This makes the quote in Variety about tuning in to soaps after not watching for years and seeing familiar faces all the more absurd. At least regarding GH. If you tune in to GH and see familiar faces, you were watching other shows years ago.

And Slimeass has already mourned Nina more than Sam mourned Jason. And now he will mourn the loss of his dead baby. I know a lot of people hated Jason and his box of pain, but this is ridiculous.

Madeline and Liesl!!! It's been a long time, hasn't it?

KS looks better since finally putting on some weight but Maxie is still a twit. But she does seem like a master thespian compared to Ryan Paevey and whoever plays her friend. Good God with the awful.

Olivia is so overdramatic. Putting her with MB/Sonny just makes it worse.

Nik practically has a mullet. Ugh! The scene where Liz saw him in the ER was nice but that's about it. She's one of the only people that I like that's not a complete caricature.

Franco is just a yapping dog! I hate RH's acting.

KT really is the Bree Williamson of GH. Exact same bitchface and they can both play complete bitches but can't add real layers or play anything else. But I did think it was kinda nice that Lulu let Britt say goodbye to the baby.

Ryan Paevey SO pales in comparison to Donna Mills in every single scene they have together.

Donna Mills was campier than Kathleen Gati today!! Love them both but how absurd that RC made Madeline and Liesl sisters. Liesl already has Britta, she doesn't need more family. Does EVERYONE have to be related?

It's so bad. I hope the Qs get some decent focus during AJ's funeral coming up.

We get it, you hate Kelly and Britt. I personally think she's a competent enough actress. I felt bad for Britt today, the scenes were well done.

Maxie's new friend is beyond obnoxious.

I thought Nathan seemed a bit more alive today. I hope this continues!

Yeah, I think KT did a good job today. I liked those scenes and I really enjoyed Lulu finally getting her baby. Emme's not the best actress but she's made me buy Lulu's hunger to be a mother and to have her child back. So kudos to them both. KT emotes and does a lot more than many actors on this show.

Woodpile did seem more alive but I was so distracted by that greasy Trashbag. But I've never been much of a fan of guys with longer hair. It takes a lot to pull it off and he looks ridiculous. We traded one annoying frog face (Spinelli) for another (Levi). Why not just keep Spinelli?

I don't think either is the worst actress I've ever seen. Or even the worst on their soaps. I was just pointing out the similarities I saw with the acting styles and characters. And as I said, I did like that Lulu was the one who let Britt say goodbye to baby Ben.

Guys with long hair make me sick. Not that I missed Maxie but she really needs new friends.

    • All the time they spent trying to make viewers feel sorry for Chad only for him to not even last that long. I wonder if they knew Richard Burgi was going so quickly. You're right about Josie replacing Cheryl. On paper, this should have made sense, given all the ties Josie had to the canvas, but I did prefer Cheryl. There was something very synthetic about Alexandra Wilson.
    • So true...Hackney might have had a story on FC with Richard being an old lover of his, but reveals herself to be a Cartel member and blackmails Richard with something into doing her dirty work  LOL. But of course Richard had his hands full with the double trouble sisters Ms. Jones and Ms. Braxton that season.

    • Cat herself will be a stumbling block all her own as she vowed to Chad to stay away from him, thus redeeming her of her crime morally. Classic DAYS would have them gazing longingly at each other at Doug's Place or Blondie's, while Liz is serenading the room with a song aptly chosen to represent their feelings of emotional turmoil.
    • From what I just recently watched, they were setting her up to go into future stories. She was Emmy nomination worthy in the material I saw. If some viewers did not like her, the character could have been rehabilitated after that sick storyline. It feels like they destroyed a character for fun and then tossed her to the curb. Spencer had chemistry with everyone. I'm just retroactively angry on Spencer's behalf.  You're right about how Cheryl was often forgotten and pushed aside and I would take Cheryl over Josie. I think soaps need characters like Cheryl. Characters like Josie are way too common. Josie always got on my nerves.
    • CBS was back in third place in 1994/95. That was the season CBS lost NFL broadcasting rights which also cost them several established affiliates in major media markets. 1995 CBS was sold to Westinghouse and Les Moonves arrived. 1995/96 CBS was trying to be young and cool to compete with NBC and Fox, but it was an epic failure and CBS was once again in third place.
    • I tend to think that Chad will actually listen to Jen (this time). And that will be the next stumbling block in their relationship, which will open the possibilities for Cat to seek another member of their love triangle... To iterate my earlier thought, I am also not a fan of the person Melissa Reeves, but the character of Jennifer looks so chic this week, especially in comparison to Hope (and Gabi).  That blunt haircut is a winner.
    • I think Cheryl was essentially replaced by Josie, and it seems likely that Lemay wanted to bring the Frames back into the picture and for a variety of reasons that it would be McKinnons who would make way for them. Cheryl didn't really get many layers -- she was pretty and kind and sweet and faded into the background so that Scott could participate in the AIDS storyline with Dawn. Looking at the AWHP, other than (not very) shockingly being in love with her mother's adopted son Scott, Cheryl apparently went out with Sam and flirted with much-too-old-for-her John Hudson and MJ's ex-boyfriend/pimp Chad. I know MJ told Mary that she had been a prostitute, but did she tell Cheryl and did she tell anyone about Chad's pimping?
    • I feel the same way about Melissa Reeves' Jennifer. She just makes the show feel like home by her presence alone. I am perfectly okay with them coming in every once and awhile, which probably fits Reeves' schedule better anyway. Their connections to Salem are still there: JJ, the grandkids, Jack still owning half of The Spectator ... they're perfect recurring characters. All this talk of Jennifer being in the wrong regarding Cat is absurd. Jennifer is not being villainized in any way, shape, or form, she's just being allowed to actually be human, which adds odds to the obstacle of Chad and Cat eventually getting together. All inner conflict. Keep it coming!
    • Hahaha. Jean Hackney, Angelica Nero, and the Falcon Crest henchwomen were all straight out of a James Bond movie.
    • My hunch is what you've described. JFP is likely back working on transitioning the show to a new studio and embracing new technology for its production model.
