As we know Maria Arena Bell had an interview in SOD talking about what she is up to. She said she won't be at emmys as she will be out of country. She loves what Prospect Park is doing with AMC/OLTL. Then she really nails JFP/JG for throwing out her stories like the Phyllis/Paul storyline for their own stories. She founds the show very flat with no excitement and tons of unfamilar characters. She also said she always fought for her vision and kept Y&R the golden standard and kept the show recognizable. She said while she would have loved to have come back shes moved on. She would never say never to a daytime return and would like to do a non network show. This is my commentary: I honestly can't believe the stuff out of this woman's mouth. She really should shut up. She was FIRED rightfully so. Ratings were falling, her budget was out of control hiring old soap vets in terrible miscast parts, Victor/Sharon are enough said. While I am finding JFP/JG's Y&R a bit dull its nowhere near as offensive as MAB's show. I honestly think MAB despises JFP for taking her job and I don't think Jill could give a damn about Maria. She was offered to be EP of number 1 soap u think JFP would turn down that gig. Maria has alot of sour grapes about her firing. Its probably cause she is rich and is used to getting what she wants, she is a socialite.

JFP's Y & R is horrible, but a different horrible then MAB's.. imho

What was the Phyllis/Paul story? The Ricky disaster? Or the Christine mess?

Whatever critiques she supposedly has all applied to her work on the show, which may never recover from long-term damage she inflicted.

While Y&R still isn't great - the biggest problem being the directionless stories and dull element, at least it isn't being infiltrated with massive cast-offs from other soaps, doppelgangers of the week, exploding volcanoes, special guest sitcom stars of the 80's, burnt fetuses, and all the other illogical nonsense that occurred during her almost 5 years on the show, and the funny thing is, the show was still BORING as hell even as Maria tried to go for sensationalistic plots.

She has some nerve trying to throw shade at a show she no longer works for and accusing them of things she was more than guilty of during her time there. This was always her biggest problem, she was a legend in her own mind and thought everything she did was perfect and was somehow true to the grain of the show, when it wasn't.

Haven't watched Y&R in decades and don't know this MAB person from a hole in the ground but JFP is one the BIGGEST hacks/soap killers out there. I applaud anyone putting her down.

Honestly, Y&R's current problems are likely due mostly to Josh Griffith's writing style, which lacks momentum, imagination, and follow-through. The show just needed a stronger writer to execute some of the current ideas. No real damage to the core of the show is being done right now, which simply cannot be said for MAB's tenure. The show is relatively safe in comparison and nothing a more imaginative writer couldn't fix.

A lot of MAB's damage on the other hand, IMO, is irreversible.

lol she accuses JFP of filling the show with "unrecognizable characters" but does the bitch not realize most of them are characters SHE created. JFP simply recast some of them. Her Y&R was horrible much like FRon's GH. So bad you don't want to claim you watch it.

JG is a decent writer, but he works best with a strong writing partner with a strong vision. Michael Malone/Josh G were an awesome duo back in the early 90s.. when JG left, MM admitted to a loss of focus in the day to day aspects.

Does anyone think JFP gives a crap what Maria thinks? As much as Jill is hated and despised she has 35 years in soap biz and over 26 years as EP of six shows with seven emmys. Maria couldn't dust Jill's shoes in the biz. Honestly its Maria socialite status shes rich as hell dong her museum art shows and Kathy Hilton is one of her besties. What people also don't know is how Maria left the show in a production shambles as well. Jill arrived to the show in a very disorganized show. She found that many of he shows departments had not met with Maria really very much. She quckly had to get everyone on task the directing team, producing team, writing teams. Nelson even said Maria took six vacations as executive producer in one year how does one EP a show. Jill has really organized te show now and making actors and everyone work alot harder. She knows how this biz works. Problem is Josh Griffith hes delievering very boring material. He needs a co-head writer or they need a new head writer. Maria also keeps saying how she was so true in sense of her father in law.

As if JFP gives a damn about MAB who is a delusional washed up cow.
