I'm really curious what's going to happen to Carly if Sonny and Nina get together; both of her perspective suitors left the show today. Who would be there for her? Drew? Shawn?

Austin?

I wonder who they will end up paring her with as well, if Sonny and Nina get together. She always had good chemistry with Shawn. It was still there when he held her hand looking at her engagement ring after he got of prison. I've also seen people speculate she might be paired with Drew. If so I wonder how that would work out. Her and CM did interact years ago in the What if scenarios that ABC did if different characters for their soaps interacted with each other. Who remember those skits lol. She did one as Carly with Cam as Ryan. I thought they had chemistry in this video, granted he was playing Ryan:

I could see them having Drew mix it up with different women on the canvas. I could see him with a range of women from Britt all the way up to the 50 something women on this canvas. I would even says possibly Alexis as well, were he not the father of her granddaughter. I don't think they would put him with her at least not anytime soon due to that.

Drew/Shawn could be two options for Carly, I'm not sure who else they might put her with.

Valentin has been corny since Moment 1 on this show long before he began singing Billy Joel songs to the American public and crying over this baby or that lisping toddler. JPS is a very talented actor who I know people love from his long history in daytime but to this day I don't understand how and why this guy is still here or a key lead.

LOL at how easy it was to write Jax out. I knew they'd just say he had business in Australia. In my mind, the business has to do with vaccines. OMG, they still have him talking about Jossly's safety. BYE! They didn't even give Jax a final scene with his daughter

Ingo Jax says he's on the outs with everyone in PC. His exit will affect nothing! Toodles!

The Cassadine Island story sucks! Literally the only good thing about it is Cameron Mathison's beard. WHY ARE ANNA AND ROBERT NOT SHOOTING PETER?! This is so stupid.

I wish I cared about Sasha. That was a lot of yelling from her and Brando at the beginning of the episode. Also, did Gladys disappear? I do like the Maxie/Brando scenes.

Can we stop giving JPS crying scenes? I like him but this is clearly not his strong suit. Even the Brando actor is giving a better emotional performance.

I know I say it every single time he's on but man Chase looked sexy today. The PCPD needs to get Chase off desk duty because he figured out the truth about Bailey pretty quickly.

Can we do something with Liz besides use her as a dayplayer nurse?

I wonder how Jax will feel about Australia's Covid travel restrictions?

You’ll be required to quarantine at a designated facility in the city you first arrive in. A negative COVID-19 test before boarding your flight doesn’t change quarantine requirements.

  • You don't need to book your place in quarantine. You'll be allocated a place when you arrive in Australia.
  • You may have to pay for your place in quarantine.
  • You can't travel domestically until you’ve completed the 14-day mandatory quarantine period.
  • You may be tested for COVID-19 during your quarantine period. If you don’t agree to be tested, you may have to quarantine for longer.

Quarantine is an unfamiliar experience for most people and can be challenging. If you need to quarantine on arrival, the Department of Health provides a guide on getting ready for quarantine. It includes what to expect, what to do before you depart and how to manage your time in quarantine.

Proof of vaccination

You need to provide evidence of your vaccination status for modified quarantine measures to apply to you.

I gotta admit...I like Esme with the high pony at the art exhibit. Though I'm not sure if she is trying to use Cameron around Trina to make Spencer feel something. And I LOVE the Portia/Trina moment when Trina put her chin on Portia's shoulder. Such a mom/daughter moment.

Can I continue to say how much I love Curtis getting so much airtime and thank you for the Dad reveal. You know it's good when it has a proper built and you didn't even realize someone who could shed like on it...ex. Stella...isn't around. Now I kinda need her back to do so. A missing piece, but yeah.

Robert and Olivia. I liked that they discussed the elephant in the room aka their chemistry. No wonder Ned is seeing red. But I wouldn't mind a triangle at all with them. However, it did make me think...where did Jackie go? When was the last time we saw them post-Chase surgery.

Speaking of Chase...him...Brando...ESPECIALLY Drew (who I agree with the rest of you...Cam KEEP THE BEARD) was looking foine with that beard. And OOPS, the next leg of the Bailey story continues now that too many people know. Ooooo the complications.

