I don’t know what to think of Maura West sometimes. I feel like she’s been giving that same damn performance for years, regardless of the role.

I’ve largely found her to be a steaming hot mess on GH for most of her run, but that’s probably an unpopular opinion.

Was this the pinnacle of the background music? It was so atmospheric that even a small scene like Brad walking into Lauren's office had me on the edge of my seat. I wish this episode had been a three parter during the week with Victor's return at whatever party he threw, then this episode and then Jack vs. Victor.

I don't know much about Brad....is Brad similiar to Bill from B&B at all?

The last couple of years of ATWT did her no favors, with Carly faking illnesses, running around with Wally Kurth’s bizarre character, affair with Holden and then becoming a raging alcoholic then she was so miscast on Y&R. Always loved Maura but boy she had it a rough time of it.

I've always thought she wasn't much more than a bunch of tics and affectations. And her face on GH is always so shiny, like she just went for a jog. Seems like a lovely woman though.

Brad was a playboy (he's slept with Nikki, Victoria, Traci, Ashley, Lauren, Jill and...I'm sure countless others) but basically a good person. Not at all like Bill.

Thanks! I can't stand Bill which the writing does him no favors. A waste to kill of Brad and then create DD a crap role but he seems to enjoy Bill.

I see the method of introducing a c story halfway through the episode with Olivia and Ashley...kept the tension going for me as they built up to Victor and Jack coming face to face. Were Ashley and I think this is Blade popular? Did Olivia's mother coming to live with her lead Nathan to have the affair? If so, brilliant planning there.

Also forgot to mention it was nice seeing Lauren in business mode. I have watched since 2006-ish and NEVER realized she was actually running anything outside a small boutique.

The cliffhanger was phenomenal. Y&R literally milks every moment. I would love to see the next episode in good quality.

It is kind of sad that around 2014 I totally lost interest in the entire Newman family, Jack, Neil, Cane, Lily,  etc. and would have been happy with a total reboot because seeing this classics..boy this show lost its way. I actually enjoyed the Rosales and Ana Hamilton arriving a year or so ago for this reason but then the show had changed the production and it still just did not feel right to me.

Maura is most definitely playing Carly in the clip above (wtf at him throwing her out of the ambulance), and it illustrates precisely the problem with Carly Tenney Snyder. She was bitter and angry for a solid 5 (maybe 10?) years. Half of her lines were said through gritted teeth and the other half were yelled from one end of Oakdale to the other. At one point, there was a compilation video of her angrily uttering Jack's name, weirdly referred to as "Carly's KKK."

Yikes! I seriously wonder if they could do some type of Xoom or Skype episode like what the show All Rise did although I have zero clue how to even sustain story unless they did one once a week.

I think Maura does grand work often with dogshit as evil queen Ava on GH, but @DRW50's referring to her as "Fire Marshall Bill" from In Living Color has never left my mind. When Ava gets going, everything is a deranged rictus of some insane emotion. It's camp but it mostly works.

I was worried that the 1981 episode would do badly and it would scare them away from airing such old episodes, but it tied GH for #1 and had 2.2 million viewers! Hopefully they take some of the half hour episodes and show them.

    • On that same note, it's astounding to have mobster Sonny in the same office with Mayor Laura chatting it up about their mutual grandson. Think about the reaction if John Gotti and Mayor Eric Adams had a friendship

?? I guess the Logic behind Sonny & Jason acceptance is like when i saw a documentary where FBI agents said they'd rather deal with the mafia than terrorists or cartels---they're the "lesser of 3 evils". Anyway I'm about 30 years late on this convo.
    • Im confused. Does Jessica know anything about June's relation to Tyrell? At the start of the episode, it seemed like June was gonna slip that he was her son but she caught herself but later in the episode she referred to him as "my boy" and Jessica had no reaction like that wasnt a surprise to her No, Anita was putting money in the account every 6 months but we werent told how much was in it when Leslie became a beneficiary. The show has set it up that it was multiplying based off the interest so that its really worth quite alot now. I dont buy it but thats what they've told us
    • What was the point in Lori's return as Mrs. Max Hollister? That little story never made much sense to me.  Were there plans for a permanent return? Or even a new family with her as the matriarch?
    • I guess it depends on your device.  I can watch CW shows via their website on my Windows PC.
    • Ooooo A Liam episode? I'll watch it later today. They sure are churning the daily episodes out early.

    • Welcome back, Shawn Douglas! It's been a while. It really is too bad that the writers don't really have an interest in the character because there are still a lot of ways that he can be used effectively on the canvas. He should have been a part of the 60th anniversary celebrations as well. If anything, just to represent Bo and Hope. And I'd much rather see Jada paired with him than possibly with Theo. But I enjoyed him getting caught up with Belle, and comforting her. I'm sure they'll find their way back to each other at some point but I do like them as divorced friends. I just hope we see it play out onscreen. Belle being a dick about Sami again was unnecessary though. And we finally saw Liam again!  I'm curious to see how this storyline is going to play out, and who's going to be weaved into it. He and Abe do work well together too. And we learned that he has a kid. Hopefully, we'll learn more about his character in the future. But I'm not really sure about Johnny and Chanel suddenly having problems with raising Trey. They've wanted a baby for so long, so I don't understand why this is even an issue. They should know by now what it's like to raise a baby. But I did enjoy Johnny's scenes with EJ, and that Johnny still hasn't refused to forgive him. This storyline was/is very clunky, but having the two of them be at odds is the right decision. There's so much story potential that can be drawn from that. As for Chad... there was no time for us to see his reunion with Will, but there's time for us to see him talking BS with Leo? I don't get it. And I don't get all this random dating app stuff either. Leo and Javi were boring af too. If we're forced to endure them, can they at least have some real conflict? The two of them losing the baby was the perfect opportunity for it.
