Well, I did like Ryan at first.  Maybe he won’t be shoved down my throat again.

isn’t this cast kind of bloated already though, especially in his age range?

Good lord the cast is gigantic and they don't even use some people well. I don't dislike him but is he really needed? Is he for Elizabeth?

Now I'm waiting the "Rebecca Budig back to GH", but they for some reason don't seem to want her.

Is Frons secretly running things?

i have this feeling that there was a 10 years later clause in ABC's cancellation of "All My Children" and "One Life to Live," otherwise "General Hospital" can't carry this many actors, especially on contract.

Well, better a recast then a brand new character. There are so many established characters with storyline potential that we don't need any new ones.

The show is getting too crowded again though

I didn't mind Ryan in his early yrs with Gillian. But later on he was shoved down the viewers throats. GH doesn't need another underdeveloped shoehorned character. I doubt his character will be a doctor. I can't picture him as mobster. GH doesn't care for their legacy characters. So i don't expect him to be the new Steven Lars. Which i actually wouldn't mind.

I loved Ryan and Gillian. I'm still upset over her death 20 years later. LOL. But I agree he was shoved down our throats along with Budig, Minshew and Kaye. It was an endless cycle of swapping partners, babies, explosions, trauma ... it was tiresome. I don't dislike any of them but it wears you out on them and their character.

Frons had some hard-on with Ryan and Greenlee being some supercouple in his eyes. I imagine he dictated who was frontburner.

My feeling is that he won't be playing Ryan. I would *think* the AMC characters are off limits for the time being given this primetime series is in development. (Not that Ryan would factor in anyway.)

Could he be playing Lucky?  I know he's quite a bit older than JJ, but he's only a few years older than GV.

I would storm ABC studios if he was playing Ryan again.  Out of all the characters to spend money on......

    • Anyway...they literally mentioned the secret room today on Days and yes, this show needs a Kristen lesbian story lol.
    • Yes, they did a 'premiere' of Maggie's death episodes at the ArcLight theatre in Los Angeles, arguably then the nicest movie theatre chain in the USA. Plus, Suzanne and Deidre were in a ton of scenes together during this time. Whatever happened between them happened after 2004.
    • There are episodes with Jenny (Mary Ellen Stuart) that she was in pre-writers strike.. and I know that she lasts until at least August 1988. It's a shame that the show didn't try pairing her with Rusty since the two had more chemistry than she had with Ross and that he had with Rose.
    • Was that when she put on the"Slut of Springfield" red dress and made a complete ass of herself at the CC, so of course Alan fell madly in love with her on the spot?
    • Oohh...now I'm not sure. Long did come back in '87, didn't she. She broke up Ross and Vanessa almost from her first minute back. Van and Ross are at the Country Club when Josh dumps Reva. And Reva dramatically drapes herself on the CC stairs.
    • Glad you enjoyed watching. Yes, Michael seems like fun. I am always interested in more of these niche talk show appearances.
    • Thanks for the tag @DRW50
    • Upon reflection, I think you're right, their chilliness toward each other was more recent. She said women on the show in 1984 were not supportive and she still stays away from them. She seems friendly with Susan Hayes so Deidre is the only woman still around from those days, though I guess Kristian Alfonso and Leann Hunley could also qualify. And it might be someone long gone but who is still present in Suzanne's social circles.
    • I don't know.  The animosity seems to be more recent than the mid 80s.  When Maggie was a victim of the Salem Stalker i remember reading an interview with Suzanne where she said they aired the episode(s) surrounding Maggie death in a theatre and made a big deal about it.  Suzanne was very upset about being fired and Dee comforted her and said that they were making such a big deal about it because it was Suzanne/Maggie.  I cannot find the article but I will keep trying. That said Suzanne's comments on Soapy about how some of the female cast members treated her during her illness was disappointing to hear to say the least.
    • Anyway... Kristen should have a prison lesbian story arc. And then come out and become obsessed with Marlena so we can move her on from the Brady nonsense. Is that secret room still in the DiMera mansion?
