returned at the point they wrapped this season. We will hopefully see her this September on screen

It’s always nice to see Shawn and Jada when we can. I wish they were featured more. Their flirting was really sweet and nerdy too.

But I do think their storyline and Belle/Chad’s part in it is being written kinda strangely though. And there needs to be a lot more drama. It’s like they’re just teasing a romantic quad but they don’t seem interested in actually going for it. Shawn and Belle come off more like friends instead of ex’s that don’t realize that they still love each other. There doesn’t even seem to be any foreshadowing with any of them either, like there is in so many other storylines. I really think they should go for it, and ultimately reunite Shawn and Belle in the end.

I have mixed feelings about Johnny leaving the birthday party to go and possibly steal some evidence from Sarah’s office though. On the one hand, it could lead to something good happening for all these characters but on the other hand, making Johnny so buddy-buddy with EJ again will always be a big mistake. There would be so many more story opportunities for Johnny if he was still against EJ/the Dimeras. That’s the one Ron storyline that Paula/Jeanne should have continued on with more than any other.

Wouldn’t it be such an amazing twist if it turns out that Johnny was actually just pretending to reconcile with EJ as a way of finding some evidence to finally bring him down and send him to prison?

And while I’m still against a Marlena/Roman reunion, I did like that Roman had her to talk to about everything that’s been going on between him and Kate.

As for Lexie, I still don’t care. I admit, she didn’t seem as cold and withdrawn today as she usually does but yeah, this storyline is just a misfire that needs to end. Nikki Crawford was not the right fit for Lexie at all.

The Roman/Marlena stuff does make sense to me. I just wish Josh Taylor wasn't Roman. I can see him pushing Kate away because Marlena is finally "available". I wish the conflict was more. This seems like such small stakes on the Kate lying scale. He's forgiven her for far worse, but I guess it all adds up over time.

I really wonder why the cast NC as Lexie. There is not a single thing about the actress that fits Lexie or channels Renee Jones at all. There had to be other actresses interested that were a better fit. I always thought someone like Tonya Lee Williams would be a good choice for Lexie. I feel like there was a fill in recast when Abe almost died a few years ago that was better.

I don't think the Lexie story works at all, but the only chance it ever had of even slightly working would've been if they got Renee Jones back. As it is, it just falls flat on every level.

At this point, I don't even know if Renee Jones could've saved it. It all just feels so plotty and unnecessary. I don't see what long lasting effects or future storylines that can be drawn from his.

And it really derailed Theo's part in a lot of storylines as well.
