January 4, 20179 yr Member Is there a reason for Lauren not wanting to tell Michael? Is this supposed to create friction in their marriage, or just simply show Lauren as an independent determined businesswoman? As for Thursday's episode Devon wakes up and doesn't remember the auction (shocker ... cue the eyeroll). You can see Hillary's wheels turning. Lily's her usual nasty self towards Hillary, always asking why she's there. Blah blah blah. Lauren and Phyllis are on again and I'm glad we've had a bit of time with this story. I like that Bregman is showing Lauren's desperation yet she's determined to turn things around. I'm enjoying it. She still doesn't want to tell Michael anything. Gloria wants to go back to work for Chelsea and found out Chloe works there. LOL. They're being ... cordial to each other. Gloria's not going anywhere, for those wondering. Some awkward Sharon/Chelsea/Nick scenes. Sharon saw them hugging. Nick asked about Faith's visit and shaded Sharon about being a liar and wondered if Faith could believe the explanation, basically. Sharon handled it so well though and Nick eventually left. And apparently Chelsea had no idea about Jeffrey and Gloria, so no, they don't talk apparently. Oh, and they seem to want fratboy Nick with all his lovers and potential lovers because he goes from Sharon and Chelsea to talking to Phyllis at the grungy dive bar he owns. Summer is STILL in Belize. Let's hope she stays there. Edited January 4, 20179 yr by KMan101
January 4, 20179 yr Member ICAM about Stitch needing to go. It's way past time. I can believe that Jack is capable of backstabbing Lauren, but not Ashley.

And I don't believe presenting him as Y&R is now would be someone Ashley would be attracted to. Knowing Y&R Abby will be taking him to Fenmore's for a geek to chic makeover set to ZZ Top's "Sharp Dressed Man" next month. The Fenmore Jabot story doesn't work because it goes against the fundamental core of who the Abbotts are (which is even before their long business & personal relationship with the Fenmore family is factored in). Had the story been about Jabot & Fenmore's fighting over product with Fenmore's at a disadvantage because of a downturn in business? That's perfectly fine. But this current story isn't at all believable. I still don't really mind Ravi, lol. It's a bit stereotypical. Ashley's not exactly falling all over herself for him at this point. He has a crush on her and they kissed. I don't think she's *that* interested in him. I don't like Jack going after Fenmore's either. I know "it's business" but it makes him look bad. I don't know what they're going for with Jack at the moment. 5 minutes ago, Juliajms said: ICAM about Stitch needing to go. It's way past time. I used to think the actor was bad and the character was pointless and needed to go, but as it stands I don't mind as just the doctor. At least he's a familiar face and not some random nobody. I can believe it about Jack but I don't really like it. Edited January 4, 20179 yr by KMan101
January 4, 20179 yr Member I think they are trying to take Jack back to his ruthless "smilin' Jack" days. A lot of time has passed so I'm not sure it works. I found it a little odd that Abby and Nikki mentioned Devon, but didn't go to the hospital to show support for Devon and Neil.

I guess so, but with the way Bergman is playing it, Jack has no charisma or charm. He comes off miserable, moody and pissed off. Angry. It's not working for me, LOL 47 minutes ago, DeeeDee said: +1. I just hate that Y&R went the geek route with him. I don't have a problem with him being smart but Abhi is way too handsome & naturally charismatic to be dressed like a Big Bang Theory reject. In an ideal world I'd really like for Y&R to build a new family around him like they did Vimal & Rama on OLTL but given the continued treatment of The Barber Winters (even now) it's probably best he remain a tertiary character. I'm not buying Billy: The Reed Whisperer. If Y&R thinks using Reed is gonna make me care about Billy & Victoria they're wrong. Jack is too old & too orange to still be picking on Billy. I don't mind him holding a grudge but it gets to be a bit much when you're old enough to be an AARP member. Ashley & Jack trying to takeover Fenmore's is WAY OOC. And it's the first MAJOR misstep from the new regime. Ashley (like Neil) has nothing outside of work. No friends, no romance, no social life. Nothing. Who talks to their daughter like they're on Sex In The City? It was nice Victoria pointed out that Reed would be in the exact same situation with her that he would if he remained with JT & Mackenzie even if they randomly snuck a new baby in there for JT & Mac. I'll never get used to Paul & Nikki having a kid. It's so weird seeing DD bounce between MTS & LLB because Paul & Cricket's remarriage has always felt like an afterthought. Y&R really has to stop having outside scenes in the middle of winter. The characters look foolish because they're too busy shivering to say their lines. MM was good today but she needs strong actors to help her grow. Stitch was not it. He needs to go. Yes yes yes to all of this. LOL at Billy: The Reed Whisperer. It's so contrived.

January 4, 20179 yr Member For Thursday's episode because I have to rant ... Not that I expect Hillary to sit at Devon's beside and tell him the truth, but her lying to him makes her look dumb. He's going to remember. Someone's going to tell him. She keeps making things worse for herself! And her lack of self-awareness is pretty frustrating. I love her but the writing doesn't do her many favors Phyllis and Nick as friends, having beers and chatting, that's all they ever should have been. It works. Maybe not *as* much with Gina, but they never worked for me as some true love couple. Edited January 4, 20179 yr by KMan101

It been done so manyyyyyyyyyyy times....yawn. And I don't even care for Devon so that's a double whammy. Can writes write compelling drama anymore?? Gawd no wonder the soaps went to sh!t!

People dress like that, including in the office. It doesn't faze me. He's actually better-dressed than some. Fenmore v. Jabot is just fine by me.

It's all they've got. abd isn't this a bit different cause stitch says not to upset him. So it's not really hilary lying for the sake of lying. Big change in writing imo. She has legitimate reason with the doctor backing her up. Edited January 4, 20179 yr by ajsp35801

January 4, 20179 yr Member Why does he need a motive beyond business is business, though? A lot of these characters (and others all over on soaps) were raiding each other on principle when Donald Trump was still on his first wife.
