Josie Davis? I did but Grace was really a different character at that point. Honestly, I think it was more about Davis' Grace was a better fit with Nick Scotti's Tony.  Once Gareis was in the role, the show seemed to have little to no use for Scotti but yeah, I have to admit, I never truly got used to Gareis in the role.

I liked Tony. I remember when he was recast. Btw the episode that aired today in 1998 was still pulling a 67 rating. Considering all the recasts that was pretty good.

Just a small note for tomorrow's US episode in regards to Nikki and Victor's 2002 Wedding:

The episode was heavily edited to focus on Nikki and Victor's wedding which had scenes from mostly the 2002-09-05 show, but also a few from the 2002-09-09 and 2002-09-10 show. Scenes that were cut in the original airing included Raul in the hospital after recovering from a drunk driving accident after an argument with Brittany, and a brief Jack and Phyllis scene as Phyllis was heavily distracted by her feud with Diane. Scenes that were added include the Niktor Wedding Dance and Ashley daydreaming about a life with Victor and Abby with a photo montage at the end. In my opinion, this edit was well done.

Jeez. Did they cut Raul entirely or just some of it? I have a copy of 9/5/02 and am uploading to your vault (YouTube blocked it last time), but I'm not 100% sure whether it's the original or a prior rebroadcast. That's some BS. It was 36 minutes long. I don't like this creative editing.

All of Raul, Mac, and Brittany was cut. The rebroadcast is on the vault if you want to catch it!

One change I do appreciate (and especially because I've communicated this to Mike Dobson over Twitter) was that some of the cues originally dubbed at the wrong pitch was corrected (which had been a problem since late 2001 and wasn't corrected until last year).

Also the wedding singer was cut out with an arrangement of "Here Comes the Bride", though if I remember correctly she wasn't all that popular LOL.

Watching the 1987 episode now and Terry Lester’s Jack and Peter Bergman’s(the only Jack I know) are basically entirely different characters.

Wait the Allstate guy was on Y&R?!

I love that for the most part Eileen, Eric, and Melody never messed up their faces and when you see them today they’re still recognizable.

    • And the rating 'wars' continue...hehe.
    • Well, it was fun while it lasted for Rebecca Herbst. Le sigh.
    • I am wholeheartedly enjoying this show. I just haven't been able to post as much as I used to. But yes, this episode needs to be submitted for the EMMYs and there needs to be wins. I better NOT see Y&R, DAYS, or B&B winning in categories over BTG. I feel like the only show that is giving BTG an ounce of competition this season is GH.
    • I never thought the day would come, but too much MM for me.
    • I think it may be that the character was brought in for a specific purpose and then became popular with viewers, and the show didn't know how to respond.  The choice to pivot away from Simon/India may show that you are right and they didn't care for her...although pairing them up may be another sign they didn't care for her. I don't connect well with this period but it does make me happy seeing some of these characters before the great purge and some of the surprises - I'd forgotten the wonderful Maureen O'Sullivan popped up to be bumped off. So typical of soaps by this point, but it doesn't grate as much as later on when Y&R would bring on any random cast member from Small Wonder. I'm also amazed at this time at just how much money the show must have had. The costumes for the Founder's celebration in summer 1984, or whatever it was, looked gorgeous.
    • Which officially started to feel that way today with them hearing each other out as they confronted each other at the same time.    Same. He was even catching himself when he was about to go overboard or do those tics that people don't seem to like. He failed a bit at the end, but he carried. It makes me think about a month back when it was discussed that the actor was better in other things he's been in. And I questioned then if that meant that he was playing Martin more intentionally. I questioned that briefly again today because he was giving.
    • I really like the actress who plays Margo. Don't know  her name. I'm so hesitant to google anyone because I don't want to know the length they were on the show. I've watched two episodes and I have to say that the show does not feel as dated as other shows. I tried to watch Ryan's Hope a few weeks back and some of the acting was a bit rough. EON is a lot more natural which amuses me considering it's a mystery/thriller show.
    • She’s INCREDIBLE. I’m so glad you enjoyed this my friend.
    • I loved SOAP OPERA NOW because they  did detailed analysis of the ratings. https://www.instagram.com/p/DJS504ep-ff/ 14th Annual SOD Awards 1998 GH Edit with a Y&R shout-out to Bill Bell who is then seen in the audience.
