YR Casting, Days Uncasting

I can't imagine JFP not using the character or ever offering a contract to a woman her age unless the show wanted to use Ashley, had story planned for her. Unless Sony were involved but I doubt that. So good for her!

I think she is being used to usher in the unnecessary recast Billy. Once he's acclimated and Twitter starts yapping about how wonderful the new guy and nuBacteria are, Ashley will go to bed hopping until Days needs ED again.

Given JFP's penchant for Douglas Sirk-esque romances between older women and younger men (Matt and Vanessa, Ben and Viki) I've no doubt she has something similar in mind for Ashley. Stitch? Perhaps. I mean, it's pretty obvious to everyone that Billy and Victoria are stuck with each other (and that we're stuck with them), so Stitch has to go somewhere.

Just hoping that these "writers" have long-term story projections written for Ashley's return, and she's not being brought back to be used as an obstacle for Nikki/Victor for the 1000th time or be tossed aside and hardly utilized.

Winner. This is all about making JFPS recast work. Beth Maitland said that she will be working alot more too (I read twitter tags). I suspect we will see alot of Abbot family goodness over the next 6 months.

they could've been doing that the start of DT's return

Totally made me think here.... It was a huge mistake to fire DT when he works well with THE ABBOTTS because he doesn't have chem with the human brick that needs a pairing to save her scrawny ass! Billy is an Abbott first!

Not to mention that Eileen, Peter and Jess had freaking awesome chemistry with David Tom. Talk about wasted oportunities...

Agreed, but ED was not available because of DAYS. JW had her hands full with TR. It was just bad timing. I feel bad about DT. Perhaps they would've been better off making Billy AND Adam disappear for a few months - maybe Billy emerging first and then Adam. Anyway, if more Ashley and Traci as a way to bring the story forward, I'm OK with it.

Interesting, apparently in Eileen's new 2 year Y&R contract, she can do some episode of Days as well

welp.

That is so great to hear about ED's new contract. Maybe, just maybe, Sony is using some forethought in allowing her to come and go from DAYS.

I wonder what her salary at Y&R was compared to DAYS. The paycut really seemed to bother her.

I think it's wonderful that YR will share her with Days.

And I loved how honest she was about basically feeling forced into days but embracing it and loving it.
