Members alphanguy74
Yes, many rural hospitals closed. But I have to tell you, most of those rural hospitals blew chunks to start with. Their quality of care was crap 30 years ago.

Members alphanguy74
That is extremely sad, and what happens in a huge city like that where you are a faceless number. So many people with nobody to claim their body.
Members Gray Bunny
I heard yesterday the deaths in Missouri are in fact 100% African American.
Members JaneAusten
You just keep making assumptions don't you. Who said the dead are not claimed? They are burying the dead right now because morticians are overwhelmed and they are running out of space in the refrigerator trucks.
Members Roman
they are. the governor is getting run up one side and down the other. his inaction has made the situation dire, so the St. Louis City mayor & County executive have just went ahead and they are basically running St. Louis.....same thing in Kansas City, even though the mayor of St. Charles refused to issue the order until he got DESTROYED and then changed his mind.
Members wingwalker
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-southkorea/south-korea-reports-recovered-coronavirus-patients-testing-positive-again-idUSKCN21S15X?fbclid=IwAR3pbZUoVocw2_pPs-YQDV3tZsz3EtYrSZVC-rrQ5LPKqjspcdflj3dIGgU Interesting article. 91 patients in Korea that had cleared have now tested positive for the virus again. There still isn't much data, but the article covers 3 theories they are working off of. 1) The virus has the ability to lay dormant in healthy cells before reactivating and making people sick again. It could mean the virus may act like hepatitis or HIV in that once your infected, you always carry the virus. 2) Testing failure. Meaning the patients were actually still positive but the test came back with a false negative. 3)Survivors do not acquire prolonged immunity. This would mean, that herd immunity would be impossible to ever achieve as too many people would be prone to reinfection.
Members Faulkner
So many egregious failures of leadership during this crisis... I’ve been reading about this and, yeah, wow.

Members marceline
I didn't vote for the guy and don't really like him but Gov. Mike DeWine has handled this situation very well. He's relied on the science, has been straightforward, made some tough decisions and has stayed away from political grandstanding. My heart breaks for the people in states like Florida or Georgia who are being led by Trump puppets willing to kill their own constituents just to keep the MAGA fiction going. WaPo has a nice article about how DeWine handled this: https://www.washingtonpost.com/national/health-science/did-ohio-get-it-right-early-intervention-preparation-for-pandemic-may-pay-off/2020/04/09/7570bfea-7a4f-11ea-9bee-c5bf9d2e3288_story.html
Members Juliajms
The same reason all people who gain major positions of power do it. They are very ambitions and feel that gaining that power is worth what you have to go through to get it. They also have very thick skin, even Chelsea Clinton has that and she never asked for what she's gone through. Ambition is still seen as an insult when applied to women, but that's the personality type it takes to even enter that arena, never mind win. Etsy or (god forgive me for recommending it), Nextdoor app. Someone a few blocks from you is probably crafting them right now in her living room.

Members DRW50
There's been some talk here about Sweden, which has been a topic of debate on how to handle COVID-19. There is some back and forth in these tweets.
