looking at his credits I wonder what made him decide to start doing soap? lol

he's 38-40, right around the guy playing Adam's age. Y&R stays casting younger for these old ass roles.

At least, on paper, bringing back Chance makes some kind of sense. It was long past time for Cane to go so I'm not mad at the idea either.  Still, JG will probably muck it up.

Although I regarded Chloe as a highly cliche, overused millennial name, I can understand why they wouldn't go with Katherine and even perhaps, any form of the name, out of regard to Katherine Chancellor who was very much alive and on the canvas when Chloe debuted.  Still, there were times, especially when Chloe and Chance were dating, that I couldn't help but wonder how odd it could be if they got married and Chloe decided to use her real name.

I made a lot of fun of Grossman for looking old in his photos, only for him to not look that bad oncamera (and to be a decent actor, even if the material was still garbage), so I will hold back, but I feel like this is pointless with the state of the show. I don't want to see a rivalry with Billy or a rivalry with Devon (especially since a black man won't be winning that rivalry), and I don't want to see another quasi-bad boy or a beefstick.

I would love to see Nina again, but I wonder if that's even going to happen. Didn't she last appear in that trashy story where Paul cheated on her with Christine?

As for seeing Nina, we have yet to see Olivia despite 2 Nates and Neil's death.

To be fair, the actors may have refused an offer to return.

Re Chance's age - the show is so screwed up on the ages of the characters that they really should go a little  younger with these recasts.

Chloe was actually Kate which is far enough away from Katherine as to not be confusing in any way.

I read somewhere he's 38, so they are definitely sticking closer to Driscoll's age....I do wish he were younger, but that's just me..

If we have Nina back, it will salvage whatever story they come up with for Chance this time...but who knows if TC will be back given her husband's death...

People can look younger, or older, on-screen than in their pictures. I'm not really bothered by the age. I just don't care really at all.

Y&R is so ... ugh. But I never expected much from JG so ... he's lived up to what I expected of him and even surpassed it with how poorly focused the show is.

Tip to the networks: STOP HIRING WRITERS YOU FIRED FROM THE SHOW (or who 'had a meltdown') OR WHO DID A LOUSY JOB THE FIRST TIME.

I swear they're deliberately hoping the show tanks, IMO.

I'd rather have Chance than Cane though. And really, Chance should have been in Cane's spot the entire time. Cane was NEVER needed.

And yeah, with 2 Nates and Neil's death we haven't seen Olivia at all (I'm also gonna guess TLW has no interest and I wouldn't blame her). I'm not expecting to see Nina except maybe for a quick visit. And that's if Tricia Cast is even asked and is even up for it.

You'd think the mother and son would go hand and hand but nope ...

We don't need another Adam, though.

The minute Adam got his memory back the show went into the shitter under JG.

Nick running for a political office is NOT compelling entertainment. I want a soap opera dammit, not a Hallmark movie. And who the [!@#$%^&*] is demanding Morrow be seen so much? I just don't get it. At all. Lord. I hoped with Angelica gone it would get better (we are finally free of Goddard/Cane so that's a win!) ....

Remember when foolish Doug Davidson was so thrilled? Yeah, how'd that turn out, Doug?

    • I hate it too but people casualy posting it so openly is dumb as hell. Especially when it’s known that they are hunting them down.
    • Wasn't Taylor Miller still playing Nina during the period that Devon was on the show? She was also written out around the time Julia Barr left and Brooke was recast. I wonder if they brought her back because being the doomed non-Nina love interest to Cliff was something they didn't want to give to a woman they cared about, and they didn't want to create yet another Kennicott relation. Then having her for the Lynn Carson story also made sense because if there was intense viewer backlash, she could easily be written out.
    • I also like how they've set up all the pieces where they could do yet another "shocking Gio parentage reveal" in another year or so if they want to. Because it's not at all implausible that teenage BLQ would have sexually experimented with both Dante and Cody. So if they want another violin-smashing moment next year, just have Gio find out that Cody is his real bio-dad.
    • I agree, also am able to see various points of view. Lulu, Lois & I think the two of them are going to rival one another for the heat they are going to take.
    • When you think about it, someone who stayed on for as long as Devon must have some fans out there. She also had an alcohol issue. I saw a host of episodes with her and Cliff on YouTube. I wanna say that’s who Cliff was entertaining while Nina had the affair with Steve.  Do you believe she lasted so long because Brooke left and they kept recasting Nina?

    • Thanks again @Paul Raven  It shows you just what a unique and memorable performer Denise Alexander was that I can see her in these moments and hear her even though I've never watched any of the material. On paper it probably wasn't up to much, but I do wish I could see her playing it. Meanwhile, the Diana material continues to seem like one plate of ass after another...I was thinking she had finally been able to move on with the therapy breakthrough, but then we're right back with her believing Peter and Leslie are having an affair. I don't know how much further off the material is that made Valerie Starrett leave, but I can't blame her.  I see less and less of Jessie anywhere in this - is this when Emily's health troubles were starting to phase her out of story? Going a few summaries back, writing out Lee, Caroline, her son and his wife seems so rushed. It's a shame Marland, or whoever, killed off all of them (aside from Lee), as they might have given Lee some story down the line. Or maybe the daughter-in-law survived too - I can't remember.
    • Thanks!  I compiled the list and posted it for the 59th anniversary in November, but just made the updates now for the couple of new cast members we've had since then! Didn't realize until I did the update that Peyton is the first-ever contract actor born in Nevada, so that's another state off the 0 list!
    • What I love about this story is that I can empathize with both Lulu's point of view AND Lois's point of view. I can understand why Lulu thinks it's important for the truth to come out and why she feels a moral obligation to let Dante know he has a son. But these good intentions have gotten all mixed up with her hatred for BLQ, and so she's going about it like a self-righteous bully who hasn't thought through all the consequences of this reveal. And I can understand Lois's thought process keeping this secret. She couldn't bear to give her grandson away to strangers, and so she arranged an adoption that kept him in the family. From her perspective, it's worked out beautifully because as Gio grew up as a "Palmieri cousin", he got to know his father Dante, his mother Brook Lynn, and his grandfather Sonny. She just had the hubris to believe that she could play God and keep the secret forever.  Maybe it's just getting to see Cynthia Watros and Laura Wright in full-on catfight mode a few days ago, but the show is starting to remind me of Guiding Light in its heyday, where most of the drama comes from the interactions of long-running characters who are likeable in some ways but have enough fatal flaws that they create their own problems. That's a sharp contrast for the way GH has generally been written since the JFP era, where most of the drama comes from external threats: supervillians, Sweeps month disasters, the mob shootout of the week.
    • Wow, @JAS0N47, that list of states was impressive! And I never knew that James Read hailed from near me! (I was born and raised in a nearby city, about 15 minutes away!) (Liked him since he played Murphy Michaels on Remington Steele when I was a kid. As an older kid, I also loved him on North and South!)
