Yeah Taylor did not exactly set the screen on fire. I'd forgotten all about her until I watched an old episode on YouTube. Then I remembered how she tried to snatch Tom during one of the times he was separated from Margo. I think the problem with Taylor, and this also related to her as a third wheel in Casey & Lyla's relationship, is that she was nothing but a plot device. Marland didn't really explain her past or give us anything to make her seem like a real person. And since the actress was so bland, she quickly fizzled and was written out.

Someone else mentioned James Stenbeck. What about Dusty Donovan? He was introduced in February 1983 near the end of their run.

Plus they created Margo, introduced back in July 1980.

Me neither. He's been married twice. His first marriage occurred while he was on the show.

I think a lot of these guys were hired and given important roles because Marland had a fondness for certain types. And I wouldn't be surprised if Marland dated and lavished money on several of them who used him to get their careers going. But that doesn't mean they were actually gay. Marland also went out with female actresses on ATWT, for example he was very close to Lisa Brown. So who knows what really went on.

But Greg Watkins was also appearing in Miller beer commercials in the 90s and in my opinon came across more masculine than some of the other pretty boys on the show. Incidentally Watkins has only three acting credits on the IMDb after 1995 when his role ended on ATWT. One credit is a voice over, another one is a short film, and other one is a minor role on some series I never heard of before. He did stunt work on a few episodes of Heroes in the mid-2000s.

Evan and Carly interacted? No recollection of this whatsoever.

It wasn't so much their characters that failed, it was story. James, Margo, Craig, Steve, Dusty, revitalizing Tom, Barbara and Betsy all impacted the show positively. (feel free to correct me, I'm a little fuzzy on the Dobson's exact tenure) It was their brand of story that didn't fit ATWT in the long run. Mr Big, Barbara's six month hallucinations about the 1700's---I STILL remember how hard I rolled my eyes at that as a preteen---Bilan----that crap was a huge axis shift away from what always distinguished ATWT as a family drama. Yes, it was in part the vogue thing to do, trying to copy GH's success, but like you said it was too rapid and (I don't know...) inorganic(?).

Carolyn Crawford was a big ol' fail. Wouldn't consider Adelaide or Evan fails. Adelaide wasn't meant to be anything other than Kirk's confidant, and clue us in with teases about Kirk's past. Loved Susan Brown in the role.

Evan wasn't Lucinda's half brother, she was his step- grandmother, Royce (played by Terry Lester) was. Evan was kind of wasted as the also-ran in the Andy-Courtney romance, and always seemed somewhat in Connor's shadow. It wasn't until his affair with Barbara that he came into his own, and that got cut short by Greg's accident.

I don't recall either Mr Walsh appearing (her husband or her stepson, who wouldve been Evan's father). Rita Lloyd did play Edwina Walsh, Connor and Evan's mother. And one if the InTurn winners played Evan Walsh IV, which would've made him Evan's son.

Neither did I, but he was very charismatic.

The actor had been on the short-lived FOX soap Tribes for a while, and although the series was dreadful, I kept watching until the bitter end, largely because Greg Watkins was so adorable, and looked so enticing in the super-tight jeans he used to wear, LOL.

I couldn't stand her either. She was so damn whiny and never really very happy with anything, and I didn't understand why so many cute boys were interested in her. I always felt like she dragged Andy down. I wish he'd been allowed a fun pairing - even one. (Julie doesn't count as Julie was a mess, even though I enjoyed their friendship)

Thanks...and I assume we never saw Jacobo Esteban (Sierra's father) unless he was in some Montega flashback. Speaking of Montega, does anyone know the first time Montega was mentioned/shown on screen? And the last time anyone mentioned Montega at the end of the program's run? Did Taggart/King create Montega or was that a brainchild of Marland's?

Montega is first mentioned in late 1984 as Lucinda learns about the revolution there and has Craig go rescue Sierra. I don't remember if he knew Sierra was her daughter at that time or not.

We never saw Jacobo, I believe.

