It's sooo good.

Haven't seen the other 80s uploads yet: who is Max?

He is Eve's cohort in her scheme against Victor.

That’s the gist I did get from

I’m sure I’m not alone in this, but 1983 Y&R was gothic AF.

Not nearly as much as it was earlier. You don't get much more gothic than this at 4:30.

Was that the last appearance of Stuart Brooks on Memorial Day ? I really enjoyed those scenes of Stu & Liz with the vintage background music. I read that Robert Colbert was upset his character had little to do by this time and quit the show. I say it was a shock to him that within 10 years that his entire family was written out.

Im soo happy to see his last material and just like that they didnt try to hold on to him, he was there for the first decade like Katherine and Liz it would have been nice to see him continue.

I thought the foster house stopped being shown in 82 so i guess 83 clears that up.

All the storylines in 83 are soo wonderfully done and the acting is tremendously done well, good job who ever it is uploading them, i hope maybe one day we could get some 79,80,81 uploads

We even had full closing credits with cast lists !

Max Van Luden was played by Carl Strano. He was even on contract for a short time (he was recurring at first as he was not listed in the March credit but he was on contract when his character died, apparently on July 1st if I'm right).

Margaret Mason was only recurring for her whole time back on the show in 1982-1983.

Robert Colbert was still credited in this late June - early July credits. He probably departed after the Memorial Day scene but it was not expected. This scene was probably the last time the Brooks home was seen. Not sure about the Foster home: Liz went back working for Kay and living at the Chancellor Mansion I think. Both the original houses might have last appeared in the same episode then.

Found this gem on Youtube. The only time Alex Donnelly’s Diane ever interacted with Phyllis. And it is *delicious*.

There is definitely a fall '83 scene with BrendaD's Jill visiting Liz at the Foster home. And I want to say that perhaps Jill visits the Foster home again in winter '85, soon before Liz makes her last regular appearance...

Love this. And, yes, what could have been.

Thanks ! From the 1984 I have seen, I was under the impression that Liz was living with Kay.

The Kyle/Summer pairing might have had a lot more zest if Donnelly's Diane were still around.  Hell, Phyllis likely would've had more zest from the boring incarnation that occupies the latest iteration.

I hope there is some way possible that it was a doppelgänger Diane who was murdered, and Alex Donnelly comes back one of these days. Especially if Patty came back as well.
