Could we please, please, please put a nail in the coffin of the term "smart TV"? Nobody knows that the hell you mean (I don't think you do, either). You just keep posting the same ol' same ol'. I'm happy that your BFF Jean has a new job. She's got to be the luckiest lady in daytime: her mediocre track record should never have gotten her a head writing position at ATWT, Y&R or GH. But if the idiots at the Mouse Network think she's up to the task, so be it. GH IMHO needed to take risks, not play it safe with the likes of JP and SA. They are the most uninspired choice ABC could have made. But we're stuck with them for now. For GH and its fans sake, I hope they don't do further damage.

After all the havoc RC has wreaked, the best thing Jean and Shelly ("Jelly") could do would be to level the entire town of P.C. with a nuclear bomb. Of course, that leaves the question of what to do with the cockroaches...and Sonny.

So has Jamey calmed down? Or is he going off on Twitter?….LOL I had to make sure yesterday wasn't a bad Pamela Ewing dream and RC wasn't fired. Nope he is gone…LOL

I'm at peace with Jonny, but ya'll, if you don't want to hear his stuff, block him or don't feed into him by replying. Just sayin'. I have to admit the worst part about all of this is honestly having to see the quotes of Jonny's misspelled words and insane praise for a hack writer. Sigh.

Anyway ... so I have to admit, a few reactions have surprised me about this news. I mean, [!@#$%^&*] FINALLY. Seriously. BYE! Don't let the door hit where the good Lord split ya, Ronnie. You have NO ONE but yourself to blame. Not saying ABC or their "data" know what we really want to see but Ronnie just had to write for his pets, had to argue with fans on twitter, etc. His ego was too big. It all went to his head. He thought he could do whatever he wanted and would be untouchable. SURPRISE!

But really, we're just all settling and going "maybe it will be ok" with JPiss? Um. No. She's hardly who I would be clamoring for. It could be a LOT LOT LOT better, but it could be worse, I suppose. Ron did some things that I fear no other writer will do (use the vets, but even then there were like 1,000 cast members so many of them got the shaft again, but they at least had cameos ....). I'm not saying I liked all of his "storytelling" (he actually started off well, IMO. It fell off around the returns of the OLTL refugees and other soap refugees and he never really recovered), but JPiss? And boring Altman? Yeah, Y&R was watchable, but do anyone of you NOT remember her ATWT?

Do you think the 'data' and ABC bigwigs and JPiss will write for Lucy, Scotty, Bobbie, Felicia, etc? Yes Ron ignored them towards the end but in the beginning the intention was there. And the Nurse's Ball.

I'm glad he's gone but I'm not really very excited by the replacements. It's the same tired has-beens. Why are writers who are fired for a specific reason hired to raise the demo numbers? LOL. I'm so sick of the recycled writers. But at the same time, I wonder how many script writers and breakdown writers are just happy doing that and want NOTHING to do with being the head writer. So sometimes I get not promoting within, but they should.

Maybe Pissanante and Altman will be surprisingly good on GH but I won't hold my breath. I'm not at all looking forward to what they'll give us.

If u watch the current Y&R it's the worst crap I have seen in soap history. Shelley and Jean have it class, intelligence, most improved in sod and Y and R won best show based on their writing. U all wanted Ron gone he is gone. We have quality that will return to our screens. Jean and Shelly being hired by ABC means ABC paid attention to their one year stint at Y and R. Honestly Jean has been head writer now at OLTL, AW, AMC, ATWT, YR and now GH. That's six soaps that I don't think any head writer can beat that resume with that many head writing stints. Shelly is just beloved she's a gem. Altman was named co head writer right before Jill got fired and then it all changed when Frank came on. Smart TV is the perfect for this dynamic duo they showed it if they got zero interference we could see the cable TV type of show on GH

Now we shall see if all your assertions of "smart t.v." will come to pass. However, I'm not optimistic that any writer on a network owned show will not have some sort of interference.

    • There are no dumb questions here, we've all known each other long enough to fill in information without shaming each other.  We want you to be happy @carolineg.  Your POV as one of the few women here is vital. So, please, I hope you never feel as if any question, idea, or opinion is ever silly or stupid.  Your daily reminders about the realities of manicure and menstrual management has become a part of the personality of this thread. As for Hank, while I'm confident there's a plan in place.  It is frustrating that they announce these casting so far in advance that it is tough as an audience and wait it out until the thing happens.  I'm happy they didn't blow it the second Mike was in town, a week after meeting Liam. So, it is a slow burn.
    • I think his full name is Chadwick.  I remember, back when the previous actor was playing him, someone called him Chadwick a couple of times.  It may have been Stefano.
    • I didn't like those two sleeping together, but I suuure liked seeing BF in them. Wiggle and all. Just sad about the waxing of the chest.   Same.
    • It’s strange. I wonder if the writers at that time had worked with him somewhere else and had a relationship? That time is murky AF to find info on. Rachel Ames in effect left the show at one point in the early 80’s and she is credited like she was there until JFP. Tristan Rogers also took various contract breaks that were not short, and websites also credit him one long stint from 1981-1992. So many people come and go in short succession in 1982-part of 1983. I know they lost a lot of viewers when Genie left, but the show somehow survived yearly at number one through like sheer force of will.
    • In that way, at least we were fortunate.  The Daniel Pilon/Ron Raines decisions...not so much.
    • Letting Brennan put it in yet again while smirking over his shoulder... any day now! She's got him just where she wants him! I do think ol' Jack will be dead by February at the absolute latest. They have set him up as a counter-heavy to Sidwell, forcing poor Joss to work his next scheme or threatening to have her sent down for treason. Once he croaks I still deeply fear we will be subject to Valentin and Carly, partners in crime to lovers, possibly out to find out 'who killed Jack'. Anna was at her best keeping Sonny at arm's length and often somewhat cold, which she only really did (for better or worse) off and on during Carlivati's tenure. But Finola gradually got too emotional over Sonny, Jason, etc. and was allowed to do that onscreen too much long ago. Mulcahey brought some of that steel back, though Finola still managed to choke or quietly sob through some of that material as Anna found her way there lol. She's a brilliant actress and she did a good job with that stuff in '24, but now we're back to the same old and it humiliates the character whether she knows it or not.
    • Listen, I am all for Laura Wright wearing silly wigs and glasses if there was a point.  So far she's just been nice to Brennan and made out with him.  How evil lol!!  Even though I have been told Brennan loves her the writing was never there.  It's so low stakes.  Carly should maybe talk to her daughter and have an adult conversation instead. Laura and Anna look foolish.  I really don't have an issue with either being friendly or at least having some affection for Sonny.  I don't get both of them wanting to have a parade to announce how much they love him and how valuable the friendship is.  C'mon, Laura basically tolerated Sonny because of Luke until Lulu/Dante got together.  Anna likes Sonny because Robin did?  There really isn't much more of a reason for Anna to give him the time of day besides that.  They aren't lifelong buddies.
    • It is so dumb and is dragging on already after a couple weeks. By the time Carly wraps this up Joss will be running the local branch office. And yes, Laura deserves better. It's like they tripled down on this Sonny apologia stuff with her and Anna after the Mulcahey saga.
