Gross & Perverted Soap Opera Moments

Which ones can you think of?

Probably the most famous would be Y&R's Stolen Sperm Saga, which slithered around for about a year and involved leading ladies cat fighting over sperm. It didn't go over so swimmingly with the soap press and fans to this day gag when they think of it.

Another one I remember is on B&B when Deacon was paralyzed and Bridget was giving him physical therapy. It gave him a boner which they both celebrated. Personally I liked it and found it pretty titillating but it was definitely awkward.

It always amazes me that Passanante continues to work.

After Gillian being shot in the head and Leo kicking in the hospital room door to get her heart (although at least he didn't specifically shoot her, so Zach's still got you there, DuPres), I was outraged. If I hadn't already become so cut off from AMC by that time I would have been even more outraged.

That time period (aside from the last year and a half of McT's last run) was probably the lowest point of the series.

He snotted all over Fiona Hutchison when Jenna died, too.

Memory erasing formula? What on earth did I miss during those Peapack years? I thought all they did was listen to Starbucks music while meandering around in open fields.

You didn't miss much. When they werent listening to Wheeler's "Garage Band," and wandering aimlessly around fields, (or having a picnic next to a road, or doing paperwork in the park..how did this [!@#$%^&*] make it to network TV????) they were doing really stupid things like this episode and the one where Harley became a super hero.."The Guiding Light," ..no kidding there and it was NOT a dream episode and what was worse, fans were posting on the boards that they loved it.

God Justin Deas as Buzz was gross. The way he would kiss Lilian with gum in his mouth and he just would grab her head and start chewing on her face! I just wanted old hard up for a lay Lillian to smack him!

That was one of those special ITL episodes before it was announced that GL would be filming in Peapack regularly. That said this episode was done in the new style, oh and it also was the precursor to Beth and Coop. Basically the episode was one of Coop's stories supposedly and everyone was acting out his random characters.

No, I think that this was supposed to be a "real," episode...one shot though it may have been.

But it was so AWESOME! I forgive that kind of stuff when the moment is so good.

One of the best scenes on Y&R EVAH! Just classic.

C'mon, that Inside The Light with Harley as a superhero was some sort of dream sequence! I think they had some cheeky lil wink-to-the-audience thing happen, kind of like the way the Reva Clone appeared to Reva in her sleep one last time after she died and Reva awakened to find whatever necklace or trinket that the clone left behind. But that superhero thing was a dream........ right?

I applaud soaps like GL and ATWT for casting men who are talented actors but not necessarily hunky studs (Deas, Larry Bryggman, etc.) but Deas definitely had some icky gross moments. And I never believed that Buzz/Olivia romance for a second. No wonder she turned to the ladies... :)

Beth and Alan being married on GL and her getting not pregnant once, but twice with his kid.

Yeah, that was pretty skeevy.

It was pretty perverted by pure horror standards that Patrick Cutter got halfway through spelling out "Marian" WITH HIS OWN BLOOD before he finally died after being stabbed and left in an alley to die. Pretty horrific end for a cop, and a terrific character to boot.

I thought that was heartbreaking, but, then, that was more story than Cutter had ever had.

The Marian story skirted that line over and over - for me the worst was killing Nadine, and switching Lucy's HIV tests. I think, somehow, they did manage to hold everything together. I can't say the same for McTavish's other GL stories.

Oh, the death itself was heartbreaking, but just like with poor Nadine, they just had to add even more shock value (Cutter with the blood and poor Nadine tossed in the lake) that honestly wasn't needed. There's something perverted in that, IMO.

I thought the blood was a cool, classic twist - that was used to set Marcus up for blame.

The Nadine stuff was just nasty and not needed.

AMC - Adam impregnating Annie. Even though they were together, I kinda convinced myself that they werent having sex. Of course there was no more denying it when she turned up pregnant. That really did gross me out. Thank god we were spared love scenes

In anticipation of his wedding night with Annie, Adam asked Joe Martin for Viagra pills "just in case". Love Adam Chandler. Love DC. But, no. Just no.

I believe it was right after Gillian died.

Ryan burned down their house and screwed Liza in the woods within hours of Gillian's death. It was awful.

The scene provided one unintentionailly hilarious moment -- a shot of Ryan's anguished face (snot and all) superimposed over the flames engulfing his house. Pure cheese.
