It's time for the media to stop covering these and just interview experts instead. They are doing nothing but bolstering Trump's appeal even though he has done absolutely nothing to warrant the support. Any time he melts down, it's just seen as the norm. Any time he doesn't melt down, it's seen as an amazing step forward.

Peter Alexander being "shocked" that such a minor question got such a vicious response tells you what you need to know about how much of a bubble the media remains in. They still want Trump to be their "strong father," like McCain was. Only days ago, Dana Bash was gushing over Trump for the bare minimum. Yet this will continue, as they need Trump to be what he will never be, and they also know that they are as replaceable as ever - imagine how they feel when they see Sean Spicer being shameless enough to come back and ask a question, showing them what a sham their jobs are.

Sounds like Pence's propaganda team in place. I'm sure he was less volatile, but considering his track record in Indiana (and I don't remember anything getting better with the White House handling either), I have a hard time believing he was much help here.

I just wonder how long it will be before Fauci and Bix are banished. Fauci was seen looking disdainful of one of his jokes today, so it won't be long.

I'm sorry about your friend. I was just thinking about some of my family who passed - one who was about the sweetest, kindest person I've known, and who'd developed heart problems, passed away just a month before all this really started. I think maybe it was a kindness.

I wonder if Joe's response is down to "where's Joe" trending. To be honest I think he may be better off avoiding this type of thing, after how badly the livestream was handled, but it's not up to me...

I, too, am sorry to hear about your friend, @Vee.  Papa Khan was a Type 2 diabetic, who was finally applying for his green card after living in this country since 1972, when he died, in 2012.  I've been thinking him more and more since this crisis began, actually thanking God he isn't alive to witness everything that's occurring.  No doubt, if my dad were alive, I'd be as worried about his possible exposure to the coronavirus as I am about Mama Khan, who is Type 2 as well.

IA.  These "briefings" do little to better inform the public, especially when the experts and the media have to go back and retract some of Donald Trump's lies immediately afterward.

No one in that administration has the guts to tell that man that he is literally of no use to this country right now, and that's sad (not to mention, dangerous).

No, I think Joe's being smart. Trump's daily briefings/praise sessions are falling apart and he's crumbling mentally more by the day. They're bad for his numbers but worse for the country. America needs to see some semblance of a sane, rational leader out in front of them every day of the crisis from the Democrats' side - we can't just do the work BTS and expect the media to give us attention after. We need a PR push now. Joe can do it. Pelosi can do it, even AOC can do it. And Dems starting to cut into Trump's daily live TV show will drive him even crazier.

This plan is definitely no where near as good as just sending everyone $1,000 per adult and $500 per child. It looks like people that didn't work in 2018 (or had income of less than $2,500) would get nothing. And as the author pointed out in the thread, it doesn't seem like it will create relief for a lot of other areas including not helping a lot of workers who will lose their jobs, or giving fiscal relief to states.

    • I do think there's room for optimism, especially with Amazon making enough new episodes to last until December. There's still time for the various players to get their ducks in a row. Guess we'll know soon enough!
    • I do agree it's better to just have people pop back into town. I never understood why Roger needed a mask on an island, when neither Fletcher or Alex would've known who he was. And the vine...sigh. Couldn't he have just been sent crashing through a window or something?
    • When the announcement was first made, I did wonder if other plans were in the works. I guess we can always keep hoping, especially as the show has a small core cast.
    • @chrismlAbout Lisa, agree to disagree. Actually at the time she was the only thing my partner & I disagreed about. Naturally she was Team Vicky while I was steadfast as Team Lisa.  About John & twin paternity, I think that like the 3 pillows was a transitory idea someone had that no one else agreed with. More of the attempt to accommodate Philece. About MJ, co-sign, 100% agree, if there were more degrees I would claim them. About Wally & Felicia, always a fan. Mitch? Eh, take or leave. Although I do agree that WGE is a really striking man. Who have I left out? I don't know so that's all I got.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.

    • Yeah when Jamey Giddens did breakdowns for DAYS, he would sometimes state in tweets that specific things were his idea that he had pitched to Ron.
