Worst character names

People always say soaps give their characters dramatic names but I feel like from the 90s through the 2000s they've given the kids some bland and ordinary names. Which soap characters have had the worst names?

I feel like they overdue it a lot with the mother's maiden name,as the child's first name.

Summer Newman

Fenmore Baldwin

Just to name a few..

I'd include Reed as well. I really don't like that he got Nikki's maiden name. Especially since Nicholas Reed was an abusive a-hole

Matilda is among the worst for me.

I don't like Lila or Georgie as names either. They didnt need to repeat those names on GH.

Reed is just a bad name - plus the history behind it.

Summer I can live with because it's always worked with the character.

Fenmore - absolutely not.

Thank goodness Lily didn't name her daughter "Winter."

Fortunately B&B did a better job with names for the next generation than the terrible 1980s naming of Ridge, Thorne, Brooke, Storm, etc. Much better with Steffy, Thomas, Phoebe, Alexandra, Bridget, Rick and Hope. And I'm fine with all third "Bill" on B&B (Will).

Not to offend anyone with those names, but I can't understand why Bill Bell gave two major young characters old fashioned names like Phyllis and Sharon.

Similarly on Days we have Theresa and Bev for young characters.

Also,I have never found the surname Horton to be particularly appealing.

Lopez-Fitzgerald has to be the worst name ever.

Its tradition for many hispanics to have the mother's maiden name in addition to the father's.

So did they need to pick one with so many syllables?

I would have preferred Winter to Matilda. Matilda! NO! I'd take Drucilla first!

SB had a bad habit of giving some deplorable names to their characters. I mean...Brick? Seriously?

Cutter (Wentworth) from OLTL is probably on top of my list. Cutter is such an awful name. Ron was probably trying to be edgy unsure.png

Also Faith (ATWT), Destiny (OLTL) and Hope (B&B). I hate these kind of names.

And I'm fine with all third "Bill" on B&B (Will).

Lol, I love B&B for doing that. It might seem uninspired but at least it feels a bit realistic. We have Bill and sons Liam (which is probably short for William?) and Will .

Also like how they re-used the name Caroline for the niece of the old Caroline.
