I like Nik and Ava as well, and I hope that Ava and Trina are the catalysts to father and son re-evaluating both of their choices that led to this and Hannah banana  Echinacea finds her way off the turret at Wyndemere. (Special guest appearance by Constance Towers as Helena's ghost placing something in her path that Enema trips over.)

Both Nikolas and Spencer have done plenty of Boneheaded things to arrive at this place. The women they are both crazy about working together to heal the rift between them is just good soap. I can see Ava wanting peace and having a willingness to forgive Spencer because of her not testifying against Valentin.

I know he's her friend, but I'm glad Curtis didn't defend her actions. He was only looking out for Wiley.

I was so scared when Michael got tough with Nina...

I wonder if the end of Esme may be closer than we think. I'm a bit surprised that they had Spencer reveal she was the one that set the fire so soon. And they are having more and more people become suspicious of her/think she's really any good, including people that aren't connected to the stalker situation. Today Nikolas said that he thinks she likes to stir the pot, while the teens continue to distrust her, & even people like Curtis & Michael/Willow found her to be untrustworthy/annoying. She looked a bit shocked when the teens told her about her plan failing & how it was revealed she set the fire. I had thought she might have been running amok longer without people knowing about stuff like the fire, but that came out quickly when the stalker reveal did.

Maybe she's closer to being out the door than people may think.  Granted the actress is on contract (though who knows how that may play out) and I do think they may try something with her/Cam. Maybe depending on how things shake out with Cam/her current story might impact how long she might stick around. I am interested in seeing how they explain her backstory/connection to Ryan and where that may lead her character.

I enjoyed today's show. It focused more on the mystery storylines that are currently going on and that's fine. It was nice to see Robert back and working with Anna. I also liked seeing Nurse Chloe again, she has good chemistry with Drew, I wonder if they will interact again.

Speaking of Drew I enjoyed his scenes with Valentin. Cam/James have good chemistry together and their scenes in the cell were the best part of the show for me today. They fit together and I like how they interacted/played off each other to try and put things together regarding their abductions and other mysteries. I also liked how Valentin was telling Drew about Scout and what type of person she was.

I also thought it was interesting that Valentin/Victor want to work together to deal with Peter.

lol the show must too because it's like they're dropped and then played to fill their guarantees

Both really could go tomorrow. I don't see the point in either of them.

Ah. Yep, I bet they are

Ryan and some real Cassadine supervillain business, not the weak [!@#$%^&*] they've served up for many years. And yes, an actual Jason/Carly affair behind Sonny's back (however implausible for them after so many years) might work to at least get buzz for the reveal, which they utterly failed to do so far.

    • You're probably right. They may have just wanted edits of certain characters. Hopefully the rest is around.
    • Of course!

I'm wondering if there were bits cut from this footage, because to me it seems that may be the case. At 11:23, Laurie tells her psychiatrist that the bar phoned and told her Mark got into a fight and needs to be picked up. It starts to fade to the next scene, you hear some different music begin and get cut off between the static, and where you'd expect to see the aftermath of the fight, we cut back to a later scene of Laurie in bed worrying about what's happening. The credits at the end also show that more than Mark, Laurie and Dr. Northcote should have been in this episode. Another character, Brody, played by Ed Setrakian, is mentioned but not shown. If this is the case, perhaps the original fan who saved this episode has the additional scenes.
    • Anyway… It’s a shame that the video that depicted Leticia’s death was removed from YT.

I've never seen a trainwreck like this in my entire life. 5 pencils and 3 dolls?!!!!!!!!!!! (this little moment starts close to the 7th minute) WOW. THIS IS HAPPENING IN AMERICA?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    • Ms. Phelps holds a BFA in directing from Carnegie Mellon University, awarded in 1972. At a time when women were underrepresented in directing programs, she was one of the few women in her graduating class. To suggest that she possessed no further talents than completely changing the style of music used on soaps seems like a vast underestimate when one reads her online biography through an objective lens. I guess that I should be more clever than to constantly blame misogyny for these misguided interpretations of her management style.  But, I'll never comprehend why fans unquestionably align their opinions even years after fact. Post-modernism, and the ability to reinterpret context through the study of history, seems to elude this conversation.

    • This is 100% correct.  It was even on the nightly news where the US Government would not let the cast and crew travel to Egypt because it was deemed not safe.  The Achille Lauro hijacking took place on October 7, 1985, when the Italian ocean liner MS Achille Lauro was hijacked by four men representing the Palestine Liberation Front off the coast of Egypt, as she was sailing from Alexandria to Ashdod, Israel. The location shoot was probably scheduled to be filmed in mid-October to air throughout November with a two week tape to air date.  Remember on the show they did some in studio scenes doubling for Egypt before shifting the action to Arizona.  It was an awkward end to a truly bizarre storyline.

New episode from late 1973 or early 1974!
    • Coronation Street had a very good story where one of the characters befriended a man who she later learned had been involved in her husband's death - when told right it can be very powerful (not like AMC trying to make it a romance). ATWT almost had a big fire in mid-1994, so this seemed to be a "thing" with P&G at the time. I guess it fits the disaster backstage atmosphere.
    •   @jmgaw did not refer to Luke and Laura. Throughout 78 GH's ratings continued to rise as AW's fell. That turnaround was getting a lot of attention in the soap press with Scotty/Laura, Rick/Leslie/Monica etc . So the 90 min decision was a reaction to that. I guess the thinking was that 60 min expansion had worked so starting AW a half hour before might keep viewers from switching to GH at 3pm. I don't think anybody really thought it would work. The most sensible solution would have been to expand The Doctors and hope for a GH like turnaround, but for reasons unknown TD never went to an hour.
