Not entirely true. When a male actor comes out as gay, I think it does effect how he is viewed by the female contingent of fans. I have seen more than a few complaints about gay actors being in heterosexual on screen relationships and how "it ruins the fantasy". Sad, but it happens.

It makes me violently ill when I hear that.

That is so far from what I'm talking about. Really, it is.

I thought we were talking about how knowing certain things about actors/actresses (including sexuality, marital status, who likes working with whom, who is unhappy with their SL, who hates their SL or pairing, etc.) affects viewing pleasure.

The thing is that Hinsey has never been consistent about it. She used to love hitting her word limit in her old columns bragging about what she knew that the fans supposedly didn't - the age of the Internet changed that, of course, making her even more useless - as well as trying to intimate a close personal relationship with the hunks who clearly could barely stand the sight of her. I needn't mention the legendary thread at Jossip about her overall behavior, either.

Then, while still trying to maintain her wholly manufactured reputation as a rough and ready "straight talker" who doesn't stand for the corporate party line, she would regularly come out with pieces like this, encouraging fans to not worry their pretty heads over criticizing network or BTS decisions, or thinking about what happens backstage - while all the while getting high on her "juicy" backstage gossip. Is this 1945? Is she trying to be Hedda Hopper?

Hinsey has only ever been consistent in her inconsistency. And I won't even get started on her getting caught looking every bit her age when she huffed about OLTL 2.0 daring to show drugs and sex. Carolyn Hinsey is a myth writ large entirely in her own mind. She's a shill that subsists on a cheery denial of the contempt that people feel for the way she operates, and who relies on the presumption that everyone else out there is a cloistered idiot who only processes the world of daytime through her outdated magazine columns. I could handle the forced "attitude" from a woman old enough to be my grandmother. What I can't abide is the relentless, gushing condescension and happy talk in the face of the social media age, when everyone knows better. Except Carolyn Hinsey.

OT but, Thank you. CH always irks me and this goes back a decade when she was saying teeens on AMC (JR, Jamie, Laurie, Joni) dont talk like that. Excuse me CH but what do you know about how teens talk.

I for one felt that both AMC & OLTL were more modern and conversational than they ever were on ABC

As for sex & nudity, what did we see some side ass from AJ, side boob from Natalie & Pete faking his O face as he got a fake BJ and that fake BJ at Shelter on OLTL episode one, ogh the scandal

She did make a big deal abput the drugs. We never saw Dani take drugs. But we did see her drink and then she overdosed. Brianna took one pill and then died. Yeah thats overkill. CH needs to get over herself and stop telling us fans what we should like

Then she was hyping Tainted Dreams as standard soap and what I saw was boring. In facet I saw more sex in those 3 epiisodes combinded then I did in PP's AMC & OLTL

I guess some fans are so deep into their fantasy that they truly feel they have a chance with their favorite soap star

Although they are really in love or at least it seems to be wit their character, not the actor them self and when they realize the actor is not their character, its life shattering to some

I want to marry this amazing post. Thank you.

And that is the point I was trying to make. It may not be right, but it's the reality. There was quite a bit of wringing of hands on the message boards when that rumor was flying around about Rikaart and Leblanc screwing each other. It's outadted, ridiculous thinking, but it's there.

God that was so long ago, I wonder if it still exists. I actually thought it was data lounge that had that huge thread on her. Hope someone can come up with it for you, it was quite the read.

LOL! I remember that crazy Jossip thread. What does Hinsey do for a living now?

“I can’t comment on any of the allegations,” Nina Tassler, CBS entertainment president, told critics at the 2014 Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour on Wednesday morning. “I can only say that when the producers and Sony [Pictures Television] came to us and said, ‘We want to make a change,’ and they laid out their reasoning why, we supported them."

interesting wording...

This is the most official statement that we have gotten from CBS. Still nothing from Sony.

Ha, I just realized that the guy who wrote that article has Branco old job at TV Guide Canada. I hope this makes Branco burst a vein. LOL!

Tassler said the "producers" came to us, bet Sony dragged JFP kicking and screaming there.
