I already said that. He didn't commit to those scenes with Beth, and that's on him. Look, I'm not defending the guy at all. I just reject the notion that these actors talk to TPTB and get their way. If anything, I think execs saw that the Trane stuff wasn't working, and RIGHTLY blamed it on Goddard -- then deciding to switch course and dump his ass.

Social media/Twitter do matter, but I don't believe these shows are hyperventilating and changing things every time Twitter hyperventilates. I do think Twitter can make a difference, as with Mishael Morgan. There was SUSTAINED outcry after she was cut and also a substantial drop in the ratings. Goddard will not cost Y&R any ratings points.

I do recall something like this being posted, and at the time thinking it could be a lot of actors, lol.

Recently, Instagram has started to curtail access to non-members, so I can't really look it up (which is just as well as I find DG's shirtless pics off-putting) but I really thought he had taken a picture with him heading into a meeting to discuss a script and/or ideas. And he practically bragged that there were some interesting things for his character in the works, lol.

I do remember Beth Maitland's tweets and from what I can recall, she was answering a question that was posed to her by someone on Twitter, so her tweets didn't come out of nowhere.

What's definite is that when Cane/Lane fans were tweeting insults at Traci and some even tagged BM, DG did absolutely nothing to stop it...he didn't even say "hey guys, I love your passion but don't be mean to Beth, she's a great actress and doesn't deserve this".  He never defended her, he let his fanatics go on and on while he posted old photos of "The Ashbys" and asked for fan feedback and comments as to whether they should all be reunited.  What did he think would happen?  I'll tell you what I think...I think he and his fanatics thought they could pressure the show and CK into putting Humpty Dumpty back together again.

    • Well before the craziness starts, I just wanted to say that off of this week's promo...I love that show so far stays playing all the beats. And just when you think they forgot about something or someone mentions a loose end here...it circles back around. I love the attention to those plot details. So far.
    • Sadly, it won't.  If anything, it'll convince the donors and others even further that they were right to push Biden out of the election (never mind that Kamala would've been on standby had he been unable to fulfill his duties as president).
    • Interesting..this is more then likely why I found Reva 2.0 boring and annoying..she had everything she wanted...now what else is there but some outside evil person or clones? It also might have been one of the reasons McTavish had Quint have an affair..it made Nola loose her Prince. But unfortunately they didn't do anything with it but made Nola a sad sack whiner. I wish they had her write a book..of course, some tell all which would make everyone pissed at her, especially Van.   Long was desperate to sideline Van into the Lewis hole. They had Van working at Spaulding again in 85 around the time Alan came back. I would love to have had Henry and Van tired of Alex dragging some nobody blond guy and trying to install him as a Spaulding, and fight to get their part of the company back. They could have used Ross to help them and of course, Billy would be p*ssed off that Van wasn't sitting at home and her old sharpness comes out.
    • I hope this shuts down all the book publicity [clickbait gossip] regarding Biden's mental acuity.
    • I’ve always wondered - why did Wayne decide to leave DAYS in 1984? He and Deidre were at the peak of their success, and their on-screen relationship was so iconic. Three years together just feels too short. Was there a specific reason for his departure at that point?
    • re: Damian's wardrobe: Bringing this over from the May spoiler thread, now that it's already aired:   Lily and Damian, Monday May 5 U.S. (Friday May 2 CDN)  they first encounter one another at CL, and then go to the lounge for drinks.

    • Poor Philip. I appreciate how seriously his and Xander’s scenes were taken though. It felt like real drama and not like a big joke. You could actually feel Xander’s pain and anger. It adds another dynamic to the Kiriakis family storylines and I’m looking forward to the effects that this is going to have across the canvas. I can see them weaving Kate and Roman into this storyline as well. And it would be really nice if this somehow helped cause conflict for Stephanie/Alex too, especially because of what Alex did today. With any luck, Stephanie will be furious about it.  And I’m glad that Sarah has Maggie to confide in about her secret. I also liked seeing Steve and Shawn (and their matching jackets

) continue to be on the case. Kevin, revealing everything to them is another interesting turn in this storyline. Plus, it seems the writing has improved for Shawn as well.
