Adam was a horrible person. He killed a child and covered it up, why does anyone anywhere care this much about him? Why are we still mired in a story about someone that is dead and has been off the canvas for a year?

Beats the hell out of me.

But I'm still not convinced CBS and/or SONY have given Sally and Mal free reign.  IDK why, but it just seems like so much of Y&R these days is the result of interference.

Scott does look like that meerkat. He needs a hair cut. I think every new guy cast by MY has the same look and styled the same.  Long hair and bohemian scarves. Everyone is Ron Moss without the chiseled jawline. Reed and Scott are clones.

Forget about how UGLY Scott is.  The man looks Too. Damn. Old. to be Lauren's son.

This show won't recover at this point...I'm pretty sure of it. I saw pieces of today and just nothing made sense. Sympathetic Victor acting like he's sad that he lost a son - who he conspired against. Victor will never be redeemed to me, but people have selective memories. He was never truly the good guy or partially likeable. He was never any Roger/Guiding Light which is what they tried desperately to make him. And the show is a maze of a mess. You don't love any character on this show. When that happens, it's the nail in the coffin for a show - as plotty as shows want to be, DAYS, GH, and other shows have proven what happens when you go after plot only. And on this show, they tried to plot, but the characters have fallen apart and the repair would take way too long now. Given that the head writer can't do either. I'm not even sure they have the acting company to pull anything off now, to sell bad writing or to sell the fact nothing is happening. It's just not good right now. It will be the last one standing, but I give Soap Opera about 3 to 4 years tops now. People laughed at World Turns, Another World, Guiding Light, All My Children, One Life to Live - when they were cancelled. None were as bad as what I see right now. It's showing.

People laughed when ATWT, AW, GL, AMC, and OLTL were cancelled???

Uh....no, they didn't. That's an over-the-top statement. It does fit in with all the exaggeration about the state of YR, though.

I don't believe it either. I still believe that Steve Kent and Angelica McDaniels are still all up in that writer's room trying to live out their dreams. This show is still heavily restrained and it shows.

Yes!

Sucks they couldn't bring back Blair Redford as he just booked that big Marvel pilot, Gifted. All the young, out of work actors and they chose him... He should've been a Ronan or Cole recast but not Scotty! He looks like he could be Lauren's father!

Plus, I hate how they are subtly testing Scotty with Sharon and Phyllis. Toss that man in either Abby or Mariah's orbit and move on. Sharon don't need no d-ck no time soon, and Phyllis needs to be tossed back Billy's orbit as I loathe Villy.

Not even really watching atm, too busy, but I have a feeling the upcoming

Billy/Phyllis stuff

is a way to permanently close off the relationship which to me felt too abruptly deleted in December. That being said, if it isn't that then there is definitely interference. The show does feel like it's constantly stuck.

Scott looks like Lauren's lover. And their inappropriate chemistry doesn't help.

I think it's more to give Villy a spark. Make folks care about them again. Reed and the family time didn't quite accomplish the goal. So they get a interloper....with more chemistry with the male than the woman you really want to pair him with? This has disaster written all over it.

I agree. I understood the issues with pairing Billy and Phyllis but the chemistry was undeniable IMO.

I agree. I think most of what we are seeing is due to network meddling

He's a [!@#$%^&*] mess!  Whatever message they are trying to convey with that appearance is a complete fail.  Can't stand to look at Scott!

Do you think Bill Bell created Victor as Y&R's version of Roger? I'm sure Y&R had villains before Victor, but I can't figure out which of the 1973-79 male characters could be considered a villain from what I've read about that era of Y&R online.

So the end is gonna come before the 50th anniversary in 2023 then?
