From soaocentral character profiles.

Flings & Affairs

Katherine Chancellor

Ellen Winters

Joanna Manning

Dina [unknown maiden name] (engagement broken 1991, again 1996)

Leanna "Love" Randolph

Mamie Johnson

Gina Roma

Gloria Fisher

I had the same thought but surely Sally wouldn't tell that story. It'd be so hollow with John dead. Even worse than telling Lily's paternity reveal fall out without Malcolm around.

I think Graham is Brent's son and that he resents Dina for taking Brent from him and his mother. I think he also hates Jack and Ashley and wants to destroy the whole family. Why else would Graham have blackmail photos taken of Jack and Nikki?

i have no clue how Graham hooked up with Dina in the first place lol

This is what I think should happen. They never did DNA and it was obviously possible that John could be Ashley's father. I also want John to be in witness protection and alive.  Whichever regime killed John off was so misguided. I'm certain the assumption was that Aunt Jack would serve as family patriarch since PB was already older than JD when the Abbotts were first introduced.

Is it just me or has the music gotten more awful?  Between crappy elevator music, JFP's continued awful ballads, and horrific indie bands... Just UGH.  It amplifies horrific writing.  I'm not even sure that Sally and Kay wrote this.  It's worse than Sally's worst.  I *might* be able to handle it if it was an actual Y&R score.

I think the time to resurrect John has passed.

Firstly, NO to another back from the dead story.

Secondly, once John was back what would they do with the character? Jerry Douglas is in his mid 80s, and I dont think up to playing a major role. So we would probably see John once in a while, with a few lines.

Better off making Traci a regular as the talk to/moral core of the family.

I don't believe Graham's age has been established, but given that the actor is 42, wouldn't he have been born years after Dina and Brent's affair?

I recall during the art forgery storyline that Ashley referred to Rafael as her former stepbrother, not half-brother.

Does it matter that the actor playing Graham is 42? The ages on this show are all over the place, and if we can ignore those, we don't need Graham's age to line up with anything.

Rafael Delgado? Seriously, so few viewers remember this character the writers can easily ignore this history.

Writing regimes on soaps have shown us repeatedly over the last decade that they only care about soap history in the most superficial of ways. They don't go that deep, at least not anymore.

Honestly when Graham first came on the scene, I wondered whether he was some secret Mergeron offspring who had attached himself to Dina in an effort to extract Dina's inheritance from her recently deceased French husband, but then he encouraged her to sell Mergeron, which would've been his birthright (of course, if he is only out for money, he would only care about the cash that could be extracted from a sale anyway).

With John dead, I'm not sure what real payoff there would be in making Graham John's offspring. Dina likely blew through her divorce settlement from John decades ago, why would Graham be using Mergeron money to pay for his mother's bills?

With Brent Davis dead, I'm not sure what payoff there is to be had either, except to show that Graham is a grifter like his father?

I'm not even sure what longterm possibilities this Graham character even has? Is it worth it to make him an Abbott??  It sure didn't have any longterm potential when Y&R tried to make Jill Katherine's daughter and it has made no longterm impact making Jill a Fenmore.

The show would be better off making it about Graham wanting those Mergeron millions/billions because he's an heir.

Leave Ashley as Brents child.  I wonder if perhaps the fact that she and Graham have chemistry has made the show rethink the possibility of him being her half brother.  They could make him a M ergeron and not alter the story whatsoever.

So with a month left of Sallys reign, I'll be interested to see if Mal will carry on with whatever she was planning..or he will drop things, wrap them up right away, etc?  In the past, new writers would wrap things up from an old regime..even carry it on and take stories in a different direction.  I.E Marland did this when he took over GL and ATWT....and Nixon would do that whenever she would resume handwriting a show..etc.