The fact that Chase figured out about Bailey/Louise so quickly shows how intelligent he is. I just hope he isn't dumbed down in future story.

They all looked good today

Those really do seem to be the only viable pairings for her, unless they follow up on the tease with Brando that the show gave us when he first debuted.

Watching yesterday's episode. This Sasha/Brando/baby stuff is pretty well done even though they barely showed them during the entire pregnancy so I don't really care about them. It's nice though. I did appreciate the scene where Brando said that he doesn't know what his religious beliefs are but he's going to pray anyway. I thought the actors did nice work. I feel like this is the first time they've given Brando real material. I also liked Carly/Sonny and Gladys being civil with each other.

Can Liz have a story? Her little mom-to-mom chat with Sasha was nice but let's give her something to do.

Whatever happened to Chase's parents? They just disappeared without a mention. They should probably make an appearance with Chase claiming to have a kid. Gosh I just love Chase.

Valentin and Nina scenes are tolerable now that they've moved on from each other.

I really don't care about anything happening on Cassadine Island and I dread having to watch everyone in PC mourn Jason.

I love that y'all think of me when Josh Swickard is naked on the show.

I asked for this last week and the writers actually delivered:

LOL. What a way to open the show. Happy Thanksgiving to me. He is the most beautiful man on any soap currently. He is perfection and I really like Chase too. If only Liz had been in that shower with him... Who takes phone calls while they're in the shower though? I loved Chase talking to himself in the mirror.

Those Sam and Dante scenes started and I was just like, "Who the hell are these kids?" Why do Rocco and Danny look like actual brothers? At least Scout is cute, and I don't mind Sam/Dante and their new little blended family. I know this isn't a couple that will last forever but they're nice. Hopefully they don't immediately throw Drew into a triangle with them since there are plenty of other women he can be tested with right now.

"Danny and Scout miss Jason." Oh please. They're not even going to notice that he's dead! Jason was never going to spend Christmas with Danny anyway. That kid is better off with having Dante as a father figure.

Ned is acting pretty self righteous for a dude who pretended to be Kristina's father.

Curtis/Portia scenes are background noise to me.

Who the f-ck told Cameron Mathison to shave?! I'm outraged.

    • I keep forgetting a huge chunk of that year was written by scabs. You're probably right, because by the time the strike was over, they were likely planning an exit for Alan's character as it must have been obvious by then that Bernau was not going to return. If he was still there, it's also doubtful they would have approached MZ and MG about coming back. Wild.
    • And to think the original plan was for David and Lesley to have an affair.  Not only would that have made no sense - Lesley wasn't THAT stupid, lol - but it also would've ruined her and GH.

