But she was taking about having her last embryo transferred, so doesn't that mean she doesn't have any eggs, even though she can carry her own embryo? I thought that's why these embryos were her last chance and she was so desperate to get them from Dr. O? *fingers crossed* Because I agree, the last thing these writers should pen is a rape.

Thank you! wink.png

Originally she couldnt even carry any kids but they rewrote that with her latest storyline. I dont see it putting it past them to say that her procedure somehow made her able to produce eggs for future pregnancies, no matter how illogical. Remember everything about this show is plot driven

I was referring to Paul and Anne Martin's daughter, Beth, who died of "crib death" while Paul and Anne were attending a therapy session for parents of special-needs kids. (Anne had contracted toxoplasmosis during her pregnancy, causing Beth to be born severely handicapped.) Anne was already emotionally fragile from worrying over her daughter, but losing her sent her completely over the edge. Paul ended up having her sent away to a mental institution.

And as for DAYS: Don and Marlena's son, Donald Jr., or D.J., was born prematurely and died soon afterward. Don blamed Marlena for the baby's death; they wound up divorcing. Of course, with DAYS being DAYS, there is always the possibility that Stefano DiMera (or someone) took D.J. and raised him to be Daniel Jonas a dynamic, sexy, intelligent young man who is allergic to clothes (or at least to shirts), who every woman loves, and who every other man wishes he could be like. (That's usually how those casting notices read, right?)

Allow me to offer congrats as well, Julia! :)

Was it... Anne's? Back in the 70s anyway--she had a baby who was mentally ill, and she went crazy and then I think they wrappedup the story by killing the baby with SIDS. (Oh dear, I could be wrong--it's scary how I'm starting to lose myknowledge of AMC history--even stories I never saw...)

Thanks Khan! Read this after replying--glad I was mainly right!

    • Today (Thurs May 15) eppy not on paramount *menu* but it's on cbs.com. If you take the cbs episode URL and substituted paramountplus for cbs in the same URL, you get the episode on pplus https://www.cbs.com/shows/video/Huj7bAYV8H6T038u9cXam3bk6QXNkM2Y/ https://www.paramountplus.com/shows/video/Huj7bAYV8H6T038u9cXam3bk6QXNkM2Y/
    • Really good episode today. Even the characters who usually annoy me, like Chase and Brook Lynn, got some sweet scenes. I also appreciate that they're finally giving Lucky more to do, letting him in on Ric & Ava's blackmail scheme. And those Liz and Lucas scenes were fantastic;  Van Hansis has been bringing such playfulness to the role of Lucas, he brings out the best in scene partners like Laura Wright and Becky Herbst. It was also nice to get Liz's perspective on why her romantic rapprochment with Lucky is moving so slow; it makes perfect sense that she thinks he's not really capable of settling down, even if he wants to be with her.
    • I thought Keith did great as well. His scene with Colby was what sold me. He displayed the emotions that a man who knows he's made a mistake and wants to rectify should have. Its funny how Maurice has been given passes in his acting that other actors have not. What Keith has shown me is that he can atleast keep up with the ladies in his story instead of them acting circles around him when Maurice was playing the role.
    • Also Murder, She Wrote season 3 finale was the week before.
    • When Kat was in Ted's hotel room and he wasn't there, she started to write a note to leave for him, and then thought Why? and texted him instead.  Love that.

    • Thank you. And above all, it's conflict, which is what soap opera is. Not characters just being annoying because a writer rushes through story for them.

    • Maybe Carney and Levin didn't get along, but he got along with Tolan. Who knows. I SO agree about Tolan. I am sure my jaw hit the floor when I watched her first scene. She had been hyped like crazy by the soap mags. They swore she was going to be a sensation like Mulgrew. I thought she had a speech impediment. More likely she just couldn't remember her lines so she ended up slurring them from nervousness. Not everyone can do soap acting, it's very difficult. There's memorizing so many lines, then there's so little rehearsal. I think she was a theater actor. Maybe she was a good one. But when the camera was fixed on her, she just...sucked. I had nothing particular against Nicolette Goulet. She just wasn't Mary. She had no chemistry with Levin. She didn't even look like she belonged in that family (a similar situation when they replaced Sarah Felder with that blond chick who was laughable as a rookie cop). I don't believe it was impossible to recast the role. Kathleen Turner was doing soaps during this era. She would have been a phenomenal Mary. (Not to say that she would have been available, but just to point out there were good actors of that type around).
    • Bill Bell dusted off Jennifer Brooks death 13 years later on B&B with Caroline death.