    • Only falling or tripping dreams for me...
    • I think with the Silk Press Sheila/Eva/Ted/Nicole situation fully out and in the open (for the most part)... I have some predictions for May/June: Kat/Eva/Tomas:  With the revelation that her father, who she held up as a hero, is not as perfect as he's presented himself to be.. I see Kat focusing her energy on supporting her mother and pushes Tomas away (she had mentioned to Vernon about how Tomas had asked her to step in and talk Naomi into dropping the lawsuit and how she didn't feel comfortable with that).   With Tomas pushed away from Kat.. he become the one individual that is nice to Eva and also feels a bit of guilt since his telling of what she confided in him to Kat ended up being the spark that made Kat resume investigating Eva.   Eva will also go to Tomas for comfort... and that will cause even more conflict/issues between herself and Kat. Nicole/Ted:  As we've seen for the last 2+ months... Nicole is not anything like Dani and her response to Silk Press' bombshells proves that.  Even if she opts not to file for divorce.. I predict a messy War of the Roses type of situation.   Although she kind of bought this on herself with the bottom bit of trust she had for Eva irregardless of the fact that she came recommended by Mona. Martin:  I have a feeling that his memories of the being Silk Press Sheila's little brownie friend will also revive the nightmares full stop.. and May will have this be the A story with Smitty and kids affected by this secret of his from the past.  If found out.. will Smitty leave him, or will Smitty continue his unhealthy devotion to Martin (and it is unhealthy).   And also, I hope we get some more focus/development on the Joey/Vanessa/Doug situation.. and also connect the threads of that threesomes to Jacob/Jacob's partner/Jacob's dad thread... and also get to see who else Joey starts to set his sights on (perhaps a Dupree.. since they're vulnerable right now). My wishlist for May/June for the B and C stories: Naomi/Jacob:  Cute couple.. but why are they together.  As the late Agnes Nixon would ask if she view them .. why are they together?  What is it about Naomi and Jacob's pasts pre marriage has led the two to find one another and get married?  Naomi seems a control freak... as a way to not be like her 'weak' mother Dani so she calls the shots?  What draws Jacob to Naomi?  Is it her sense of justice and passion?  Is it the Dupree last name?  Ashley/Derek:  The last time she was on, we finally got a bit of personality from her that isn't so perfect.  She's high strung/anal about her surroundings and her life.  Is she like this because she was a latchkey kid due to her single mother working all the time?  Is she only with Derek because he's 'simple' and 'uncomplicated'.. someone she thinks won't try to upset her routines?  As I say... I don't know if the writers/producers have the 'why' figured out for these two.. and if they can figure that out.. story can generate from that.
    • It's not the worst idea lol.  Emma deserves much better than Joss though.
    • Robert Newman gets the short end of the stick, as Josh is usually stuck being an [!@#$%^&*] until the chick he's with goes cray-cray and Reva becomes the better alternative.  Reva was also married to Josh's brother Billy.

Marnie Schulenburg's widower. She was such a strong person. (I did not realize he played the Tucker Carlson knockoff on Succession)
    • She has the Bo Buchanan curse.  Agreed, Carly's reaction would be quite interesting.
    • I agree. Even the discussion about cuts at the end of scenes. I'm binging THE DEFENDERS right now, and it has those cuts. Is it odd? Oh God yes. Heck, I will say it's worse than what has been discussed here because it does not bother me here and this was back in 2017/2018.   That said...I am starting to look forward to BTG finding their proper rhythm.
    • Louise, what memories & Brooks with her! Other favorite domestics: Lucinda's butler Matthew, Ginger on GL, Vivian of course on AW. A notable butler & a notable cook at the Qs. DAYS Ivan taking care of Vivian Allamain all of those years. Oh, on AW Carl had a driver who sometimes had other duties: Ito? I recall him being Asian. I always felt sorry for Louise & Brooks when Mac & Rachel would fall out. How difficult it must have been for them with all that tension & heaven forbid they be in the room for one of their fights, which were violent & mean-spirited & loud!
    • I don't believe JFP wanted rid of Donna because she was isolated. She wasn't any more isolated than most characters on the show at that point. JFP just couldn't live out her fantasies with Anna Stuart the way she could with Linda Dano. She degraded the character instead, as happened to Donna under a number of regimes.  Donna, Rachel and Felicia were never characters who were all over the canvas. Felicia probably had the most reach of the three, as she ran restaurants for a decade, but they had their own spheres.  Rachel had a large role in Felicia's alcoholism storyline, as Felicia tanked her relationship with Cory Publishing and then her drinking caused her to start a fire at the TV studio, meaning Rachel had to fire her from her talk show. Rachel was at Felicia's failed intervention. Felicia and Donna had some back and forth during that strange period where Donna was dating Cass.
