Such a waste . And like Tara, he just got dropped without any follow through.

I am getting distracted by Eric Braeden obviously reading his lines via cue cards etc. When he was talking to Nick at Society he was doing his usual non eye contact thing and odd phrasing. When Victor left the table you could see writing on the menu that was placed on the table and I'm pretty sure it wasn't 'today' s specials'.

If he can no longer remember his lines he should have the dignity to bow out, or take a more limited role.

It must be frustrating for the other actors.

Also, last week,Sally,Adam and Chloe had an encounter at the deserted Crimson Lights. Then later in the episode,Adam was in his office and I'm wondering why the scene wouldn't have been staged there? Were those CL scenes taped at a different time and all 3 actors not on set for an office scene? Puzzling.

I was watching some 2017 episodes and the difference is obvious. Larger sets, more of them and extras...

I haven't wanted to be insensitive so I haven't brought it up but since we were talking on another threads about whether, as an older actor, I would prefer to work until the bitter end, at the risk of my character death story being rushed and abrupt and not having the same impact (see: Katherine who had a nice funeral and then... nothing) or whether I'd want to go out on my own terms to leave the show the time to put together a really good exit story that provides closure, a final great performance, a good homage to the character and set up things so that the aftermath reverbates for years.

Let me say I had Victor in mind. EB is 80yo. I wish him many decades more of life but let's be honest. The time is approaching.
Victor will leave a huge hole on the canvas and I think it is misguided and unfair on the show to resist planning for his exit. There are years of potentially great drama surrounding his inheritance and the battle between his children if it is properly set up.
But having him just not wake up one day isn't the spectacular exit a character like Victor deserves. Imagine  a story of Victor having to deal with not feeling as strong anymore - how a man with such an attachment to his self-image as a strong man would cope with that - and then a story of Victor, feeling life slip away, revisiting his past loves (cameos!), his choices, having a Brooke-and-Stephanie-style conversation with Jack, etc That would be amazing TV potentially and ratings blockbuster.
And the right thing to do for the fans and the show even if it is sad.

So I doubt he will but I'd like him to start thinking about his legacy and the show even if it must be sad to have to leave a show that has been such a part of your life for decades.

I never imagined Y&R would be the worst looking soap. Where is the budget going exactly? Because it's not being pumped into production. The contrast between Y&R and GH is stark. GH has huge, new sets. Y&R looks so cramped and sad in comparison.

Speculation only but looking at the cast, Y&R is the show that still have the most "headliners" from decades ago - and consistent headliners, not people they fired and brought back (aka people they showed were not necessary and therefore can afford to pay less)
I bet their actors' budget is inflated in that way.

There’s been rumblings for a while that Sharon is going to devolve and go back to crazy town, this kind of indicates it as such.

I had joked recently about how Ron Carlivanti would write Y&R, pretty sure Ashland would be discovered to be either Prentiss Brooks or Eric Garrison with the old women being Dina lol.

In a way Sharon been back in crazy town for a while. Not batshit, kleptomaniac, bipolar baby stealing/swapping unhinged deer in the headlights psycho Sharon was from 2009-2016 and again briefly in 2018 but she is definitely unmoored at the moment….her continued friendship and obsession with Adam all the while absurdly being his therapist, her volatile marriage to Rey, ignorance of Faith etc. I hate it all it’s pretty icky.

    • Where do you discover this crazy rumor??
    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.

Melissa was here today & we went to Michael's Crafts & Ofc Depot. In Michael's there were two beautiful LITTLE girls who kept staring at me, so I gave them a littel wave & very quietly said HI & then did back. I told Melissa they were staring at me. She smiled & said "Purple. A lot of little girls love purple & you forget but you have purple hair. Seeing you their whole imaginations are transformed! Thinking "That lady has purple hair. That means I can have purple hair! They had no clue before seeing you that it was possible." I just laughed & laughed.
    • This opening scene is hilarious...it's like someone wrote out the script for Philip with one hand. And Rick...sniffing a scarf over and over. And in their next scene they are still sniffing the [!@#$%^&*] scarf as the camera stays all over Philip's bare chest and armpits as he keeps working out. Insane stuff.

Bay City better be ready, because I'm back!   At Vicky's apartment she is once again drowning in doubts and jealousy. Deep down she realizes that her dream wedding will be a farce and nothing can change that. Bridget tries to calm her down, but the heroine is determined to suffer. She is not hearing any positive thoughts. She doesn't believe Jamie will marry her. At the Cory Publishing building another farce is in process. Iris, once again pretending to be the angel of love and sisterhood... is telling Mac and Rachel some wonderful news. When Iris has good news, you really need to look out for yourself. That's when things are bad. So what are the news? Miss Devil has put Amanda up for an award! Mac is smiling from ear to ear, and Rachel is suspicious. Maybe that's the effect Iris is looking for. To once again accent on the fact that Rachel doubts and criticizes her daughter. Iris will do anything to destabilize their relationship. She is like a cancer. Back to Vicky! Jamie is at the door. Looking like a sad puppy, he has come with a surprise. No, he is not gonna leave her and her unborn... Not yet. He has bought her earrings. Sad face. How nice. NOT. Victoria, of course... manages to break one of them the moment she touches it. Bad premonition maybe? She was back in hysterics. It's not easy to trap a man into marriage. Then you have to live with someone that didn't want you in the first place.  We were introduced to a new character (to me at least she is new) - Cass's sister - Stacey. She is giving me "hidden skeletons in the closet"-vibes. Love a girl like that. Stunning actress. I like her. The highlight of the episode was the strange and creepy reveal of Evan the escort... hugging someone named Janice's grave. I remember she had an issue with Rachel... and Rachel killed her in self defense I think... It was hinted in prior episodes, but I lack the context and story. I just know that everyone at the Frame house was mad that Rachel killed the bish. But I also got the impression that this Janice was sick in the head. So Evan is now talking to her grave and telling her he is going to ruin Rachel's life basically. Oh, Evan... I liked you better as a sexy gigolo.  Overall - 10/10 - how can I rate it lower when I haven't watched in months!!!

    • Once again, Marlena and Kayla were used very effectively and I couldn’t be happier.  Marlena counseling Johnny and then Chanel was the best part of today. They’re really delving into the human emotion of this storyline and I think that’s a good thing. It feels so much mature than it was before. EJ’s fear about what could happen to Johnny if he doesn’t let go of his anger could lead to some really good storylines in the future.  I also really appreciate the way that Paula/Jeanne are mixing it up and having different characters interact with each other. It was nice to see Shawn and Johnny remember that they’re cousins and share a scene together. I liked the parallel that was drawn between the two of them, and what’s going on with their fathers. I did have mixed feelings about everything with Cat though. I enjoyed Chanel warning her about EJ, mostly because it played into the way that she was written today. But I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Chad/EJ scenes. The two of them discussing Chad’s potential feelings for Cat didn’t really keep my interest.  But above all, I feel that everyone is being used more effectively and that we’re getting a better understanding of everyone as well. And that was exactly what Days needed.
    • It's a wild story for sure, especially the final conclusion (and fireworks offcamera, like Victoria Wyndham tearing into Michael Logan).
