IA. Even if an actor were to support him after all this, their handlers (agents, managers and whatnot) would steer him or her away from working on a project with Cos for the sake of their career.

It's because he didn't admit to drugging women without their knowledge, he admitted to getting quaaludes so him and assorted women can get high and screw.

So apparently he's a druggie and a adulterer, just like 80 percent of the rest of the entertainment industry. Big deal. It doesn't surprise me. And I don't think the Michael Vick thing is any different, really.. stray dogs are shot every day in rural america, it's the only way to deal with people dumping strays (Unless you want to keep the thing)

She also made some weird comment about how everyone took 'ludes in the '80s. I wonder if she thinks all these women partied down and can't admit it.

She has a lot of issues and she's a great example of how harmful The View has often been to society.

I used to love Whoopi Goldberg back when she actually did comedy. Her one-woman special on HBO was a bit of comedy genius. But she's never let herself recover from that mess with Ted Danson in blackface and it colors everything for her now. It's sad.

That, and the Weight Watchers firing. She alludes to it in that clip, i.e., "an entire party" (Republican) vilifying her (over the obvious and unoriginal Bush/"bush" joke she made). WW was lame to fire her over that, and the sting of it still seems palpable these years later.

Today I caught the first few minutes of The Talk. They were discussing the raid on Subway Jared's home and Aisha chimed in about us not knowing all of the facts prompting Sharon O. to shout, "You sound like Whoopi!" Sharon can get on my nerves but I rather enjoyed that.

What happened with Weight Watchers? I'll be honest, I haven't paid much attention to Whoopi since her Star Trek days and the only time I ever give The View my attention is when I'm at the mechanic's and the show is playing in the customer waiting area.

Cosby waxed poetic about Spanish Fly on that late night show (forgetting which one, the clip was posted earlier in this thread). He's admitted to buying quaaludes in prep for sex. He's obviously a fan of pills as sexual accoutrement. I don't see why people can't fathom that he might enjoy implementing them consensually or non-consensually given the circumstance.

I worked on a play years ago where drug use was a central element. We had a married couple come in, former addicts who'd done it all, to offer their expertise. They both agreed that if they could still get their hands on 'ludes, they'd probably still be using today. The effects were that powerful, the experience that mind-blowing. One can only imagine what these pills did to the uninitiated who were slipped them in alcohol. Well, actually, one can imagine if we read these many accounts.

I was always a fan - I even watched her sitcom quite a bit. It seems like she's got this idea that she needs to constantly defend the worst of stars she sees as somehow being unfairly accused. This is the fourth or fifth time and I can't have any respect for someone who constantly takes the side of the rich over their victims.

    • Thanks. I'm glad we have some fan memories of these years as this is such a typically snide take on the genre. It's also poorly written and reminds me a great deal of the tedious "snark" recaps that became popular in the '90s. The end in particular. The 1979/80 stuff I have seen is much more polished than a number of soaps at the time. It was very easy to watch and not too bogged down in past story.  Margo is played by Ann Williams, who was on what seemed like every soap. I think she said Margo was her favorite role.  These episodes aren't consecutive, but if you ever have time, they are worth a watch. They are bits and pieces from January and April of 1979 - April in and out of prison, her past calling to her via her psychic powers (and the suicide of Miles' wife Denise, who had murder framing in mind). April 1979 has the end of Winter Austen (such a fantastic soap name).  I don't want to drop a ton of links but you can find playlists on Youtube.
    • And the rating 'wars' continue...hehe.
    • Well, it was fun while it lasted for Rebecca Herbst. Le sigh.
    • I am wholeheartedly enjoying this show. I just haven't been able to post as much as I used to. But yes, this episode needs to be submitted for the EMMYs and there needs to be wins. I better NOT see Y&R, DAYS, or B&B winning in categories over BTG. I feel like the only show that is giving BTG an ounce of competition this season is GH.
    • I never thought the day would come, but too much MM for me.
    • I think it may be that the character was brought in for a specific purpose and then became popular with viewers, and the show didn't know how to respond.  The choice to pivot away from Simon/India may show that you are right and they didn't care for her...although pairing them up may be another sign they didn't care for her. I don't connect well with this period but it does make me happy seeing some of these characters before the great purge and some of the surprises - I'd forgotten the wonderful Maureen O'Sullivan popped up to be bumped off. So typical of soaps by this point, but it doesn't grate as much as later on when Y&R would bring on any random cast member from Small Wonder. I'm also amazed at this time at just how much money the show must have had. The costumes for the Founder's celebration in summer 1984, or whatever it was, looked gorgeous.
    • Which officially started to feel that way today with them hearing each other out as they confronted each other at the same time.    Same. He was even catching himself when he was about to go overboard or do those tics that people don't seem to like. He failed a bit at the end, but he carried. It makes me think about a month back when it was discussed that the actor was better in other things he's been in. And I questioned then if that meant that he was playing Martin more intentionally. I questioned that briefly again today because he was giving.
    • I really like the actress who plays Margo. Don't know  her name. I'm so hesitant to google anyone because I don't want to know the length they were on the show. I've watched two episodes and I have to say that the show does not feel as dated as other shows. I tried to watch Ryan's Hope a few weeks back and some of the acting was a bit rough. EON is a lot more natural which amuses me considering it's a mystery/thriller show.
