Or at least, give her a scene, reflecting on how she feels that this was her second chance to actually be a good wife to Abe, and how heartbroken she is now that she's losing that chance

I assumed Paula was probably around at some point when Lexie cheated because it happened so often lol.

They really had two different options to go with here-the way you are describing or they could have stated while Lexie is back her personality fundamentally changed with the experimental drug.

I sort of thought they were going with the latter when she woke up and was so different. The drugs made her more "Dimera-like" and that's why she was so cold and suddenly accepting of her father's family. It would have been a conflict for Abe, Theo, and her old friends to navigate the change in her and they would struggle going back to the relationships they had before she died. I think NC could have possibly played that better?

This story was just a miss in every capacity, so it's hard to imagine it ever being halfway decent lol.

As for Kristen vs. Gwen, like I've said before lol I would've enjoyed those scenes a lot more if they had involved any characters other than the two of them

hahahaha

That might've been better, and could have had a good ripple effect across the canvas, especially for Theo and Abe/Paulina.

When it comes to certain characters, it seems to be a recurring theme for Paula/Jeanne at this point 😂

I can't believe I'm saying this, but Kristen should have been in it today.

I'm glad that we got some follow up with Theo, but I would much rather his scenes today had taken place immediately after Kristen had confessed everything to him, rather than a little while after. But I did enjoy the rest of Theo's scenes today. He did a really good job, and really came off like a person who's special needs. When it comes to that aspect of Theo's character, he does a better job at it than any of the other Theo's. Abe did a very good job as well, and surprisingly so did Nikki Crawford. Lexie's return will always be a mistake, but those mother/son scenes with Theo are not really that bad lol and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens when Theo finds out that Abe lied to him about joining forces with EJ.

Speaking of EJ, while I'll never be a fan of all this focus on him, and him basically poking his finger in every pie, I am interested in seeing what happens now that every except Tate believe the doctored tests that suggest that Holly is using again. It's good drama. I like the way that Tate comforted Holly as well.

Btw, Idk if purple is Tate's color 😂

And yeah, with all this disagreement between Rafe and Cat over Andrew's decision, we really should be seeing him. He really is the missing piece in this puzzle. And I would much rather see Rafe's hateboner for EJ and (if Days had actually gone there) Andrew's feelings for Dimitri be the primary source of conflict that puts their investigation in jeopardy, instead of Cat falling for EJ.

Poor Javi

It's always too bad when a character exists for no reason other than to be there for another character, but in this case, it's so much worse. I don't care about Leo, or his concussions, and with the way Greg Rikaart plays it, it really does seem like Leo's just playing Javi in order to manipulate him. And as always, he comes off as just creepy. I have no problem with the age gap, but even if he and Javi were the same age, he would've come off as creepy. It's just him. I do like that Javi told him off in the end though. Jacob Martinez did pretty well today. And he looked good too 😉

Everything surrounding Alex was the most interesting to me today. His showdown with Philip and Xander was actually pretty good, despite Philip being a little campy and bitchy lol. And I'm glad that it looks like Alex is going to be weaved back into the Kiriakis family drama. Taking him out of it last year and giving him that book stuff was the wrong choice and I like that it looks like that's going to be corrected. That could lead to a lot of good drama, especially if they go there with Philip and Stephanie.

Speaking of Stephanie, I do kinda like the full circle moment of her deleting Joy's voicemail from Alex's phone when she needed him, the same way Alex deleted Chad's voicemail from her phone when Kayla was "dying." That could lead to something good happening for all of these characters once the secret comes out.

Chanel's revelation to Johnny at the end was a bit of a surprise too.

Wait...I thought Chanel got cancer because Paulina exposed her to radiation at the Cabin?

WTH is JPL doing? He is insufferable. He and TJA think they are making clever acting choices, but it's just a bunch of affected foolishness that falls flat. Dial it down.

Stephanie, Stephanie, Stephanie.

I do like the mess that she's in though, and that she had someone to talk to about everything. Having Steve and Kayla be there for their daughter is a good way to use them, even though I do understand if some people think that they coddle her too much. Kayla using her own history with Ava and Tripp was the right choice as well.

The confrontation between Alex and Stephanie after Alex found was really good as well and I wish it had gone on a little longer. Maybe today should've ended with Alex walking up to Stephanie, and their confrontation could have taken place tomorrow. But I appreciated the confrontation for what it was. And surprisingly, I think RSW did a good job in those scenes.

I can't say the same for Dan Feuerriegel today though 😂

And while it's always nice to see Marlena, even with Lexie lol, I honestly can't believe that throughout this whole Lexie storyline, they didn't write a scene of Marlena talking with Chad or Julie or someone about how Lexie was able to be brought back, yet the same couldn't be done for John.

Btw, see ya Rolf! And don't come back.

Yeah... we really should've gotten some follow up with Alex and Stephanie, because today was kinda boring.

Abe/Theo was the best part though. Theo suspecting that Johnny might be up to something could lead to something interesting happening. And I like how that ultimately led to Abe confessing the truth to Theo about working with EJ. But just like Alex/Stephanie yesterday, this was another confrontation that should've gone on a little longer. I thought they both did a good job and I would've liked to have seen more of it. I am looking forward to tomorrow though.

Johnny and EJ's showdown was good too, but they really, really need to have Johnny turn on EJ again. The two of them being all buddy-buddy is a mistake. And honestly, after everything that happened last year, that's kinda sad. There's still plenty of storyline that can be drawn from the two of them being at odds. He and Chanel were really sweet too.

And while I still think everything with Foster is not necessary, I did like that Julie had Marlena to talk to about grief and possibly moving on. And that Marlena had Julie to talk to as well.

The ending with Chad and Belle was kinda interesting too

They finally addressed that today. It felt a little clunky though.

Imagine giving your daughter radiation poisoning and cancer. Oops! Only DAYS.

I don't know if you actually saw it but it's even more ridiculous than it sounds. Radioactive Paulina on a snow mobile saving Chanel when she got lost on Smith Island.
