April 14, 201115 yr Member I know it's completely unreasonable and I expect to read tons of posts about how both shows deserved to die, fighting about which could have been saved, bla bla, but right now, I admit, I'm devestated. Far more than I expected to me. I feel the same way, Eric. In my gut, I knew that when Felicia Behr had posted that both shows were out, that it was most likely true. So I was waiting, and I thought I was prepared. For some reason, today before I logged onto SON, I had a feeling the news would be there... and it was. Yeah, it's affecting differently (and more) than I thought it would.
April 14, 201115 yr Member And I know it's been said, but I was at work when this news broke--but my friend who texted me it and I were endlessly texting back and forth on just how D level, CRAP these replacement shows are. They make The Talk seem Pulitzer worthy. And Frons' quote on them that makes it sound like these poor overweight women were stuck watching boring soaps and eating bon bons all day and were just clamouring for a show to save them and teach them how to get thin and dress well (which somehow is "exciting"). Oy.

Far more than I expected to me. I feel your sorrow Eric. I know how you are feeling. The world better be prepared, I won't have anything to do at 1 and 2 pm when I'm home. Oh...going into hiding.....lol ABC World News is about to discuss the cancellations.
April 14, 201115 yr Member This must be like the movie groundhog day for Daniel Cosgrove by now. Daniel Cosgrove is officially the Paula "Show Killer" Marshall of daytime, lol!

I just hope Agnes might have a little say in the endings for both shows.
April 14, 201115 yr Member I just found this on YouTube the opening of OLTL from the day of my birth Sniff http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-iOHm_b-qg I have that full song with the lyrics on my iTunes but didn't wanna listen to it, cause I know I will start bawling. April 14, 201115 yr Member George Stephanopoulos on ABC News: "Coming up, the TV news that has millions of women posting memories online." Or something like that. "Women." Sums it all the f!ck up exactly why these shows are going off the air. Edited April 14, 201115 yr by All My Shadows

I honestly felt AMC was on an upswing--and despite how much I complain about OLTL's current state I admit I'll miss it almost as much. I kinda now get how strongly people reacted about ATWT and GL's cancelation even more now--it honestly does make me think things like how I never want to watch an ABC show again in my life, as nonsensical as that is I know. And I was thinking I could start watching GH or Y&R more now and switch over but really,I have no desire to watch another network soap. (And I really don't see GH lasting all that much longer now...)
April 14, 201115 yr Member I just hope Agnes might have a little say in the endings for both shows. The last anniversary show would've been a perfect end.

April 14, 201115 yr Member Oh I will! Erica will go out guns blazing! Well in the mean time I better start loading up on the tissue, I'm going to cry all day on the last episode of amc.
April 14, 201115 yr Member With that said I find myself watching less and less tv they keep cancelling all of my shows. Very true, when GL was cancelled, that freed up my afternoons at least for an hour. Now with AMC and OLTL going, that pretty much eradicates my daytime viewing altogether, aside from the occasional check in with DAYS.
April 14, 201115 yr Member 1.5 minute interview on ABC World News. Really ABC no IN-DEPTH interviews why do they treat soaps like this

AMC & OLTL are it for me, in terms of daytime soaps. I have a feeling it's the same for you!