    • Week ending March 5 1978 Second season shows are tested CBS finishes first week in March with stronger than usual 1 9.5, but not enough to beat ABC The prime -time ratings pattern continued to hold steady for the week ended March 5, and attention increasingly turns to second season entries as the networks probe one another's weaknesses or cover their own. As usual, ABC -TV won the week, scoring a 20.5 average rating. But CBS -TV was closer than usual with a 19.5 average garnered with the help of several strong specials and movies in addition to some of its dependable series regulars. NBC followed its habit of plummeting when its "évent "entries failed. In this case it was the miniseries, Loose Change, which scored only 24 and 22 shares on Monday and Tuesday, leaving the network with a 16.9 average rating for the week. Looking at new series and new time slots, ABC's Six Million Dollar Man on Monday (8 -9 p.m. NYT) continued to falter with a 22 share, while What's Happening, in its new slot on Saturday (8 -9 p.m.), also remained shaky with a 23 share. Starsky and Hutch is still healthy with a 38 share in its new slot following Charlie's Angels on Wednesday, and How the West Was Won also had a 38 on Sunday (8 -9 p.m.). Against West CBS's Rhoda and On Our Own came in poorly for the second week in a row of face to face competition, with each pulling 25 shares after a 41 share lead in from 60 Minutes. ABC's special two -hour presentation of the upcoming series tryout, Having Babies, scored a 27 share on Friday (9 -11 p.m.) against strong competition from both the other networks (the movie "Ski Lift to Death" on CBS and Rockford Files and Quincy on NBC). For CBS, its new Monday night leadoffs, Good Times and Baby I'm Back, scored so -so 27 and 28 shares respectively. But the second half of the night had its best performance since the new line -up came in- M *A*S *Hwith a 45, One Day at a Time with a 41 and Lou Grant with a 36. Celebrity Challenge of the Sexes and Shields and Yarnell showed no signs of reviving on Tuesday, with 16 shares each, but the new Tuesday movie slot held up with a 41 share from Clint Eastwood's "Magnum Force." The network's entire Saturday line up continued to limp in, as Bob Newhart Tony Randall, The Jeffersons, Maude and Kojak all scored sub 30 shares (with the exception of Newhart's 29, in fact, all scored sub -25 shares). NBC premiered its new Chuck Barris Rah Rah Show on Tuesday (8 -9 p.m.),when it pulled a 24 share. The second episode of Quark had a 27, three points down from its premiere. There might be the temptation to conclude that the 29 share turned in by the National Love, Sex and Marriage Test on Sunday (9:30 -10 p.m.) proves the appetite for "sophisticated" subject matter is not insatiable after all, except that its competition was not only CBS's strong comedy block but also ABC's rerun of "The Way We Were," which pulled a 35 share. Of NBC's other midseason entries -CPO Sharkey, Black Sheep Squadron, James at 16 and Class of '65 -CPO Sharkey turned in the highest score of the week, a 27.   *NBC were in dire straits at this point relying on movies and specials which could hit or bomb in equal measure.  Fred Silverman had his work cut out for him when he arrived that Summer. He favored sitcoms and series as the schedule's foundation and NBC had no sitcoms to build on and few solid series. He also had a big backlog of specials/mini series that had been committed to air. Also NBC had a long standing relationship with Universal so he was forced to work with that studio. He struggled to get quality producers on board as they were either tied into deals with ABC/CBS or were wary of having their shows on the 3rd rated network. He still felt variety had a place on the schedule however and that lead to duds like Susan Anton, The Big Show and Pink Lady and Jeff.

    • I spent years hoping we would get an oral history like the OLTL book, but it’s too late now with so many having passed away.
    • It’s also strange that it was Monica! I just don’t think of her as the staring off into space type of woman! I watched a bunch of other clips and stuff from random 1978 and 1979 episodes. I’m so used to seeing movement from Monty’s era, especially the early part, that this really is a cool relic. Pretty soon you have scenes start at the new nurses station, the elevators opening and doctors walking to the desk to get their messages from Jessie or Bobbie. People often walk towards doors while taking coats on or off, many Webber house scenes start or end with someone walking up the stairs. This episode is even more static than some of the way earlier ones I have seen, where you would have Steve or Jessie at least going from the old school nurses desk to the medicine room, Steve’s office, etc. That bland dialogue is very much like what they have now. The show picks up a lot of personality. Knowing what we know about David Hamilton and how that really started to get the ball rolling as far as viewers you really see just how vital Lesley and especially Laura were to get things moving for them. They focused on the right characters to get fast results. The show now could learn a thing or two from this.
    • It won't allow me to watch it via the link; I am only able to watch it with the app.
    • Just finished the Goldfinch. Read it in 4-5 days... and it's a huuuuge book. Well... I would rate the first 500 pages a solid 10 out of 10... but then the next 300 were kind of a letdown... so the overall impression is something like - 7/10. It's just very hard to give something a full 10 after reading A little life.  Still... loved it immensely and would probably re-read it in the future. There is a movie adaptation... starring Nicole Kidman... that I haven't seen.
    • I realize I harp on this, but I think he spending is relevant.  She's not just buying new wigs. She's building a mansion, she's funding a sports complex, she's paying for operations for people she doesn't know, she's caring for Peaches, she's buying apartments. We saw ?her get ONE check for ONE million dollars. That's it. I may be wrong, but I thought they said she'd get a payment every 6 months. Regardless, she could not rule the roost on $1M, and the show is not doing a good job there. Pretending that doesn't matter? I can't do that.  All they had to do was add a couple lines about payouts and payments.  In other news, I would love to know just how much Anita was putting into that trust as well as what investment got her what has to be an incredible return.
