The young adults on Degrassi got up to more mischief than Faith is doing right now if I'm honest. I hope plans for Moses come to fruition.

I would also SORAS Johnny and make him the "Phillip Spaulding" of the Newman and Abbott families. And have Connor as the "spare" of the Newman's too. Also, bring back a rebellious yet sensitive Lucy who runs away to live with Grandma Phyllis due to Daniel and Heather having problems down in Savannah. They also could bring on a black or POC teen female on recurring who isn't related to anyone to mix it up with them.

Newman and Jabot can still tell actual stories about cosmetics. It only takes a Google search and a imagination. But I wonder is it a mandate or is it JG and Co. disinterested in telling stories of the actual corporate world?

And not presenting basic ideas on a PowerPoint Presentation. Then again why does Newman only have one employee? Instead of Abby's fertility being the main storyline. It should've been her going back to Newman when it comes out about what Gloria has on that thumb drive. She and Victoria can clash over business and it will also get Chance and she conflict about her spending all of her time at the office. Instead of with him.

Amanda's backstory hopefully will be explored more with perhaps Naya deciding to bond with her. As Imani gets jealous of her mother bonding with her. Perhaps we find out Naya husband is running for some big political office role. And another reason why she doesn't want Amanda to appear with her in public causing more tension between them as they grow closer.

Reading through the thread, nothing gets me to watch. I DVR it everyday but never have the desire to hit play. Sigh. Why is Griffith still here? Does no one else want the job? Ya'll miss Sally Sussman Morina yet? lol

I primarily think it’s because the powers that be are content with the show just pottering along. Acceptance that the show (and genre) isn’t what it was, but the viewership isn’t totally in the toilet.

Though I wouldn’t be surprised if nobody wants the gig. Or at least anyone the studios would want.

Could be wrong, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the Head Writers of the remaining soaps (Carlivati, O’Connor/Van Etten, even Bradley Bell) are the only people the studio would make a change for, if they left those shows and became available/interest.

And yes, I’ve missed Sally Sussman and Kay Alden’s writing ever since they left. Mal Young was a poor fit for the show and sadly, some of his production ticks have remained. And we know about how things are now.

I agree that Sony is content with Josh Griffin at this point even if he tanked the ratings since his return. They will just ride with him until CBS pulls the plug probably because no one much better is available and there is no way they are allowing anyone from the Bill Bell writing tree to return at this point.

Playing catch-up...on 1-12...and...

...saw Justin Gaston gone and saw DB Chance and just thought of the Tiffany 'New York' Pollard 'Not You' gif.

Just...ugh.

Loving how this Amanda story has legs. Not looking forward to the abrupt pacing change this board has warned me about. lol.

@KMan101 I stay missing SSM. Her and Kay brought me back to regular viewing. And I'm happy to see your comments over on the GH Thread. I will be getting around to comment eventually. Much missed.

I want Phyllis/Summer vs. Sally. Sally would sink her hooks into Jack for money and power (while schtupping Kyle on the side—shades of Jill/John/Jack), and Phyllis would realize she truly loves Jack instead of Nick (as Stafford truly only has chemistry with Peter Bergman).

Hopefully Tricia will be available for regular returns.

I'm wondering why Mariah, who is childless and in a relationship, would agree to carry another woman's child?

Wouldn't she and/or Tessa be thinking about a child of their own?

Maybe Chance should  have reservations about using Mariah - something to create some sort of conflict.

The stories are so boring at the moment. At least no serious damage is being done.

    • John loved Sami unconditionally and forever
    • On May 27, Johnny spoke to Sami on the phone, and learned that Sami and Sydney were trying to fly in from Sicily, but were stopped by a volcanic eruption because the ash had grounded all the planes. As discussed on the May thread, ash from Mt. Etna in Sicily caused planes to be grounded in summer 2024, so Cwikly/Ford would have known that.  (I just learned that Mt. Etna has been considered "active" with intermittent activity since 2022, including April and May 2025.) Friday May 30, Will said that Sami and Sydney found another flight and will be here soon. Well, Sami and Sydney got out just in time, because … There was (and still is ongoing) a huge eruption of Mt. Etna that began very early Monday morning June 2 Italy time (which would be Sunday night June 1st Chicago time) and a volcanic ash plume had reached an altitude of around 6,400 metres (around 3 or 4 miles high) https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/mount-etna-eruption-volcano-smoke-lava-live-updates-b2761911.html
    • Agree to disagree. Like first, love second. OH, agree, agree, agree! Legendary Featherstone, you're not dressing this one well at all. Petite woman with ample bosom, wrong clothes = awful  matronly looking ugh. I'm sorry but I felt hit over the head with everything each of them thought & felt for about 6 more days than I felt I had signed on for.  I don't know you well enough to know if you will know when I'm teasing, so I've just warned you that I am when I say, I hate for you that you haven't actually met Danielle before. LOL. To me it was just a natural take.  I have no problem going back & forth between those two focal sites. But, I am certainly aware that early on I had an expectation of being really into their having 27 sets & that has definitely not been the realization. And, yes, for now, Frank is still heads above any & all others with us & sets IMO.  Huh? Guza gone. I have it in my head that he was only willing to come out of retirement (and presumed mourning) for a "certain amount of time" to help get this new creature launched, but had no desire to stay & so was one of the "over-staffed intentionally" that we were told about. Of course there's been no official word on the circumstances of his leaving.  But, you might mean go with Guza as in a style, if so, ignore the last para.

    • I'm so pleased we have such fan engagement about Dani. Reminds me of some other soap characters. I think it's because they are "polarizers" which is a word I may have just made up. They are polarizing on their shows to other characters & to story & they are polarizing in the audience as fans seem to have extreme reactions to them, love & hate, not middling neutrality, ya know? Well, it's a theory.  To me the human being you seek has been amply shown especially to two people & both more or less recently. Her sister bond with Nicole, whoa, has knocked me back & blown me away. And, with Chelsea, over her budding sexual identity and awareness. She gathered instantly that something was up with that daughter & was laser focused on her for several scenes. Then, for a third, she & Pamela have finally, also recently, been so real & genuine & authentic.
    • Thanks, Paul, I did not know about his interest in the comedic elements or that he was one of our many people who came from the network! I have always liked Marlena de la Croix's writing, which is not to say I 100% agree with her. She's been a member of my FB soap group for a good long time & she actually posts, which I love. Recently I posted about an e-copy of Robert LaGuardia's SOAP WORLD that is free to borrow like a library e-book but on the Internet Archive site & I posted that at the time of their publications, all of his soap opera books were the gold standard.  She immediately posted about "Bob" who was her close friend & how much she still misses him to this day & that he loved to talk soaps & was also a nice guy, etc. which I was over the moon to have her share about the author & his time etc. like that!!!
    • Just more RTD ego trips, seemingly his main reason for coming back.
    • Thanks @Paul Raven  That's a lovely writeup. Do fans feel it was warranted?
    • So I was reminded that we're now meant to be celebrating PRIDE by this amazing post:
